Stabbing killed single mom, 24
A 24-year-old single mother who was found bleeding to death in
her ex-boyfriend's east-end apartment Tuesday died of a stab
wound to the chest, an autopsy has concluded.
Police were called to an apartment on Glamorgan Ave., near Kennedy
Rd. and Highway 401, around 5 a.m. Tuesday. There, they found
Lydia GAYLE bleeding from the chest. The mother of an 8-year-old
was later pronounced dead in hospital.
The victim was unemployed and lived with her mother, police said.
There was no history of violence in her relationship with her
ex-boyfriend, police added.
Shawn PERSAUD, 20, is charged with second-degree murder and is
scheduled to appear in court again tomorrow. Police are not looking
for any other suspects.

Emmle was a Veteran of the Royal Air Force in World War 2 in
Malta. He emigrated to Canada in 1948. He retired from the Department
of Immigration after 30 years in Niagara Falls and Hamilton.

at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, the nurses, para-meds and occupational
therapists of the Community Care Access Centre and to the wonderful
staff and priests of St. Peter's Hospital. ln lieu of flowers,
