KENNEDY, Lenore (née REAY)
Of Hanover, passed away at Hanover Care Centre, on Wednesday, January 26th, 2005. She was 93. Born in Bentinck Township, daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (BROWN) REAY. Lenore worked at the Durham and Hanover Hospitals as an R.N., until retiring and was a member of the Bentinck Women's Fellowship and the Federated Farm Women. Survived by daughters, Doreen and husband, Dean PAGE, of Waterloo, Shirley and husband, Robert HUNSPERGER, of Hanover grandchildren, Nancy and Gary CONWAY, Gwen and Don ROTH, Tracey and Chris SURDYKOWSKI, all of Waterloo, Cathy and Andy HILL, of Orangeville, Kim and Dale BECKER, of Ayton, Randall and Debby HUNSPERGER, of Kitchener, Rob and Wendy HUNSPERGER, of R.R.#3, Hanover; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grand_son. Also survived by brother, Claren and wife, Ada REAY, of Hanover. Predeceased by husband, Walter KENNEDY; great-grand_son, Lucas and brothers, Aylmer and Royden REAY. Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Friday, 2: 00 to 4:00 and 7: 00 to 9:00 p.m., where a Funeral Service will be held, Saturday, January 29th, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m. Pastor Bob LITTLE officiating. Metzler Automotive and had his M.B.A. from Western in 2000 "Millennium Men" and was also the Campaign chairperson for the United Way in Oakville, Welland, Ontario and Reidsville, North Carolina, James was also a Sponsor and Mentor of the Richard Ivy School of Business, Western University, E.M.B.A. and was awarded the Corporate Citizen of the year by the Reidsville, North Carolina Chamber of Commerce in 1999. He was the owner of Color Your World on Hespeler Road, Cambridge. At James request, cremation has taken place. Predeceased▼ by his parents Herbert and Lottie PAGE, sister Frances SHIER and brother-in-law Dr. Crawford SHIER. Fondly▼ remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and Friends. Bud served his country in the Royal Canadian Air Force radar (England and North Africa) from 1942 to 1945. He was a well known builder and renovator in North Toronto. In the 50's he was an Akela for Eglinton United Church 118th Cub Pack. For 11 years he volunteered at the Sunnybrook Hospital in the wood working shop of the Creative Arts Department. A long time member of the Men's Bridge Club at Leaside United Church, and member of Northlea United Church since 1954. Our thanks to Dr. M. QUILTER our family doctor, Dr. J. RIEGER and Dr. Leah STEINBERG both of the Temmy Latner Centre, and the wonderful staff of D Floor and K1 East at The Sunnybrook Hospital. Cremation has taken place. C.D., M.D. (U of T '36), D.P.H., F.R.C.P.C., F.A.P.H.A., M.R.S.H., beloved husband of Elizabeth Agnes (ALEXANDER,) and father of children, Robert William Francis, Peter Lionel, Lynda Diane (MacAuley), Stephen Lawrence and Susan Alice (Ryan), died in his 98th year Tuesday morning at 8: 00 in Surrey, British Columbia, while holding the hand of his loving wife. He is succeeded by many cousins, of which Dr. William ROBERTSON and Robert HARRIS were among his best Friends, as was his brother-in-law, Alfred HARRIS. Eleven▼ grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren also succeed him. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edith at St. Joseph's Health Centre on Wednesday, October 12, 2005. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Harry DURRANT. Beloved sister of George, Sally and the late Maggie, William, James, Ethel, Mary, Grace and Robert, and sister-in-law of Elva WANE and Dorothy MacDONALD. MORRISON, Evelyn Doris (née POTTER)
(November 2, 1904-October 23, 2005)
Peacefully at Community Care Nursing Home, Port Hope, in her 101st year. Born in Birmingham, England, to John Thomas POTTER (1874-1959) and Amy Clara (CALDICOTT) POTTER (1874-1944,) the third of four children, Alfred John (1897-1902), Gladys Gertrude (PAGE) (1900-1952,) and Cyril Charles (1911-1986.) Evelyn came to Toronto in 1923 with her family and married William Reynolds MORRISON in 1938. In 1940, Shirley-Anne was born, who became Mrs. John James SMITH in 1958. Evelyn and Bill operated a corner store (Becky's Variety) in the Beaches area of Scarborough for 8 years. Widowed in 1980, Evelyn later moved to Russell, Ontario, with her granddaughter. She was Nana to three grandchildren, Rebecca Evelyn (1959), David William John (1961) and Jacob Rand (1973). David and Shaela presented her with three great-grandchildren, Nathaniel William John (1986), Matthew David (1989), and Molly Evelyn (1991). Rebecca adopted Amy Elizabeth Chun-Feng in 2001 (born 2000), and Emily Kathleen Lin-Xia in 2004 (born 2003). Jacob and Carrie had Evelyn Victoria in 2005. Evelyn was loved and will be greatly missed by her nieces, Jean COBB (Cliff) and Muriel WHITWORTH (Eric) of Toronto, and nephews Kenneth PAGE (Pat) of Aurora and William MCINNES/MCINNIS (Lorna) of Texas, U.S.A. She was predeceased by Dorothy PETERSON of Texas, U.S.A. She leaves many great and great-great nieces and nephews. A service will take place at the Pine Hills Cemetery Chapel (Kennedy Road and St. Clair Ave. E., Scarborough), on Saturday at 2: 00 o'clock, with visitation from 12: 30 p.m. until time of service. Following interment at Pine Hills Cemetery, refreshments will be served from 2: 30 to 4:30 o'clock in the Pine Hills Reception Centre. GIBSON, John (November 14, 1910-November 3, 2005)
Peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Brant Centre in Burlington, Ontario, on November 3, 2005, a few days before his 95th birthday, John left his family to join the love of his life, Viola COTE. Born in Bolton, England in 1910, John immigrated to Canada in 1912 with his parents, the late Francis GIBSON and the late Mary Ann QUEENAN. John will be sadly missed by his four daughters, Irene (the late Eugene GAUTHIER) of Montreal, Dawn (Bob FORTIN) of Ottawa, Joy (Tom CLANCY) of Burlington, and Gay Rose PAGE of Burlington. Loving grandfather to Patricia, Lisa, and Steven (GAUTHIER,) Serena and Samantha (FORTIN,) Samantha and Bob (CLANCY,) Jeffrey, Andrew, Brandon and Meggy (PAGE). Loving great-grandfather to Andrew, Jasmine, Stephen, Jane Eugenie, Faith, Blake, Gabrielle, Samuel, Mary-Anne and baby Carter. Our last 5 days with Dad, as he journeyed home, were filled with love, laughter and celebration of a long life well lived. Our heartfelt thanks to the Angels at the Brant Centre for their loving care. At John's request, the visitation will be private. Interment will take place in Montreal on November 12th. Passed away peacefully at St. Catharines General Hospital, in her 82nd year. Helen SERIO of St. Catharines, formerly of Toronto and Orillia. Beloved mother of Ronald PYE (predeceased;) Linda JEFFRIES of Niagara-on-the-Lake; Leo SERIO and wife Sheila of Oakville; and Marie and husband Ron WHITE/WHYTE of Barrie.
