Marjorie Ellen COLLINS (née CORISTINE) passed away peacefully at home on June 10, 2005 surrounded by her loving family. Pre-deceased by her husband Maurice O. COLLINS in 1978 and sister Ada ACTON. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Brenda L. SHERRELL and her spouse David BOWER, Susan D. GREGORY and her husband Jim, her grandchildren Jay, Jamie and companion Mike, Shawn, Kelly and fiance Peter, Lucas and wife Tracey, Saul, and Misha, sister Elsie FISHER, and numerous nieces, nephews, greatgrandchildren, and Friends. Marjorie was a teacher, member of Riverside United Church, and participant in various activities at the Boys and Girls Memorial Club. OLDFIELD, Winnifred "Winnie" Mary (née PATTISON)
Winnifred (Winnie) Mary PATTISON was born in McIntyre on April 20, 1922, the first daughter of John and Minnie (BISHTON.) She had two brothers, Allister and George, and one sister Eileen (Johnson), all predeceased. Winnie lived in the Flesherton area and attended public school at Springhill and then Flesherton high school (on the Macphail site). She worked as a helper at Duncan's farm north of Corbetton, and in the original Munshaw House in Flesherton. She married Jack OLDFIELD in 1940, and they were to share more than 50 years together until his death in Winnie and Jack farmed on the Oldfield farm on Highway 10 near Corbetton. They had four daughters: Pat, Marie, Margaret and Janice. In 1969-70, the family moved to a new house on Victoria Street in Dundalk. They became well-known business people in the area, operating Shell Oil and a coal business until 1979.
In retirement, Winnie and Jack travelled extensively and did comparisons on farming all over the world, South America, Cuba, Australia, Scandinavia, and Great Britain, along with travels throughout Canada and the United States.
Their daughter Marie married David HENRY in 1978 and granddaughters Cara and Blaire were born. Daughter Janice married Wayne CROFT in 1984 and gave Winnie and Jack a grand_son, Ryne. The grandchildren spent many happy hours with their grandmother, sharing news from their days at school.
Winnie enjoyed gardening at her home on Victoria Street as well as time spent in the summer at the cottage at Lake Eugenia. She was a part of the United Church Women for well over 50 years, first in Corbetton and of late in Dundalk. She was active in knitting and quilting groups and donated knit goods through community groups each year. Winnie had many Friends in the seniors' circle, and enjoyed the lunches and dinners. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
After her passing on Friday, February 4, 2005, visitation and funeral were held at McMillan and Jack Funeral home in Dundalk. Rev. Janet ERIKSEN led the service. The music was provided by Anne OLDFIELD (niece,) and the Proton Tones (Donald and Bonnie BLACK, Isabell FRANKS and Shirley RICHARDSON, accompanied by Maxine COPELAND.)
Rev. ERIKSEN shared an e-mail from Lawna SHERRITT in Nova Scotia. Cara HENRY provided sketches of her grandmother's life. Pallbearers were nephews, Jim OLDFIELD, Ted PATTISON, Peter JOHNSON, and family friend Ron MacCANNELL. The grandchildren, Cara and Blaire HENRY and Ryne CROFT were the flower bearers. After the service, luncheon and fellowship followed at Dundalk Legion Br. 285, with refreshments by the Dundalk United Church Women There will be spring interment in Dundalk Cemetery.

SHERRITT, Lawrence " Larry" Almer
(January 2, 1922-February 26, 2005.)
The family would like to honour the passing of Larry in his 83rd year at Guelph General Hospital after a recent mishap and illness. Larry proudly served Canada in World War 2 as a member of the 7th Field Regiment R.C.A. from 1939-1945. Upon returning from service overseas he completed a 40 year career with Labatt Breweries, London, Ontario. He was a loving father and husband, giving strength to those around him. He touched many with his smile, the twinkle in his eye, his kind words and gentle ways. Survived by his beloved wife Helen Louise at Riverside Glen Nursing Home in Guelph. Survived by Robert of Erin, Ontario and William and his wife Janet of Cambridge, Ontario, Grandchildren Erin, Allison, Josh, Meagan, Melanie, Todd, Jaimie, Katie, Great Grandchildren Owen and Abby as well as his sisters June and Mary. She was a Eucharist Minister, Lector, an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Bereavement Group which serves St. Joseph's and Immaculate Conception Churches. Rita also served a three year term on the Parish Advisory Board. She was a past member of the Altar Guild and a Small Church Community leader. Rita participated in the R.C.I.A. Program as a sponsor and assisted with the record keeping for St. Joseph's. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Embraced in the "Community Cloak" of her family and Friends, Shelley Thomson/Buonastella passed away, Wednesday August 17, 2005 at the Toronto General Hospital. Her fierce battle with non-smokers lung cancer ended, as it began, with Shelley surrounded and protected by her family, her Friends and the broad community she worked with and loved. A teacher and community activist, she was treasured by her husband, Orlando, and her two children, son, Sandro, Danya, her daughter and her dad, Murray (predeceased). He immigrated to Canada as a young boy. Walter was a very well respected geological surveyor who traveled the world doing work for various companies. He was recognized for his contributions to mining in New Brunswick at CIM Geological Conference in Bathurst, New Brunswick in 1993. He is survived by sister, Galena BERGOT, Vancouver, British Columbia daughters, Cathy (Ian) SCOTT, Truro; Mary (Brian) CHISHOLM, Alton sons, Michael (Catherine), Moncton, New Brunswick; Vincent, Inuvik, Northwest Territories; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren nephews, Norman and Alan of Toronto; John and Michael of Vancouver niece, Diane, Toronto and close friend, Patricia PEZZE, Toronto. She was a long time standing member of the Saint Johns Ambulance and the Youth Superintendent of the Wallaceburg Brigade. Shirley received the Serving Sister of the order of Saint Johns Ambulance from the Governor General of Canada. Loving daughter of Percy and the late Alma POTTER) PECKHAM. Beloved wife of Gilbert LANTHIER. Dear mother and mother-in-law of Miranda (Grant ANDERSON) SHEWAN and Trevor (Yuxi) SHEWAN all of Toronto. Loved grandmother of Owen, William and Ethan.
