LYONS, Terrence Cecil Gregory
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Terrence Cecil Gregory LYONS, of Sarnia and formerly of London, Ontario, on October 16, 2005 in his 68th year. Terry was born in Kenora, Ontario January 3, 1937. Terry was the only son of Cecil and Gerda LYONS (deceased.) He will be greatly missed by his four daughters, Marlea OATES (Hanover,) Kim DAVIDSON (Rob) (Grimsby,) Sue McCABE (Gary) (Sarnia) and Laura DORIA (Nick) (Toronto.) He will be greatly missed by Janet LYONS. Beloved brother of three sisters, Beverly DORKO (Zole,) Marcia LAPSLEY (John) and Bonnie MILLINER (Russ.) Cherished grandfather of Matthew and Erica, Verity, Nathan and Jessie, and Alysha and Michael. Terry will be missed by two aunts Norma West LINDER and Catherine LINDER, and several nieces and nephews. Terry served with the Royal Canadian Navy joining in 1955 and received his commission in 1972. His naval career prepared him for many years in the marine industry at Atlas Steel (Quebec), Sandrin Brothers (Sarnia) and Texaco Canada (Toronto). He had a keen interest in art and music, entertaining many Friends and family over the years. His pencil drawings of heritage buildings in London are proudly displayed. In the last 4 years Terry resided at Afton Park Place, where he became known as "The Boss", where he shared many a coffee and Friendship with all of the wonderful staff. He will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be conducted at Afton Park Place, 1200 Afton Dr. Sarnia on Wednesday, October 19th at 2 p.m. Donations would be greatly appreciated by the family to Afton Park Place in Terry's memory.

Of Marshall Gowland Manor, Sarnia, Ontario passed away on November 17, 2005 at Bluewater Health Mitton Street Site at the age of 84. She was born on March 28, 1921 in Fullarton Township to Elmer and Olive (DOW) SCOTT. She married Nelson Garnet BRYDGES on November 29, 1941. Survived by loving husband of almost 64 years Nelson BRYDGES, Sarnia and also by her loving daughters who will miss her very much Geraldine and her husband Donald STEWARD/STEWART/STUART, Mooretown and their family Carolyn and Joe STONEHOUSE, their children Tyler and Nathan MATER, Beau, Brett and Ben STONEHOUSE, Corunna and Brian and Pat STEWARD/STEWART/STUART and their children Matthew, Michael and Kate, Mooretown, and Bonnie and her husband Ross GENNOE, Strathroy and their sons (Audrey's special grand_sons) Rob GENNOE, Point Edward and Dan GENNOE, Strathroy. Stabbings kill woman, 62, injure daughter
Neighbours watch in horror through patio door as woman attacked

A Toronto family that spans five generations has to find a way to go on without their "Nana" after she was stabbed to death in an incident that also left her daughter critically injured.
The man who attacked them was shot dead minutes later by Toronto police.
Just before that, a teenage girl described by family members as the dead woman's granddaughter escaped death when a group of neighbours fought off the attacker's attempt to drag her back inside a townhouse at 1898 Sheppard Ave. W. near Jane St.
Pandora WHITE/WHYTE, 62, was killed late Friday in her home by her adoptive brother, Ucal LAUZON, 34, family members and neighbours said as they gathered outside the home yesterday.
"We lost the major link to a chain, the major source to a family that stays together," said Kathleen MILLINGTON, a family member who spoke to the Star outside the neat townhouse where WHITE/WHYTE lived with her granddaughter, Rochelle.
Horrified neighbours watched shortly after 10: 30 p.m. Friday as the man they identified as Lauzon, described by family members as an adoptive brother, stabbed WHITE/WHYTE's daughter Marcia ALLYNE, 37, just metres away on the other side of a glass sliding door.
A neighbour who wanted to be identified only as Kevin said he couldn't see a knife, but Lauzon struck Allyne repeatedly with an object.
"(Allyne) fought (back)," Kevin said. "I really respected that."
Minutes later, Lauzon was shot dead by police officers who arrived on the scene, neighbours said. He was pronounced dead at Sunnybrook hospital early yesterday.
Neighbours in the townhouse complex said they heard officers shout to Lauzon to drop his weapon several times before he was shot.
The provincial Special Investigations Unit, which probes civilian deaths involving police, is taking over the investigation.
A press release from the Special Investigations Unit said police officers arrived at approximately 11: 02 p.m. and found Allyne lying outside the house with "serious stab wounds."
"A Toronto Police Service officer was involved in a confrontation with a 34-year-old man, resulting in shots being fired."
Allyne is in critical condition at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre.
MILLINGTON told reporters WHITE/WHYTE was a "law-abiding citizen" and said the incident had nothing to do with drugs or any other kind of crime. "... I want that stated," she said.
Neighbours said Rochelle was in the house when the violence started and tried twice to get out.
The first time Lauzon dragged her back inside in front of horrified onlookers.
When she escaped a second time, she was taken inside the home of neighbour Zolikha WARDAK, whose family phoned 911.
"She was (covered) in so much blood, I thought she was hurt, too," WARDAK said.
Rochelle told her she had been in her bedroom when she heard an argument downstairs, WARDAK said.
The teen said she ran down to find WHITE/WHYTE on the couch, covered in blood.
Rochelle told WARDAK she had blood on her because she ran to WHITE/WHYTE and hugged her.
The teen told WARDAK that Lauzon was there and she tried to get away from him.
A neighbour who asked not to be identified said he was in his yard when he heard Rochelle screaming.
"I saw her come out," he said. "She came to us... She was trying to slide behind us."
He said Lauzon came out after her. "She started running. He was trying to grab her."
Rochelle tripped and fell, he said, and Lauzon dragged her inside.
"Moments later, she ran out again. So this time, we defended her."
He said that about half a dozen men from the neighbourhood formed a barrier between Lauzon and Rochelle.
Lauzon gave up and went back into the house, he said. Some of the men ran to WHITE/WHYTE's door and tried unsuccessfully to get inside.
WHITE/WHYTE was a registered nurse who worked with senior citizens, said Annette WALTERS- MILLINGTON, one of her three daughters.
WHITE/WHYTE also leaves her mother, 77, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
WHITE/WHYTE had lived in the community for more than 20 years and was loved by everyone, said a distraught Annette WALTERS- MILLINGTON, WHITE/WHYTE's daughter.
"Anybody that knows her calls her Nana...," Kevin said. "That's what we called her, out of respect."

Allan's story is one of great courage, determination and perseverance. Stricken by polio in the great epidemic of the early 1950's, he survived many traumatic months in an iron lung and returned to take his place as a valued employee of General Motors▼ of Canada and later EDS where his skills in computer programming were recognized. He retired in 1983. Allan determinedly persevered in many areas of interest among which were boating, hunting, marksmanship, metalworking and reading. Allan served on the Executive of the Ontario March of Dimes Local Advisory Committee, Chair of the Ontario March of Dimes local Post Polio chapter the Ontario March of Dimes Post Polio Committee, Allan received the governor General's award for his volunteer work with the March of Dimes. Allan also served on the executive of The Toronto Society of Model Engineers, The Oshawa's Marksmen's Club and the C.I.L.B. Allan was a contributor to many local and national charities. Len was the owner of Central Beauty Supply for fifty-seven years. He started in Windsor, spent many years in Chatham then locates in London. He was known by many people throughout Southwestern Ontario. He will be remembered by his many Friends and clients in the beauty business. Died peacefully, at home, on Thursday, July 21, 2005, at age 77. Beloved husband of Joan, step-father of Steven DAVIS (Sandra,▲) father of Sandra EDGAR (Jim,▲) Janis▲ MILLMAN (Maynard,) Stephen (Cheryl,) and Robert, and brother of Lloyd KERR. Also missed by 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents William and Ann KERR, sister Pearl COOK, brother Bill KERR, and granddaughter Colleen. John will be sadly missed by his family and many Friends. At his request, his body has been donated to medical research. No funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
