MULLHOLLAND,

John
It is with great sadness and sorrow that our family announces
his passing on June 29, 2005 at the age of 66. He died in the
loving arms of his wife Denise at their home after a long and
courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his father Leslie
and mother Morwen. Beloved and loving husband of Denise. Loved
and loving father of Mark, Kathleen and Marcel. beloved grandfather
of Martin, Jesse, Sonny, Adam, Mykola, Matthew, Nadya and Marcus.
He will be fondly remembered by his daughters-in-law Susan, Petrusia
and predeceased by son-in-law Gerry. Also survived by his sister
Maureen and brothers Leslie and Paul. Born in Bournemouth, England
in 1939 where he lived as a youth through World War 2. He often
spoke about hiding under the stairs with his mother, brothers
and sister when the bombs were being dropped. At age 9 he and
his family came to Canada. During the voyage he would run his
Dinky cars up and down the corridor as the ship would go up and
down each wave. On that voyage he also saved his brother Leslie
from falling off the ship. In Canada he advanced quickly in school.
He was a fearless youth who always found trouble from falling
into a lime pit, climbing on ice drifts in Lake Ontario and swinging
on ropes over the Scarborough Bluffs. He loved doing his Toronto
Star paper route. He spent most of this time with his sister
Maureen and their adventures. He loved to camp, fish and was
a Boy Scout Patrol Leader at the World Scout Jamboree at Niagara-on-the-Lake.
He often loved to take his brother Paul to Algonquin Park for
camping trips. During Hurricane Hazel he crossed water up to
his armpits to get to work at the Willow Theatre where he was
an usher. He loved working on the Woods Heritage Farm fixing
all the tractors and other equipment. At 18 he joined the Air
Force and became a radar technician. While stationed in Bagotville,
Quebec, he fell in love with and married his wife Denise. While
there he started his own company, "Laboratoire Electronique"
during which time Mark and Kathleen were born. He moved back
to Scarborough and worked for Cartwright T.V. His son Marcel
was born during those years. He was one of the partners of the
company when he decided to try something new. Mike had taken
up cycling and was excelling at the sport, winning Provincial
and National medals including becoming the Canadian National
Champion. Mike gave endlessly to the sport and its development
of athletes through being on multiple provincial and national
committees and being both a coach and commissare. His passion
for cycling led him, along with his wife, to start Cyclops Custom
Bicycles. Throughout the years each of his children worked at
the factory with them. He became a world renowned framebuilder,
with his bikes being used to win medals at World and other International
events. After retiring last year he spent his time working on
his other passion, restoring classic cars and trucks. He had
over 40 cars and trucks over his life and was always working
on some vehicle. He was passionate about family and always was
there to help and guide them. He suffered terribly with the cancer
but is at peace now with God. We will miss him so very much.
We will be having a celebration of his life on Sunday, July 3,
2005, at his home at 204 Dickhout Rd., Lowbanks, Ontario between
11: 00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, only plantable foliage
or donations to cancer research please.
