Wife of the late Donald PASSIEN of Chatham, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 with all her family by her side. Born in London, England, 84 years ago, daughter of the late Allard Clement BENN and Rose Elizabeth HEYWARD. Poppy was a past member of the Kinnette's, a member of the Alliance Auxiliary where she enjoyed selling Nevada Tickets on Fridays. Loving mother of Wendy SAMS and husband Gord of London, Bob PASSIEN and wife Patti of Chatham and Julie COLYER and husband Albert of Jackson's Point, Ontario. Dear Nana to Cari-Anne PASSIEN- GARDNER and husband Gord GARDNER of Chatham, Jennifer PASSIEN- HUDSON and husband Nick HUDSON of Malvern, England, Stephanie SAMS and husband Jeff FURLER of London, and Jeff SAMS of Hamilton. Happy to have been Great-Nana to William, Harrison, and Maddox HUDSON and Jessica FURLER. Also surviving are a sister Paula LYNN and husband Michael of London, England, special cousin Derek HAVIS of Exeter, England and several nieces and nephews in England and New Zealand. Predeceased by two sisters Sheila BENN and Patricia HARDY, three brothers Leslie, Ralph and Victor BENN. At Poppy's request there will be no visitation. Peacefully at Cama Woodlands Nursing Home, Burlington, on February 11, 2005, in her 91st year. Loving wife of Lorne C. ELDER for 62 years. Predeceased by her parents, one sister, six brothers and grandchild Scott. Survived by sister-in-law Leone PASSMORE of Aylmer, Ontario. Will be sadly missed by her children, Ken ELDER (Carol) of Ottawa, Jean MacBRIDE (Bob) of Cumberland Center, Maine, Kathy FULMER (Ray) of Waterdown, John ELDER (Cheryl) of Belleville. Beloved Grandmother of Eric, Ingrid, Ajana, Garrick, Sara, Aubrey and Mark. Sue's greatest wish in life was that all her family and Friends would enjoy life and take advantage of any new opportunities or challenges. Friends and family were very important to Sue. We were all deeply inspired by such a fun loving Mom and wife and have wonderful memories of a life lived to its fullest. Her infectious smile and hearty laugh remained with her through her final days. Sue would have wished to express her thanks to Dr. CROSS and Dr. JONES who were so caring and attentive and to the staff at Cama Woodlands for their loving care. Cremation has taken place. Audrey peacefully departed this life at Ottawa Hospital - General Campus, surrounded by the love and support of her family. She was the great love, best friend and soul-mate of husband Bill for over 61 years. Lovingly remembered and missed by her children Helen (Dave McWHIRTER), Laura (Erich HABER), Fran (Gary PRIESTMAN), Bill (Lou-Ann) and Mary (Humberto LOISELLE.) Cherished grandmother of Scott, Stephen, Ian, Aaron (Kristin), Allison, Katherine, David, Ashley and Carey-Anne and great-grandmother to Ooma. She was predeceased by daughter Shirley and grandchildren Andy, Sarah and David. Audrey was born in Toronto as were her parents Francis PASSMORE and Helen KENNEDY. She leaves behind her dear sister Shirley STEWARD/STEWART/STUART and brothers Jim and Frank and sister-in-law, Hilda HUMENIUK. She is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Audrey spent her life in Toronto until January 2000, when she and Bill moved to Ottawa where Laura and Erich, and Mary and Bert and their families were able to assist Dad in caring for Audrey in her declining health. She especially enjoyed the celebration of her 60th wedding anniversary last July that brought together so many family and Friends. Audrey became physically disabled which necessitated a move to Starwood-Extendicare shortly after the anniversary celebration. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff and care providers of Starwood who cared for Audrey with affection and respect and ensured her stay there was comfortable. Family will receive Friends on Friday, April 29, 2005 at the Pine Hills Cemetery (625 Birchmount Road, Toronto, Ontario) from 1: 30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service in the Chapel at 2: 30 p.m. Interment to follow. Predeceased by his ever loving wife and soulmate of 49 years Doris (COLEMAN) in 1992. He will be greatly missed by his only daughter Betty Jane McGEE (Marlin John,) Etobicoke. After a valiant and courageous fight, Rosa, in the 69th year of her life, has passed on to the other side of life at home in the arms of her loving husband, daughter and her son-in-law, and is now resting, finally at peace in the loving arms of God. Rosa is going to be terribly missed by Silvino her loving and devoted husband of 44 years and forever cherished, loved and remembered by her loving daughter Cristina and her husband Tony. She also will be sadly missed by her sisters Lucinda (Antonio), Maria Antonieta (José) and by her many nieces and nephews. We are extremely grateful for the unending support and prayers of all the Friends who did not let her fight her disease alone. Rosa treasured their shared moments. Rosa will be resting at the Cardinal Funeral Home, 366 Bathurst St. (at Dundas). The family of Syd HASTED are saddened to announce his passing on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 after a brief illness at the Toronto Western Hospital. The son of the late Charles and Elizabeth HASTED. Predeceased by his ever loving wife and soulmate of 49 years Doris (COLEMAN) in 1992. He will be greatly missed by his only daughter Betty Jane McGEE (Marlin JOHN) of Etobicoke. He is survived by his grandchildren Nadine PASTERNAK (Jason,) Timmins and Dr. Andre BISSON (Dr. Mindy PHO) of Etobicoke; his 3 great-grandchildren Mark, Tyler and Shyla PASTERNAK of Timmins; his sister Grace BELFORD (formerly of Tottenham) and his brother-in-law Dr. John A. He enjoyed boating, fishing, golf, traveling the world, his life Friendships, but above all family. We will miss you.
