Mrs. Jeanne Maria JANSSENS a resident of Port Lambton passed away on Monday Juanuary 24, 2005 at C.K.H.A. Sydenham Campus, in Wallaceburg at the age of 92 years. She was born in Hoboken, Belgium and was a daughter of the late Jozef and Maria (PALMANS) SOMERS. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and the C.W.L. in Port Lambton. Jeanne immigrated to Canada in 1949 with her husband and children. They had resided in Blenhiem and Leamington until they farmed on the 5th concession of Sombra Township. Beloved wife of the late Edward H. JANSSENS (1979.) Loving mother and mother-in-law of Georgette and the late Roger Apers of Tupperville, Yvonne and Hector VAN DAMME of Wallaceburg, George and Marcia JANSSENS of Dresden, Frank and Nancy JANSSENS of Port Huron, Christine JANSSENS and her friend David FREED of Victoria, British Columbia and Margaret and Joe VERHOEVEN of Chatham. Sadly missed by 21 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Kind sister-in-law of Rosalia JANSSENS of Belgium and August and Josephine JANSSENS of Kerwood. Idella DEMERS, 102 years old, passed away March 10, 2005 at the Sydenham Residence in Wallaceburg. She leaves to mourn her 10 remaining children, 49 grandchildren, 74 great grandchildren and 12 great, great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, two sons and three daughters, 3 grand_sons and 4 granddaughters. She is survived by three sisters Lauretta, Marie and Kate. Thank you to the girls at Sydenham Residence for everything you did for mom. Thank you to Dr. McELLIGOTT, Maurice LAUWEREYS and Jennie DEWOLF for giving her communion and Maurice for bringing her baked goods. She always had a sweet tooth. Her good neighbours Lois and Glenn MYERS, the women from the C.W.L., which she was with over 70 years, thank you to all of you. To Father John PIRT for your hugs you gave her on her 100th birthday, you really put a smile on her face. Her two Friends from Chatham, she had many, many Friends, I can't begin to name everyone of you, but you know who you are, thank you for your phone calls and visits, all of you made her day. Mother was the kind of Mom where her children came first. She was always there for us, no matter what. She was a hard working woman, she fostered many kids, boarded girls and she treated them all like her own. She will be deeply missed and there is no other like my mother. She always wanted to go home, well mom, you are now, and God, you have her with you. Put your arms around her and give her all the T.L.C. she so well deserves. She was in the 1927 graduating class of R.N's from Public General Hospital. She was a member of the Nurses Alumni of Public General Hospital. Bertha was a Supervising Operating Registered Nurse with Public General Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Edwin "Owen" McCREARY (1982.) Dear mother and mother-in-law of Helen and Glen LAWTON of Chatham and Howard and the late Beverley McCREARY (2004) of Wallaceburg. BELLSTEDT, Arnulf Norbert Vreede (1926-2005)
Arnulf BELLSTEDT of Kincardine, Ontario passed away suddenly on June 10th, 2005 of a ruptured aneurism. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Brigitte, son Ralph, grand_sons Mark and Michael, daughter Christiane (Neil MYERS,) grand_sons Nicholas and Stefan, brothers Ralph, Friedel and their wives, sister Karin and the many nieces, nephews and cousins around the world. Arnulf was born in Bremen, Germany in 1926. Shortly thereafter the family moved to Cape Town, South Africa. He received his degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa and it was there that he met and married Brigitte in 1955. In 1961 Arnulf and family immigrated to Peterborough, Ontario, where he worked at Canadian General Electric, in the nuclear division. In 1968 he joined Ontario Hydro where he was involved in the construction of the Pickering A Generating Station. In 1971, the family moved to the shores of Lake Huron, at Kincardine. There Arnulf completed his career as Manager of Construction, Bruce N.P.D. Arnulf had pursued his career in nuclear generating plant construction with a passion and a conviction that nuclear power (Candu) was a safe and clean form of electrical energy and that it was indeed a Canadian success story made possible by the ingenuity and hard work of all those involved. In the last three years Arnulf endured much pain, sometimes interrupted by the odd good day. It was at these times that he would still undertake a project around the house. He was thankful for that and never felt sorry for himself. Life was still interesting to him right to the end. Arnulf was a special man, with a wonderful sense of humour. Those who met him, and got to know him, recognized that he was a man of integrity, who was fair and honest. We would like to thank the many Friends and neighbours for their kind and generous support. Passed away peacefully at St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto on August 11, 2005, at the age of 74, after a long illness. Beloved husband of Hilda and proud, loving father of Carol. Dear brother of Eunice MYERS, Kerrville, Texas; and Glenn ROBINSON (Elizabeth,) Windsor, Nova Scotia. Dear uncle of Natalie ROBINSON. Don will be sadly missed by his aunts and several cousins in Nova Scotia and relatives elsewhere. Peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 27th, 2005. Cherished wife of David for 53 years. Fondly remembered by their children Pamela (Robert) SCOTT, Lyndsey STEWARD/STEWART/STUART, Karen (Ralph) MAURO and David STEWARD/STEWART/STUART Jr., and also two grandchildren Jesse and Chloe SCOTT. Dearly missed by her sister Shirley (Lloyd) ANNING and their children and families. Raye loved to travel and work in the garden and was also an active member of the Greater Niagara General Hospital Auxiliary. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gloria Ann SAUNDERS at the Carpenter Hospice, Burlington on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at the age of 55. Gloria's four years of fighting breast cancer has come to an end, but her compassion for others to beat this disease, lives on forever. Beloved wife of Alan SAUNDERS. Loving mother of Matthew SAUNDERS. Born November 18, 1934 and died peacefully, November 24, 2005, after a short battle with cancer. Beloved husband and best friend of his wife of 45 years Eva JOKAY. Devoted▲ father of Martin and Marcella and father-in-law of Gary MYERS. Much▲ loved grandfather of Max and Jake. Emil immigrated to Canada from Czechoslovakia in October 1968 to give him and his family a chance at a better life. After re-certifying in Paediatric medicine in 1971 he worked in private practice and as a staff Paediatrician at St. Joseph's Hospital until shortly before his death. Emil was a passionate man who met all the challenges of his life with dignity, determination and pride. His love and commitment to his family, and Friends and patients touched all who knew him.
