MOSSOP, Grant Dilworth
Died of a brain aneurysm on October 7th, 2005 in Calgary, Alberta, aged 57. Predeceased by his parents, Freida and Cyril, he is survived by his precious family: Ruth; Jenny, Ian and Eloise Jonathan and Erin; and David; sister Elaine and her family, and brother Glenn and his family. The geological communities of both provincial and federal governments, as well as the University of Calgary, provided the vessel for the outpouring of his passion for and knowledge of the geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. Grant was a born leader/teacher. This was revealed in the clarity of his intellect, the strength of his resolve, the kindness of his heart, the inspiration of his vision, the levity of his humour, the vulnerability of his sensitive soul to goodness and artistry in all its forms. We remember the graciousness, gratitude and affection of his presence amongst us. Grant's memorial service will be held on Friday, October 14th at 1 p.m. in the Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall, Rozsa Centre, University of Calgary. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations be made to the University of Calgary, in memory of Dr. Grant MOSSOP.
