It is with great sorrow that the family announces the peaceful death of Elmer at Bluewater Health-Palliative Care Center in Sarnia, on August 15, 2005 in his 76th year. Beloved husband for 46 years of Betty NICKEL. Loving father of Carla JOHNSON and her husband Steven ROORDA of Cambridge, Brett JOHNSON and his wife Angela of Milton and Michelle JOHNSON of Toronto. Lovingly remembered by five young grandchildren, Daren ROORDA; Emma, Justine and Joshua JOHNSON and Lucas LEPRINCE. They were always thrilled to join him in hikes at the family's recreational property near Bayfield. Dear brother of Minerva PEASE and her husband Everett, Bill JOHNSON and his wife Margaret and Myrna REDICK and her husband Orville. Predeceased by his brother Donald JOHNSON (1983) and his wife Margaret (2002). He was also a special uncle to many neices and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Edwin and Dorothy JOHNSON of Sarnia.
Elmer was born in Nipawin, Saskatchewan on June 7, 1930 and raised in Sarnia. He graduated from Ridgetown Agricultural College (1952) and attended Briercrest Bible College (1957) in Saskatchewan where he met his dear wife Betty. He and his brothers operated the Ed Johnson Construction Limited for over 20 years. Elmer and Betty subsequently operated E and B Johnson Sand and Gravel with several locations across Southwestern Ontario until they retired in 1989. They then moved to Mooretown to enjoy the river activities. He was a founding member of Peoples Church, Wyoming in 1961. He served his Lord in many ways as an elder, teacher, encourager, giver and worker. Elmer was a great lover of the outdoors and took much pleasure in serving others in any way he could. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Peoples Church at the corner of London Line and Camlachie Sideroad on August 27, 2005 at 1: 30 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. They settled in the London area with the dream of building a business. Pete's destiny was to work in the greenhouse. From a very young age, he loved to accompany his father to the greenhouses where he worked. So while his parents worked elsewhere to provide a steady income, Pete was instrumental in the growth of the family business from its inception. Eventually he took over the business from his parents and has steadily and successfully built it to what it is today. Through the years he employed many family members and students and taught them an admirable work ethic. He worked right along with his staff and found it very difficult when he became ill and could no longer work. Pete was an admired Boy Scout Leader and a founding member of the London and District Florists Association. Special thanks to Dr. KERR, Dr. PERERA and Mary Liz. Your compassion for and care of Pete during his four years of treatment greatly helped ease his journey. Also thank you to the special women (ie Nurses) of Victorial Hospital who helped him through his final week. Pete touched the lives of all who knew him! He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. Cremation has taken place. Mrs. Elsie KERR a long time resident of Wallaceburg passed away on Monday, June 6, 2005 at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance "Public General Campus" in Chatham at the age of 83 years. Elsie was born in Freemont, Michigan and was a daughter of the late Alex and Catherine (NIEMIN) ROOSSINCK. She was an esteemed sister in the Wallaceburg Gospel Hall, also a former Sunday School teacher and a mentor to many. Elsie was a volunteer with the Wallaceburg Community Living. She was a regular visitor to others at Sydenham Residence and Fairfield Park in Wallaceburg. Elsie was a champion quilt maker. Beloved wife of the late Clarence KERR (2002.) Dear mother and mother-in-law of Dan and Mary KERR of Palmerston, David and Gertie KERR of Windsor, Eva and Rick LIZOTTE of Wallaceburg, Daisy KERR at home and Charles and Lorna KERR of Wallaceburg. Sadly missed by her grandchildren: Ryan, Heather, Carolyn, Tyler, Holly, Jason, Trevor, Timothy, Matthew, Steven and Jennifer and great grandchildren Emma, Liam and Ethan. BROWN, Marjorie Irene
With quiet strength and courage, surrounded by the love of her husband and three daughters, Marjorie Irene BROWN passed away, at home, on Thursday, November 3, 2005. Left to mourn the loss of this kind and gentle woman, matriarch of a family that will always cherish her memory are Keith, her husband of sixty years, Jewell and Daryl BENNETT and their children, Robb and Patt, David and Crista and Julie; Janice BURDEN (Lawrence) and their children David and Adina; Rosemary and Dave RAMEY and their children, Peter, Elizabeth and Lauren. She will be forever remembered with love, by her great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Stacy and Daryl BENNETT. Marjorie was born on December 10, 1926 in Seymour Township, the daughter of the late Clayton and Grace WALLACE. She is survived and will be forever missed by her brother Tom WALLACE and his wife Reta, sister Jean and her husband Jim POLLOCK, sister Pat and her husband Frank KAPUSCINSKI and sister-in-law Mae WALLACE. She joins in Heaven, her beloved older sister Thelma, brother-in-law Ev PARR, brother Burton WALLACE and their parents. Marjorie and Keith were married March 30, 1946. She is lovingly remembered by Keith's sisters, Marjorie (Gordon), Gay, Audrey (Harold) Chambers and their very special Aunt Mary (Bruce) BAKER. She was a devoted daughter-in-law of Roy and Debbie BROWN, deceased. Her many nieces and nephews, and their families will always remember her warm hospitality extended over the years at family gatherings. Marjorie was a committed member of Mark St. United Church, Life member and former President of United Church Women For many years, she sang in the choir, and recently enjoyed providing music entertainment at church functions. She loved playing her piano and fostered musical interests in her children and grandchildren. Throughout her brief illness, Marjorie's modest nature was deeply moved by the many expressions of caring that arrived daily from members of her extended family, her church and her community. The BROWN family will always remember their thoughtfulness. The compassionate care and family support provided by Dr. John BEAMISH allowed Marjorie to remain at home, the centre of her life with Keith. Marjorie was a loyal and supportive wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother whose commitment to her family and community demonstrated values that will live on in the lives of those she loved. To the very end, she was beautiful and dignified, always inspiring her family, always concerned about those caring for her, never realizing what privilege it was. Harley and Jean enjoyed a lifetime together. They met in kindergarten Harley proposed at age 14 and they were married for 51 happy years. Even in his last days, Harley was worrying about how his "bride" was feeling. Aside from his family, Harley loved his cottage, his car, his grass, his workshop and a good game of cards. He was a successful businessman who served as a mentor for many individuals along the way. Harley was a man to be counted on when help was needed. Passed away peacefully on Friday, September 16, 2005 at London Health Sciences Centre after a difficult battle with lung cancer in his 70th year. Beloved husband of Wilhelmina ROOYAKKERS (nee EBBEN.) Loving father of Frank (Debbie) and Mike (Therese.) Cherished Opa of Jessica, Taylor, Nicholas and Ryan. Loving brother of relatives in Canada, Australia, United States and The Netherlands. The family will receive Friends and relatives at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1997 Dundas Street East (at Wavell), London for visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 19, 2005 at 4 p.m. In memory, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated. ARCHER, Leonard Howard
Born August 20, 1927 - passed away suddenly in Oakville, Ontario on October 20, 2005. (Retired Dispatcher from Canadian National Railway). His hobbies were flying instructor, travelling, playing the piano, and most of all his wood working. Loving husband of Dorothy for 47 years. Leaves behind his sisters Dorothy SMITH (Lorne,) Vivian HETHERINGTON (Kent,) Audrey BROWN, and Margaret GAYNES (Jack). Brother-in-laws, Arnold (Rita) and Peter GERMANN (Collen). Sister-in-law Hilda (Joe) ROOYAKKERS. Fondly remembered by his nephews and nieces. Funeral Service was held on Monday, October 24, 2005 at the Oakview Funeral Home, Oakville, Ontario.
Final resting place at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens.

CHURCH, Robert B.
Born 1928, entered into rest suddenly, at his home in Lindsay, on Thursday, April 28, 2005. Bob CHURCH, in his 77th year, was the loving husband of Dorothy Jean (née CUMMING) and predeceased by his first wife Dorothy (née GRAY/GREY.) Sadly missed by his children Judy (Warren) HURREN, Bob Jr. (Patricia), Susan (Tracy) and Vicki (Jim) ATHANASSIOU. Loved grandfather of Christopher, Katherine, Elizabeth HURREN, Lori PIDGEON, Julie, Bobby CHURCH, George and Michael ATHANASSIOU. Proud great-grandfather of Jacob, Joshua, Emily, Grace and Claire. Bob will be missed by Dorothy Jean's family, Linda (Jerry) WILSON, Margaret (Peter) THACKERAY and Heather (Bill) ROOYAKKERS. Grandpa Bob was loved by Evan, Carla, Laura and Sarah. Bob was the son of the late Thomas and Hattie CHURCH, and the youngest brother of Thomas, William, Jack and Thelma CHURCH. Beloved wife of Petrus SCHAAP. Cherished mother of Ria JOHNSON (Wayne.) Will always be missed by grandchildren Keri and Sara JOHNSON and Jeff and Kevin BILL. Predeceased by Morey and Lisa BILL.
