WILEY, Ruth (née FURLONG)
It is with quiet sorrow and consent that the family announces the passing of our mother: a little less than an angel and embodying great nobility of spirit. At the Brantford General Hospital, April 11, 2005, Ruth WILEY, in her 78th year; beloved wife of the late F.F. (Bud) WILEY; dear mother of Mary and Tony LAVALLEE of Burlington; Christopher WILEY and Cheryl KERNAGHAN of Paris Judith WILEY and Colin TREVITT of Mount Pleasant; Joe and Averil WILEY of Oakville; Helen and Bill QUINTON of Vancouver; predeceased by a son Paul; dear grandma to Nicholas, Benjamin and Ann LAVALLEE, Sarah Ruth TREVITT, Andrew, Eric and Victoria WILEY, Julia, Laurie, and Mary QUINTON; sister to Helen FURLONG of York Mills and the late Harry FURLONG of Scarborough. A devout wife and mother who became extraordinarily wise and discerning. She accepted what is, and in so doing knew the best thing to do in all circumstances. She was down to earth, inspiring, and hopeful. The truth will be heard, and it is this: Life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved. Once again, a Resurrection has followed her Passion: be delighted to hear that she is now living in, and with Nobility. The family will receive Friends at the 'Thorpe Brothers Funeral Home and Chapel', 96 West Street, Brantford on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Basil's Roman Catholic Church, 50 Palace Street, Brantford on Saturday April 16, 2005 at 11 a.m. followed by cremation. TAILOR/TAYLOR, Katherine " Kate" Jean, B.A. (Queen's,) B.Com. (Guelph)
On Wednesday, November 30, 2005, a life too short, but one filled with a fierce enthusiasm for living, came to an end. Kate died at home in the arms of her beloved husband Michael AZULAY, surrounded by her loving family. Her passing will leave an unspeakable void in the hearts and lives of her cherished children, Isaac, Naomi and Isabelle, her parents Sandra and Don TAILOR/TAYLOR of Kingston, her sister and best friend Susan TAILOR/TAYLOR and husband Rob MURPHY of Toronto, her loved brother Geoff TAILOR/TAYLOR and his wife Meriel of Colebrook, Ontario. She will also be greatly missed by her mother-in-law Jean AZULAY of Dunrobin, Ontario and all of Michael's brothers and sisters and their spouses - Kim, Karen, Gina MULVIE and John WATSON, Tracy and Luigi PORCARI, Curtis and Elaine and Tara and Mark RIGLEY. Kate also leaves 18 nieces and nephews. Kate was a tremendously positive force in every facet of life. She was passionate in life as a wife, as a mother and as a friend. She was incredibly beautiful, bright, strong-willed, witty, soft and warm. We are better people today, more complete, because Kate was integral and an influential part of our lives. We will miss her terribly - we already do. During times of darkness, great light and support were provided by a tremendous network of Friends, neighbours, colleagues, everyone at Anthem and most importantly Kate's healthcare team. Special thanks to Doctors Stephanie LAFRAMBOISE, Ian QUIRT, Helen PYLE, Lynn BENJAMIN and to her palliative care nurse specialist Sharilee COX- ARSNEAULT. A private family service will be held in Kate's honour with a celebration of life to follow in the new year for many people whose lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, we respectfully request donations to Wellspring of Halton Peel or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
