Tom retired from G.M. Diesel in November 2004 after 30 years. An avid sports fan, he especially loved watching the Toronto Maple Leafs. Visitation was held at the C. Haskett and son Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church, Lucan on Thursday, March 31st at 4: 30 p.m. with Father Vincent VAN ZUTPHEN presiding. It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of a dear husband, father and friend. Suddenly at Bluewater Heath Mitton Street Site on March 13, 2005, Roy Greenshield YOUNG in his 71st year. Roy was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan and later moved to Ontario with Goodyear Tire; the last 23 years as owner of R.G Young Auto (Goodyear Tire) on London Road in Sarnia. In his spare time he was an avid gardener and sports enthusiast. He had just recently retired and was enjoying his favourite pastimes.
Cherished husband and partner of Connie YOUNG for 20 years. Beloved step father of Lori REID (Sean) of London. Roy will be greatly missed by his children Bryce (Heather) YOUNG of Brampton, Gail YOUNG (Ed) of Mississauga, Scott YOUNG (Louise) of London, Dave (Kristi) YOUNG of Sarnia and their mother Patricia YOUNG of Brampton. Survived by his sister Biddy MARCHUCK of Richmond, British Columbia and brother Bob of Indian Head, Saskatchewan. Died peacefully at Riverside Glen Long Term Care in Guelph on Saturday, February 5, 2005. Predeceased by her first husband, Harold William MOGG, her second husband Rodman Perry FISHER, and her brothers Clair, Bob and Ross MARTIN. Loved Mother of David, Cheryl and Penny and their spouses Lindy MARCHUK, Brian FAYLE and Bill DOLAN. Beloved by grandchildren Peter (Stephanie,) Karen, Dave, Michele (Steve James) and their daughter Madeline Robert, Kyla and Patrick. Remembered fondly by the Fisher family. Betty lived her life in Galt (Cambridge) and was a lifelong member of Central Presbyterian Church. She took an active role in the social and volunteer life of the community serving on the board of the Young Women's Christian Association, chairperson of the United Way and was an honorary member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Betty was well known and loved for her smile, enjoyment of others and for sharing her enthusiam of life with family and Friends. The family will always cherish memories of times at her cottage on Georgian Bay where she also had a wonderful circle of Friends. Heartfelt thanks go to all the people who cared for Betty. It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Charles (Charlie) BURGESS in his 78th year, on Tuesday, February 22nd, 2005, peacefully at London Health Sciences Centre, South Street Campus. Dearly beloved husband for 54 years to Edith Randi (née ROSENLUND.) Cherished father of Julia Edith MARCINKEVICIUS, Lois Irene BURGESS, Shelley Dianne BURGESS, Christine Rose GARROW and sons-in-law, Randy GARROW and Egidijus MARCINKEVICIUS. He was much loved and will be missed by his granddaughters, Emily, Katie, Jennifer, and Nicole. He joins grand_son, Jake in Heaven. He is survived by his sister Ethel ECKERSLY in Cranbrook, British Columbia, and by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Kaye ROSENLUND and Bob and Sandra SAULT of Sarnia, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Charlie was an adventurous soul who spent his life as a self made entrepreneur ranging from driving taxi in Kenora as a kid, a veteran of the Korean War, and many years raising his family in the Zurich, Bayfield and Clinton areas through farming and retail businesses he owned and operated before he retired to Sarnia and London. He was tougher than the average bear. Many thanks from his family for the wonderful care he received during his illness, from all the staff at the London Health Sciences Centre, including his nurses, Linda, Cathy, Suki, Dave and Tammy, and his wonderful doctors, Dr. HARRIS, Dr. SPENCE, Dr. JENSEN, Dr. HOUSE, Dr. DIAZ and Dr. WILSON. Visitation will be on Friday from 7: 00-9:00 p.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North (2 blocks north of Oxford), where the funeral and committal services will be conducted on Saturday, February 26th, 2005 at 3: 00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Mary Angela CALLAGHAN (FORRISTAL.) Died peacefully on July 10, 2005, in her 98th year at Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care in London, Ontario. Angela was born in London on December 19, 1907, the daughter of the late Michael Francis and Mary FORRISTAL. She attended St. Angela's Academy, Ursuline College ("The Pines") and Brescia College, University of Western Ontario. Following her graduation in 1929, Angela worked as a librarian at the London Public Library until her marriage to Dr. Vincent CALLAGHAN in 1936. She then embarked on her second career as wife and mother and raised seven children. Beloved wife of the late Vincent Ambrose CALLAGHAN (1965.) At the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Saturday, April 30, 2005, in his 76th year. Bob TURNBULL of Cambridge is the beloved husband of Dawna TURNBULL (née SINCLAIR;) dear brother of Donna TURNBULL of Cambridge, Joan MARCO and her husband Joseph of Brantford, Marilyn HARTWICK of Drayton, Nancy KAZIMIERCZAK of Guelph, Douglas of Burlington, James of Ayr, William of Paris and Brian of Cambridge. He is also lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, and the Sinclair family: Lloyd, George, Barbara JEWETT and Joan ROBERTS. Mr. TURNBULL retired as President of Canadian General Tower of Cambridge, where he had been a faithful employee for 51 years. Throughout his career Mr. TURNBULL was a highly respected member of several associations, including A.P.M.A. (auto) Society of Plastic Industries and a former Vice-President of C.F.F.A. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be conducted in Little's Funeral Home and Cremation Centre (519-623-1290). Died peacefully on July 10, 2005, in her 98th year, at Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care in London, Ontario. Angela was born in London on December 19, 1907, the daughter of the late Michael Frances and Mary FORRISTAL. She attended St. Angela's Academy, Ursuline College ("The Pines") and Brescia College, University of Western Ontario. Following her graduation in 1929, Angela worked as a librarian at the London Public Library until her marriage to Dr. Vincent CALLAGHAN in 1936. She then embarked on her second career as wife and mother and raised seven children.

With the unconditional support of his soulmate Kay and his children Marie (HOUGHTON,) Colin, Patricia (MANN) and Karen, on his own terms and very much at peace, Christopher embraced the motto of the Clan Fraser: "Je Suis Prest" and completed the pilgrimage that was his life on March 1st, 2005. His parents (deceased) Christopher FRASER Sr. and Madeline FRASER (née BURNS,) his siblings Sr. Dorothy FRASER, C.S.J., Donald (Elinor,) Elizabeth (Lino MARCON,) and Sr. Janet FRASER, C.S.J., Donna FRASER, his sons-in-law John HOUGHTON and Peter MANN, Sandee, Joe and his grandchildren Andrew, Emily, Adon, Spencer, FRASER and Sonny were also in his thoughts with his nieces and nephews. Christopher loved God. He loved his 73 years of life, his family and his Friends and these loved him and gave him great and sustaining joy. "Moose" was ever the consummate teacher and de facto preacher. He always indulged an unquenchable thirst for lively debate and discussion, peppered with true Fraser humour. Summers were only complete if spent at the Cottage. The news of his illness brought spontaneous stories from across North America of his having made people feel valued and loved. He learned that those whom time and geography had made to seem distant had always kept him close in their hearts and minds because of his enduring influence on them. God's unconditional love that His creations are beautiful and precious and that as Christians we should act as our brother Jesus, were a constant theme in Chris' life with family, Friends, students and fellow educators. Christopher built community and modelled love for the individual. His influence on so many lives will long outlast his all too brief time on this Earth. Visitation will be held at Blessed Trinity Church, 3220 Bayview Avenue, Toronto on Friday, March 4, 2005 from 1: 00-2:00 p.m. Mass celebrating Christopher's life will follow at 2: 00 p.m. A reception will immediately follow the Mass. A private burial service will take place in Lindsay, Ontario. Arrangements entrusted to the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay (705-328-2721). GRUNDY, Lillian Audrey " Sylvia" (née CLOSE)
Peacefully at home surrounded by her family, Sylvia, in her 71st year, passed away on December 17th, 2005. Predeceased by her parents Alice and Fred CLOSE. Devoted wife of the late Thomas GRUNDY. Her spirit will always be alive in the hearts of her children, daughters Janice and husband Peter, Denise, Lori, Billie-Joy (Doug), Donna and husband Joseph, and her only son Thomas and wife Michelle. Predeceased by her loving brother Roy CLOSE and wife June. Lovingly and fondly remembered by her only sister Joyce MARCOTTE. Most proud and loving Nanny to her sixteen grandchildren who always brought her great joy and strength and great-grandmother to six wonderful great-grandchildren. Sylvia will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, and large circle of Friends. Please join us in a celebration of Sylvia's life on Thursday, December 22nd from 7-9 p.m. at the Warden Woods Mennonite Church at 74 Firvalley Court.
