Mary died on the morning of December 3, 2005 in her 94th year after a healthy, loving and blessed life. Predeceased by her husband Harold (Bus) in 1990. Survived by her daughter Ann and her husband Ross G. DOBBIN, grandchildren Katie Dobbin BINDA and John BINDA of Boston, Massachussetts, Karin DOBBIN and Moshe TABIBNIA of Milan, Italy, Kelly DOBBIN and Scott MATHISON of Toronto and great grandchildren Sarah, Jack, Jasper and Ella. Also predeceased by her brother Harry and his wife Bernadine and their daughter Nancy. Surviving nieces and nephews are Marie and William RUTHERFORD, Marylou and Jack SNELGROVE, Gail and Harry RUTHERFORD, Lenore and Tim O'BRIEN and Daisy and Richard RUTHERFORD. Service will be held on Friday, December 9 at 3: 00 p.m. at Saint John's Anglican Church, 99 Brock Street, Peterborough. Visitation will precede the service at 2: 30 p.m. Our family extends sincere appreciation for special care provided by Princess Gardens and Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Age 86, passed away peacefully at Spruce Lodge, Stratford on Tuesday, December 20, 2005. Jerry was born in Huissen, Holland July 17, 1919, a son of the late Joseph and Antje STINNISSEN. On July 10, 1952 he married Dorothy and the couple came to Canada. They resided in Zurich for 6 years, Goderich for 40 years, moving to Stratford in 2000. While in Goderich he was employed with Goderich Manufacturing as a superintendent and later with Dominion Roads until his retirement. He was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Stratford. Jerry had a passion for growing fruit and vegetables and took great pride in his grandchildren. Beloved husband for 53 years of Dorothy. Loving father and grandfather of Andy and his wife Aleida, and their children Sarah, Mike, Eric and Amanda, Stratford; Tony and his wife Roxanne, and their children Kaleigh, Connell and Caibre, Edmonton; Marcel of Los Angeles; Lucy and her husband Don GILDERS, and their children Lauren and Alannah, Delaware; Ged and his wife Joanne and their daughter Holli, Waterford. Dear brother of Arnold and his wife Lenny, London, Leida and her husband Bart VAN HOEK, Giel and his wife Sjaan, Jan, Ann, Trees and her husband Geert MATHYSSEN, all of the Netherlands, Ben of Petrolia. Also survived by a sister-in-law Marie STINNISSEN, Grand Bend and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother Peter and by a sister-in-law Ann. She leaves her daughter Hélène (John GUZA) of Calgary; grandchildren Michele (John AUDIA) of Mississauga, Susan and Stephen of Calgary; great-grandchildren Catherine and Nadia AUDIA; and son Stanley MATKO. She is also survived by her sisters Anna CIKATRICIS of Ridgetown. Mary (Louis KNIZET) of Winnipeg, Cecile (Ed TOOLE) of Kelowna, and Petranella PLEVZA, brother Stanley (Joan) of Milk River, Alberta; and many nieces and nephews. Josephine was predeceased by her parents Stanley and Stephanie PLEVZA, and by her husband Steve (1980) and sister Frances KOROL (1996.) She was born in Zavar, Slovakia on June 10, 1920. Her family immigrated to Canada in 1938. Throughout her life, Josephine lived in Winnipeg, Hamilton and Ridgetown. Her family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caregivers, nurses and staff at Victoria Residence for their excellent care especially during her last days. Josephine will be remembered for her love of life, family and special outings to the mountains with her grandchildren in Alberta. After a lengthy battle with declining health, Ina MARSLAND (nee COWAN) passed away at the Woodstock Private Hospital at the age of 92 years, after being compassionately cared for by the wonderful staff; Our mentor was finally released from her pain and struggle on Tuesday, April 19th, 2005. Ina was predeceased by her husband and best friend Robert (1996.) Beloved mother to Bernice MARSLAND of Woodstock and Fred MARSLAND of Keswick Road. She is survived by many special nieces and nephews. Ina was predeceased by her son Glen (1960,) her parents John and Axaie COWAN, her siblings Cecil; Guy; Alvretta PIPE; Wilfred; LaVerne; Montressor; Viola MATLOCK; Edsell and Emery.
She was a compassionate lady who overlooked imperfections and cared deeply for both people and animals. 'Fearless' educator mourned
Beloved principal drowned diving in Stoney Lake
Wanted students to 'take on life with dignity'

Students loved Althea RHOOMS.
The long-time teacher and principal had an infectious laugh and was always ready with a hug at the end of each school day.
She was also the whip-smart businesswoman who made sure students' education wasn't compromised by funding cuts, and fought tirelessly to improve her schools.
Always up for a good challenge, Rhooms was a woman described by best friend Sharon ALLEYNE as "strong, fearless."
"She could be strict in some ways, but there was always love for the students and lots of hugs," said Mike TIMOTHEOU, father of one of her students.
RHOOMS, who loved the outdoors, rowed Saturday in the Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival, competing on the Toronto District School Board team.
The next day, she participated in a practice dive at Stoney Lake near Peterborough with her scuba diving club. She had been diving almost weekly for a year, Friends and family said.
But on Sunday, she began having breathing problems under water and never made it up. She was 43.
The coroner's office is still probing what caused her death.
RHOOMS worked as a teacher before serving as vice-principal at McMurrich Junior Public School for two years, and then principal at Humewood Community School for three years.
She transferred to Maple Leaf Public School this past December, following her passion to the Jane St. and Lawrence Ave. neighbourhood where 65 per cent of her students have African or Caribbean backgrounds.
"She wanted them to grow up and take on life with dignity," said ALLEYNE.
RHOOMS volunteered for Women for P.A.C.E. (Project for Advancement of Childhood Education), a group promoting early childhood education in both Canada and her native Jamaica.
"She wanted to be a leader in the African Canadian community," said Trustee Josh MATLOW. "(At Maple Leaf) she found a place in the world to be a leader and provide mentorship to young students."
Principal Rita GARRY, who took RHOOMS's place at Humewood, said she took the assignment at the new school because "there were a lot of students from the black community there. She wanted to be a role model for the female students."
Flags were flying at half-mast and grief counsellors had been brought in at her former schools.
At a graduation ceremony at Maple Leaf yesterday, students spent what should have been a day of celebration, memorializing a lost friend.
RHOOMS leaves her parents, younger brothers Wayne and Jason, and her 18-year-old son, Gyasi. Funeral arrangements are still being made.

Doting "Poppa" to Connor, Scottie, and Evan WARD who gave him much joy. Caring brother of Barbara SEYMOUR of St. Catharines and admired Uncle to her children Carolyn, Ward, Marion, and Rick; Brother-in-Law and dear friend of Dr. William STRANG and his wife Pat of Chattanooga, Tennessee and close Uncle to their sons Mark, Paul, John and Drew. A special brother of Ardith RALPH of Vancouver.
An H.B.A. and M.B.A. graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business, Bruce enjoyed a very long and successful career as a senior partner with Woods Gordon (now Ernst and Young) as head of their Executive Search Practice and as National Director of Human Resources Consulting. He then joined Heidrick and Struggles Inc., a top tier international search firm, as Partner and an Elected Director. Considered by many to be the "Dean of Recruiters", Bruce served as a mentor to many in that discipline.
Bruce was a devoted sports fan -- whether as a participant or spectator. A Mustang alumnus in Football and Wrestling, Bruce loved to play golf at the London Hunt and Country Club, and play doubles tennis with "Gutsy" at the Badminton and Racquet Club. His true passion, however, was skiing with Friends and family at Devil's Glen Ski Club in Collingwood.
Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at Fawcett Funeral Homes -- Collingwood Chapel, 82 Pine Street, from 2-4 and 7-9 in the evening. Passed away suddenly, on Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Central Park Lodge on Spadina Road in Toronto. He was in his 86th year. He is predeceased by sister Mary, and brothers Matt and Jack. He is survived by younger brothers Dick and Tom. He was "Unk" to 13 nieces and nephews, most of whom are living in the Toronto area, some in the rest of Canada and one in Europe. Frank worked about 70 years with brother Matt in the family bicycle business that started in Vancouver then moved to Toronto. Many people will have a memory of Frank sitting on an empty paint can at the back of Grove Cycle, chattering away, while tinkering with a complicated part of a customer's bike. On retiring, Frank could put up his feet enjoying the company of his new Friends at Central Park Lodge. He truly liked the weekly outings to various malls across the city. Unfortunately, his health took a turn for the worse over the past six months with increasing frailty and declining mobility. Frank always had a good-natured and uncomplicated approach to life. Family, work and a lifelong interest in sports were the things that he treasured. Peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto on December 10, 2005 at the age of 74, with family at her side. Beloved wife of Duncan for 50 beautiful years.
