in retail for his impeccable taste in clothing as he outfitted
many of Toronto's best dressed men. Visitation at the R.S. Kane
Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street (at Goulding, south of Steeles)
on Thursday March 17th, 2005 from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service
will be held in the Chapel at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home on Friday

Ward was an Royal Canadian Air Force veteran of
over four years having served two and a half years overseas.
He was a graduate of Urban Junior College, Urbana, Ohio, McMaster
University and the University of Toronto School of Social Work.
He was a Child Care Supervisor of the Hamilton Children's Aid
Society and Superintendent of the Belleville Children's Aid Society
before joining the Ontario Probation Service in 1954 as a Probation
Officer in Orillia, supervising juvenile and adult probation
and parole and Federal Parole. He became an Area Manager in Central
Ontario until an early retirement in 1979 due to ill health.
He was a member of the Mount Hope Lions Club, The Orillia Rotary
Club, The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 469, Elmira and a 56 year
member of the Masonic Order-Orillia Lodge.
At Ward's request, cremation has taken place. A private family
committal service will take place at the Ayr Cemetery. The family
will receive Friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral
Home, Elmira for a memorial visitation on Sunday, October 23,
2005 from 2-4 p.m. only. In his memory, donations to the Memorial
Fund of St. Aidans Church, Elmira or the charity of your choice
would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.

Lin died November 10, 2005. Born in 1914, his life was a marriage
between 20th century China and Canada. As a student he was active
in the May 4th Chinese nationalist movement. In 1936 he obtained
a Boxer rebellion scholarship, a prestigious award paid for from
reparations payments generously given back to China by the United
States. After a PhD from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania,
he went to work for Inco in Sudbury, where he met Ming, a Canadian
doctor. Together they returned to Tianjin under United Nations
Relief and Rehabilitation Agency, working for two years on China's
reconstruction. As Lin Biao's army triumphed in Manchuria, they
decided to return to Canada, and on the boat they had a second
son. Lin worked as a research scientist for Energy Mines and
Resources Canada in Ottawa. In his retirement, he took up the
hobby of solving Laplace transforms and returned to Nankai University
to teach themodynamics. Lin leaves sons and daughters in law

Art will be sadly missed by his sons John and James and his wife
Barbara. Art was blessed with his grandchildren Vanessa (Michael
MacLEOD,) and Brandon (Nora) and great-grandchildren Christian,
Juliana, Grace and Abigail. Predeceased by his sisters Ethel,
Gladys and Mary. Art was born June 6, 1908 at Kingston, Ontario
and attended school in Odessa and Napanee. Arthur worked for
the Bank of Nova Scotia in Toronto for 43 years. He was blessed
with good health and a long and happy retirement. Arthur's wife
Margaret (née
STOYLE) passed away in 1991 after 47 happy years
together, with many pleasant summers spent at their trailer at
Young's Point, Ontario. Arthur enjoyed the companionship of Marjorie
SCOTLAND in his final years and they spent many happy times together.
He was very active, and made many dear Friends, in both the Masonic
Lodge, Runnymede Chapter and Morningside High Park Presbyterian
Church. Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel,
2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, on
Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral
