Peacefully on Sunday, November 13th, 2005, after a brief illness and surrounded by his loving family, John Douglas "Doug" LEMMON of London in his 64th year. Husband, best friend and soul mate of Carol (née DICKINSON.) Devoted▼ and loving father of Sue, Judy BERKIN and her husband Steve, and Kim all of London. Adored grandfather (Bampa) of Emma and Laura. Brother of Arlene SKRYNSKI of Burlington, Debbie CASTLE and her husband Gord of Aurora, and brother-in-law of Jean and Michael MEARS of London, Connie MASSICOTTE of Whitby and Anne EBSWORTH of England. Doug touched the lives of his nephews, nieces and relatives here and in England. He proudly became a surrogate grandpa to Amber and Lindsay. Doug enjoyed 30 years as a proud employee of 3M Canada and became known as "Mr. Post-It". Since retiring from 3M he served as a board member of The Kidney Foundation as well as being involved with the 3M retirees. The world has lost a shining star with Doug leaving us much too soon. BROWN, Col. Charles Edward, M.C., C.D., "Charlie"
Peacefully in his sleep, at home in Brantford, surrounded by family, Thursday, March 24, 2005, in his 90th year. Predeceased by his loving wife Edythe in January 2000, he leaves his son Dr. Lee BROWN and his wife Monique of Owen Sound, his daughter Maureen MASSICOTTE and her husband Paul of Brantford, his beloved granddaughters Jacqueline and Natalie BROWN of Owen Sound and step-granddaughter Katharine MASSICOTTE of Guelph. Predeceased by sisters Velma, Aleda and Violet and twin brothers Harold and Wallace, he is survived by sisters-in-law Patricia BROWN and Mildred BROWN of Toronto and Velma MURRAY of Florida and many nieces and nephews. Born in Meaford September 4, 1915, Charlie was a resident of Brantford since 1940 when he began his long and illustrious career as a science teacher at Brantford Collegiate Institute. He served his country with great honour and courage in the Royal Canadian Artillery during World War 2, seeing battle in Italy, France, Belgium and Holland and was awarded the Military Cross for his valour. Upon returning to Brantford Collegiate Institute, he maintained his army association for many years, with the 56th Field Regiment. After serving as its Commanding Officer, he became a Colonel and District Commander for southwestern Ontario. At Brantford Collegiate Institute he became head of the Science Department and then Vice Principal. Over the years, Charlie earned the love and respect of hundreds of students and soldiers because of his fairness, compassion, wit and insight. A long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Dunsdon Branch, and after his retirement in 1979, of the Canadian Military Heritage Museum and Probus Club, Charlie loved to travel, to read, and, most of all, to regale Friends with his wonderful stories and sense of humour. An outstanding family-man, soldier and teacher, and a friend to all, he will be sadly missed. Cremation. She will be sorely missed by her loving sister and brother-in-law Florence and Pierre DELAGRAVE, her nephews Vaughan BRUNEAU (Mary,) their four daughters and six grandchildren, all of Vancouver, and dear Friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Fred, sister-in-law Rose, sister Marie LUSSIER and brother Tony BRUNEAU.
After the death of her husband Fred of Toronto, Babe moved to Montreal to reside with her sister and brother-in-law.
A special thanks to Christine DAGUERRE- MASSIEU and her husband George who were very attentive during the past year as was her good friend Phillipe ROBERGE. The family would also like to thank Dr. LUSSIER and the very kind staff at the Montreal General Hospital.

On May 13, 2005 at home, after a valiant struggle with cancer, at the age of 72. Wife of Gordon MASSON, cherished daughter Karen, and son Paul will all miss her greatly. Her sister Margaret (ANDREWS) and her husband Bill ANDREWS have been very close to her also. Loving Nana of Jessica and Matthew FORD, Karen and Christopher FORD's children, and Adam and Laura MASSON, Paul and Cathie Ann MASSON's children, sister-in-law of Ted and Muriel MASSON. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews, Janet BROPHY, James ANDREWS, Anne MASSON, Janet PEARCE, Nancy LOGAN and their spouses and children.
Cathie MASSON has been a tireless volunteer with the Ste. Anne and District Branch of the Victorian Order of Nurses. She has served as past president of the Board of Directors, and board member, but longest, and dearest to her heart, as co-ordinator of palliative volunteers.
In 1984, as a direct result of a study she carried out, the Victorian Order of Nurses began a palliative home care service for residents of the West Island. Cathie's vision and determination also laid the groundwork for the opening of a free standing hospice in our community. She generously supported other with her expertise to realize her dream. She served on the board of this hospice from its opening.
While the Victorian Order of Nurses was the recipient of most of her volunteer hours, over the past 40 years she has volunteered with a variety of other community and church organizations. It was those in need at the end of their life who benefited the most from her vision, commitment, professionalism and compassion.
She was the recipient of the Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of the Confederation of Canada from the Governor General of Canada in 1992, The Volunteer Award of Excellence from the Victorian Order of Nurses of Canada in 1996, and, most recently (April 18, 2005), The Governor General's Caring Canadian Award from Adrienne Clarkson, the Governor General, at a presentation at Rideau Hall, Ottawa.
Thank you to all the staff at Saint Mary's Hospital Center, especially to nurse Jeanie Sinclair. The care and support given to Cathie and the family by the Victorian Order of Nurses and Health Access nurses after she came home was greatly appreciated.

Guelph, Ontario -- Lee MASTER of Guelph, Ontario, writes about actor Terry DOYLE, whose obituary appeared on June 7.
I enjoyed the avuncular Terry DOYLE on stage any number of times but the performance I admired most was at the Guelph Collegiate and Vocational Institute where, for a couple of years in the late 1940s, along with Neal JOTHAM, we were pals. At the end of the school day, the three of us would walk up and then down Paisley Street to the Royal Dairy Milk Bar for milkshakes and mockery. Terry's taste was for vanilla and gentle. Already in high school, the rehearsal for adult life, Terry had the witty, twinkly, understated nice-guy role down pat.

At his home, in Erin, in the loving arms of his family, Howard WINTERS passed away peacefully, in his 85th year, on January 13, 2005. Devoted and loving husband for 58 years to Andrea (nee MASTERS.) Exceptional, cherished and every little girl's dream of a father to Margaret ROBERTSON of London, Marilyn PHILBROOK of Oakville, and Kathryn WINTERS of Brampton. Treasured grandfather of Glenn HUNTER (predeceased,) Russell HUNTER (Juliette,▲) Sarah▲ HOLMAN (Frank,) and Michael PHILBROOK. Magical great-grandfather of Zackary and Alia HUNTER. Dear brother of Weir WINTERS (Marie) of Erin. Howard was a veteran of World War 2 and a proud member of Royal Canadian Air Force 434 Squadron. He and his brother Weir, were the long-time owners of "Winters Garage" in Erin, and together donated land for the village cenotaph. He later owned a small engine sales and service business that included "Lawnboy", and as well was the high school custodian. He started Boy Scouts in Erin. Howard was a man of unshakable honesty, loyalty and hard work ethics. His deep love and dedication to his wife and family were paramount. Howard was a gentleman who taught by the way he lived his life. He lives on in this way and in the hearts of three generations. He was a special man; a trusted and respected business man. RUSSELL, Robert James
On Sunday, May 1st, 2005 at the William Osler Health Centre, Brampton, after a brief illness, Bob, in his 61st year. Beloved husband of Marlene (WATSON) for 37 years. Cherished father of Robert "Louie" RUSSELL and his wife Carolyn (MALONEY.) Loving grandfather of James Robert RUSSELL and Baby Angel Robert Patrick (April 15th to April 18th, 2005). Robert is lovingly remembered by his mother Violet RUSSELL and is survived by his sister Susan BARBER and her husband Richard, nephew Scott and niece Sharlene and her husband Alex CLARKE. He was predeceased by his father Robert James in 1976. He will be affectionately remembered by his mother-in-law Ann (WATSON) MASTERS, Marlene's sisters and brother, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews as well as the Watson family. Friends Dr. David JOLLEY, Dr. Paul BELZYCKI, Howard ROY and in spirit Nicolas Harvey were at his side in his final hours. Bob's contribution and involvement at the York Skeet Club for over 20 years as a lifetime member and past director will be missed by his many Friends. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Irene ROSS, who was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years Victor, last September. They were the former owners of Church Newcastle Motors in "old Mimico". She will be sadly missed by her children Linda and her husband Chet JAYE and Diana and her husband Chris KORWIN- KUCZYNSKI.
