Born January 10th, 1930, Swan River, Manitoba, daughter of the late Patrick GILLESPIE (Old Chelsea, P.Q.) and the late former Dora DURAND (Crookston, Minnesota, U.S.A..) (Doreen was a member of the Saint Mary's Catholic Church and dedicated Co-Proprietor and employee of the Beaver Lumber and Building Supplies, Tillsonburg). Much loved wife and best friend of 46 years of Paul A. THERRIEN. Much loved devoted mother and mother-in-law of: Jeff THERRIEN and partner Mary Ellen KROETSCH, Pender Island, British Columbia, Cindy TOWNSEND and partner Hank STUYT, Kent THERRIEN, Todd THERRIEN and wife Phyliss, all of Tillsonburg. Her soul entered eternal rest July 31st, 2005, at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay. She was the beloved wife and dear friend of Harry H. SHORE, Burlington, Ontario. Cherished by her devoted children and family: John SHORE, his wife Deirdre PRINGLE, Marnie SHERK and her husband Bob SHERK, Ted SHORE and his partner Roger LEROUX. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Andrew SHERK, Heather VAN LUVEN and her husband Kyle, Emily SHERK and Trevor SHERK. Family and Friends were her first joys and she will be deeply missed. Long time resident of west-end Toronto and lately of New Horizons Tower, passed away on October 2, 2005. Edna was born January 5, 1924 in Harrisons Corners, raised in St. Andrew's West and graduated in nursing from Saint Mary's Hospital in Montreal. Predeceased by parents Mary Ann McDONALD and Stephen CAVANAGH, siblings Janet, CAMILLA, Teresa and Thomas and friend Jaroslav SLOBODIAN. Edna enriched the lives of family and Friends and is lovingly remembered by her sister Ada, several nieces and nephews, Maurice McNEIL, Robert McNEIL, Kathryn SHERK and her son Chris SHERK. Edna's faith was fundamental in her life. She appreciated the support provided by Kathryn and Chris in remaining active in her parish and community in her later years. Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Father Martin HILBERT in the Oratory Chapel at Holy Family Church at 1372 King Street West on Friday, October 14th at 10 a.m. Committal will follow later in St. Andrew's West.

The world lost a wonderful man suddenly, Thursday, December 22nd, 2005 in his 80th year at Nanaimo Regional Hospital in British Columbia. Loving father to Jim (Robbin) GOULD of Brampton, Ontario, also to Jean, Sue and Annie GOULD of Toronto, Ontario and Ronald GOULD of Florida. Beloved Grandfather to Matt, Phillip, Meggan and Mitchell GOULD of Brampton, Ontario. We love you Grandpa GOULD! Beloved and loving companion to Hazel WHITTINGHAM of Parksville, British Columbia. He will be greatly missed by Hazel and her children Brenda SEELENMAYER (Paul ROUSE) and her children Sean and Clayton, also Corinne HILLSDEN (Glen) and their furry children Amber, Bailey and Cheena. He will also be missed by his step-children Sue SHERLOCK (Barry), Tom SHERLOCK (Sue) and Mary SHERLOCK. Arnold is survived by his brother Ross GOULD (Jeannette) of Scarborough, Ontario and by his sister Shirley GAUVREAU of Islington, Ontario. Beloved brother to the late Jack and Ken GOULD of Toronto, Ontario. He was a beloved son to the late Philip and Beatrice GOULD of Etobicoke, Ontario. Arnold retired after a 43-year employment at Canada Post, including Regional Director and President of Toronto Local Canadian Union of Postal Workers. He finished his career in Parksville, British Columbia. He was also a World War 2 Veteran, serving overseas with The Royal Canadian Air Force 419 and 429 Squadrons. Arnold was a loving and generous man and always had a smile or was willing to lend a helping hand to his neighbours, Friends and family. A service is to be held in Parksville, British Columbia, Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at the Parksville Funeral Home. There will also be a memorial held in Brampton, Ontario in January. peacefully and surrounded by love at home in Ottawa on 16 February 2005. She lived for many years in Sudbury where she raised her family and was very active in the Ukrainian community. Helen was extremely proud of her Ukrainian heritage; an accomplished singer, she was a regular soloist in the Dnipro choir, recorded Ukrainian folk songs and performed many concerts in the area. Her love of music and life was passed on to her children and grandchildren, many of whom have been attracted to the world of the arts. Helen was predeceased by the love of her life, Mike, and is survived by siblings Annie MacLEAN of Sudbury and Alec DEBRIE of Bracebridge. Helen leaves daughters Doreen, Mareka, and Joanne and husband Fred, and her son Dennis and wife Lyn, grandchildren Ivan, Mareka, Larissa, Andreka, Michael, Jason, Steven and Lesia, great-grandchildren Adrian, Dorien, Andrea, Jacob and Semara, and many nieces and nephews. Helen was beloved by them all, and she will be very deeply missed. The family is indebted to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Ottawa-Carleton chapter and the Community Nursing Registry of Ottawa for their wonderfully supportive home care, coupled with the warmth and obvious affection they held for her, which contributed immeasurably to Helen's comfort and well-being during the past several months. Special and heartfelt thanks to Deane Ronayne, Charlane MacKENZIE, Carol SHERMAN, Judy ROCK, Linda TOLSTOY, Diane COULTERMAN and Drs. Pippa HALL and Arlene ROSENBLOOM.
