Many will mourn the passing of someone who served his
community with generosity, both professionally and as a volunteer.
A respected anaesthetist at the Peterborough hospitals for over
45 years, medicine was Jim's life passion. His enquiring mind
led him to study and apply acupuncture as part of his practice
of pain management. Jim was a generous patron of the arts in
Peterborough, an avid bird watcher and prolific rug hooker. Some
of his happiest times were putting a fussy baby to sleep with
his warmth and calm or helping out in someone's kitchen. A memorial
service will be held at Murray Street Baptist Church, 175 Murray
Street, Peterborough on Saturday, September 10, 2005 at 2 p.m.
with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations
to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation would be
appreciated by his family. Written notes of condolence should
be forwarded to the family c/o 8 Princeton Road, Toronto, Ontario,

MOSSOP,
Grant
Dilworth
Died of a brain aneurysm on October 7th, 2005 in Calgary, Alberta,
aged 57. Predeceased by his parents, Freida and Cyril, he is
survived by his precious family: Ruth; Jenny, Ian and Eloise
Jonathan and Erin; and David; sister Elaine and her family, and
brother Glenn and his family. The geological communities of both
provincial and federal governments, as well as the University
of Calgary, provided the vessel for the outpouring of his passion
for and knowledge of the geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary
Basin. Grant was a born leader/teacher. This was revealed in
the clarity of his intellect, the strength of his resolve, the
kindness of his heart, the inspiration of his vision, the levity
of his humour, the vulnerability of his sensitive soul to goodness
and artistry in all its forms. We remember the graciousness,
gratitude and affection of his presence amongst us. Grant's memorial
service will be held on Friday, October 14th at 1 p.m. in the
Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall, Rozsa Centre, University of Calgary.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations be made to
the University of Calgary, in memory of Dr. Grant
