Sidney will be sadly missed by his brother-in-law John

Wendy SMITH, and many other nieces and nephews. Art leaves a
most wonderful legacy of personal and professional accomplishments
and a family who will cherish his memory forever. He was born
in Cuba, raised in Jamaica, and educated at McGill University
School of Architecture. After graduation Art moved to Sudbury,
the city he came to love, and started the architectural firm,
Townend, Stefura, Baleshta and Nicholls. He had a successful
career spanning 40 years. He contributed significantly to the
architectural landscape of Sudbury and the North. The firm won
two Canadian Design awards for their work. He was a proud member
of the governing council of the Ontario Association of Architects.
Many of the public buildings in Sudbury, including Civic Square,
Laurentian Hospital and the Taxation Centre, exhibit his firms
distinctive style. His residential designs are exceptional and
are enjoyed and appreciated by many. Art was an avid sailor and
was a charter member and commodore of the Sudbury Yacht Club,
racing his Y-Flyer (614) to many local wins. He was a past President
and Life member of the Kiwanis Club, Director of the Idylwylde
Golf Club, and a member of the McKim Planning Board. Skiing,
square dancing, and golfing were passions he shared with his
wife Evelyn. As a young boy in Jamaica, Art enjoyed painting
and throughout his life created many watercolours and oil paintings.
More recently, as a proud Canadian he carved magnificent totems
that adorn his residence and camp on Lake Panache. More than
anything Art was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren.
He truly made a difference and will be missed. Resting at the
Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury,

COTTON,
Dorothy
Lucille (née
WRIGHT)
Dorothy Lucille
COTTON, daughter of the late George Wallace and
Lucy Copping
WRIGHT, passed away peacefully on June 21st, 2005.
Dorothy was born in Toronto in 1915 and spent her early years
in Hamilton and many summers on Sparrow Lake. Dorothy's remarkable
life was full of the things she most loved: family, Friends,
animals, painting and golfing. Her love of golf spanned more
than eighty years and her start at golf was impressive. Dorothy
became ladies champion many times in Saint Thomas and
at Chedoke
in Hamilton. Her next success came with the coveted "Hole-in-One."
Most recently, she discovered the joys of the links on the computer
but was still occasionally found on the greens with her golfing
buddies at age 89. Golfing, however, was not her only passion.
She also came from a long line of people with a talent for painting
and pursued this interest from an early age. Dorothy will be
best remembered for her love of her family, children and animals.
Throughout her life she provided safe harbour to many birds,
fish, pugs and cats and provided an abundance of love and treats
to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Ray in 1965. In addition
to her daughter Lynda
BAUGHMAN of London, Dorothy is also survived
by her son, Allan
COTTON of Kelowna, British Columbia. Dorothy
was a much loved grandmother to Vicki
MENCE and her husband of

BAUGHMAN, Randy (Stephanie)

COTTON also of Kelowna. Dorothy's presence will be deeply missed
by her seven greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law,
two nieces, a nephew and many wonderful Friends here and in Florida.
A celebration of Dorothy's life will take place at Littlewood
United Church on Friday, June 24th at 1 p.m. with Reverend Krist
iane Charlton officiating. Instead of visitation, a reception
will follow at the church after the service. If desired, donations
to the Canadian Diabetic Association or The London Humane Society
would be gratefully acknowledged, but Dorothy would be happiest
if you remember her while out on the golf course, admiring a
sunset at the lake, or just when enjoying the good things in
life. McFarlane and Roberts Funeral Home, 652-2020 in care of arrangements.
