Passed away on March 4, 2005 at home surrounded by her loving family and the strong presence of God, into whose embrace she has been enfolded. Much beloved and precious wife of Dr. Charles Howard BENTALL; loving mother of Louise, Kathi, Joan (Rick) and Barney (Kath); and devoted 'Grammy' to Carly, Erin, Jeff, Tim, Brad, Amy, Becky, Tara, Lucas, Tasha, Cody, Jess, Dustin and Sacha and their significant others. Shirley was born in Regina on July 28, 1926, She received a B.A. from McMaster University, which also awarded her an honorary Doctorate of Divinity in 1989. When she married Howard in 1946 at the age of 20, she became a pastor's wife for the congregation of Walmer Road Baptist Church in Toronto. Over the years, first in Toronto and then in Calgary at First Baptist Church, she took a prominent role in leading and advancing the role of women in the church. She became the first woman president of the Baptist Union of Western Canada (1976-77) and then of the Canadian Baptist Federation (1985-88). She travelled extensively as a member of the Council of the Baptist World Alliance from 1985-95, for which she chaired the Christian Ethics Commission and also served on the Human Rights Commission. She also wrote a regular column for The Canadian Baptist magazine and several books, including Discovering the Deep Places and a biography of her father-in-law, The Charles Bentall Story. She had a lifelong commitment to serving others. She and Howard moved to the West Coast in 1992 where, rather than retiring to a life of ease, she worked tirelessly to bring her vision of spiritual renewal and community to fruition through the creation of the Rivendell Retreat Centre on Bowen Island and the Salsbury Community Society. The latter oversees five houses in East Vancouver with the purpose of building communities that are characterized by diversity and provide support for resident refugee claimants. She was deeply devoted and connected to Grandview Calvary Baptist (1803 East 1st Avenue), where her memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 12th at 2: 00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Salsbury Community Society, 1824 Venables Street, Vancouver, V5L 2H7.

Tim died on May 4 at age 41. He had been cycling with his wife, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation journalist Margo McDIARMID when he collapsed outside the U.S. embassy.
Tim was an inspirational journalist and a naturally gifted leader and teacher. Young, athletic and talented, he was a splendid colleague and friend. He was a joy to know. Chief among his qualities were his grace and humour.
Tim joined Carleton University's Faculty of Journalism last July, returning to the University where he took his Bachelor and Masters of Journalism degrees.
He began his career as a reporter for CJOH-TV, while an undergraduate. He went on to work for Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Ottawa, London, England and Toronto as a reporter, anchor and producer. Tim was always drawn to teaching and in 1993, he and Margo moved to Britain to pursue that dream. He took his PhD in 1996 at the University of Wales (Cardiff).
Upon his return to Canada, Tim taught briefly in Calgary before moving to Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Edmonton where he became Managing Editor.
He shaped and influenced many journalists who will miss him dearly.
In addition to Margo, Tim is survived by their 10-year-old daughter Aislinn; his father Ross of Oakville; brother Andy (Kristin), their children Cooper and Avery of Willmington, Massachusetts. his mother-in-law Connie MacDOWELL, Ottawa; sister-in-law Kim McDIARMID (Raymond HESSION,) and niece Madeleine of Stittsville, his uncle and aunt Dave and Eileen ROBINSON of Toronto.
Tim was predeceased by his mother Joan in 1998.

HILLMAN, William " Bill" Hugh
Passed away peacefully at the age of 66 on September 15, 2005, at Sudbury's Memorial Hospital. Loving husband of 43 years who will be dearly missed by wife Nora. Beloved father of Grace WRIGHT (Morley) and Jamie BUNKA (Larry) and son to the late Elsie and Jim SUMMERS and Bill and Dell HILLMAN. An amazing grandpa and poppa to Kelly, Kristie MAY, Aaron, Taylor, Connor, Cameron, Liam, and great-grandpa to Katie and Taylor MAY. Brother to Ron HILLMAN (Ruth) of Saint Thomas and Maxine "Toni" VANHORNE (Chuck) of Hamilton. Brother-in-law to Amy CROCCO (Henry) of Sudbury, Vivian WAUGH (late Ken) of Guelph, and the late Rita WALKER (Doug) of Elliot Lake. Nephew of Lynne JOHNSTON of Toronto and Nora FORESTER of British Columbia. Special cousin to Wayne and Jerry JOHNSTON. As well, an uncle and cousin who will be fondly remembered by many. Bill worked for the Etobicoke Board of Education for 15 years and enjoyed an active retirement in Elliot Lake where he was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, E.L.A.T.E., Stage Door Players, and the Elliot Lake Computer Club. The warmth, humour, talents, and love Bill shared, will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Family and Friends are invited to join in a celebration of his life Monday, September 19th at 3 p.m., at the Canadiana Restaurant located in Six Points Plaza, 5230 Dundas St. West, Etobicoke. Jennie beloved wife of the late Charles May passed away peacefully at the William Osler Health Centre, Etobicoke, on September 14, 2005. She will be sadly missed by her many Friends, and neighbours the Antczak family, and will always be remembered by those at Canes Home Supprt Services for her kind bequests. VANDERGANG, Agnes
Agnes died suddenly on Monday, December 5, 2005. After a long struggle with severe depression, she is now at peace. Agnes will be missed by her best friend Sue BERLOVE, her mother Catherine (TEEKENS,) her sister Anita and brother-in-law Bernard TEENINGA, and her nieces and nephews: William (Sue,) Catherine (Derek MAY,) Mark (Jen), Anne and Heather (Philip). With love and joy we will remember Agnes' passion for gardening, her active participation in the First Unitarian Congregation of Toronto, her bold expressive style, and her creativity. She was a tireless advocate for those with mental illness, working to remove the stigma and improve workplace accommodation. Memorial service to be held on Monday, December 12 at 1 p.m. at the First Unitarian Congregation of Toronto, 175 St. Clair Ave. West, Toronto. Visitation with family and Friends from 12 to 1 p.m., preceding the service. Reception will follow the service. MAY, Marjorie Mahaney (née OSBORNE)
Marjorie Mahaney MAY, born May 1, 1914 in Toronto, Ontario, died on December 26, 2005 in Calgary. She was educated in Toronto, where she went to secretarial school. She married Bill MAY in 1942. Bill was in the Air Force stationed in Winnipeg. After the war, they returned to Toronto and remained there until 1961 when they moved to Calgary. Marjorie worked at the University of Calgary in the typing pool. She soon moved to the Faculty of Engineering, where she stayed until her retirement as the secretary to the Dean of Engineering. Marjorie is survived by her devoted husband William; sons Ron (Carole) of Calgary, and Ken (Linda) of St. Albert; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marjorie's name may be made directly to the Alzheimer Society of Canada (201, 222-58 Ave. S.W., Calgary, Alberta T2H 2S3).
