on February 6, 2005 from lymphoma and viral infections, originating
from Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. Born in Winnipeg on
November 9, 1946, he was the younger
son of William Lewis

at the University of Manitoba and at the University of Pittsburgh,
and took a doctorate cum laude in English literature at the University
of Toronto in 1975. After teaching at the universities of Trent,
Victoria and Alberta, he returned to Toronto where he worked
as a computer programmer and a writer, and was active in causes
in the gay community. He is survived by his sister, Anne

of Winnipeg; his brother Orde in Toronto; his aunts Betty
MORTON
and Honora
PHILLIPS and his uncles, Harry

and many cousins in Western Canada, Ontario, New Zealand and
