He was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Wallaceburg, as well as a member of Knights of Columbus Council 2102. John was a retired employee of Dominion Glass Co., in Wallaceburg. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin Street, in Wallaceburg, until Saturday, April 9, 2005 when the concelebrated funeral mass was celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians Church at 10: 30 a.m. with Fr. John JASICA, Celebrant and Fr. Greg BONIN, Co-Celebrant. The gifts were brought to the altar by his loved grandchildren. Interment was in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg. Pall bearers were: Bernie ARMSTRONG, Steve HITCHCOCK, Doug CATTON, Orm MASON, Ralph CARR, Bill KNIGHT and Brennan CONRY. Flower bearers were Lauren FREEBURN, Meghan FREEBURN, Jamison FREEBURN, Lucas Freeburn HING, Reilly CELOTTO and Ava CELOTTO. As an expresson of sympathy, donations to Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto may be left at the funeral home. As a living memorial a tree will be planted in Nicholls Memorial Forest in memory of John FREEBURN.

He joined Barber-Ellis (Barbecon) at age 17 and retired 48 years later in 1982 as President. Dave was an avid golfer and a member at The Hunt Club and a long time member of Rotary. Throughout his life Dave was active in his Church. Dave is predeceased by Peggy, his loving wife and best friend of 60 years and by his brother Kenneth (Helen,) sisters Kathleen (Jim) GRAHAM and Peggy (Sid) MALLIN. Dave▼ will be sadly missed by his two sons and their wives Ken and Jean and Dave and Cherry and by his daughter and husband Marnie and Kal SZEGVARY and granddaughters Shannon, Christine and Traci and great-granddaughter Emma, as well as many other family members and Friends. Beloved sister of Shirley SANDERSON (Peter), Evelynn GODFREY (Harold), and brother Charlie. Beloved sister-in-law of Lois McFARLANE. Ruth Isabel (DOLLAR) MALLORY passed away with her family at her side in her 81st year in Florence, South Carolina on the 10th of March 2005. Ruth was born in Toronto, the daughter of Dr. Logie and Margaret DOLLAR. She lived her formative years in St. Thomas. She was predeceased by her husband Lee MALLORY and her brother Hubert DOLLAR and his wife Pat. She is survived by her former husband Albert P. OSBORNE, her daughter Ann Louise (OSBORNE) PEACOCK and her husband Paul of Lake Forest, California, Robin Elaine (OSBORNE) HALUS and her husband Dr. Steve HALUS of Florence, South Carolina. Ruth's six grandchildren; Gregory, Thomas and Joseph PEACOCK and Andrew, Paulina and Jack HALUS will miss their much loved "Nonnie". She is survived by her two brothers, Gordon DOLLAR and his wife Marilyn of Waterloo, John DOLLAR and his wife Jean of London. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn in Ottawa, widow of loving husband Frederick William CHALMERS.
For more than 90 years her life shone like a beacon as an inspiration to family and Friends alike. She was strong, yet sweet, gentle and generous. Her mind was as clear as her North Sea blue eyes. Her warmth, intelligence and flashing wit were the essence of her personality.
She was kind. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to service to others through membership in the Lady Aberdeen League in Edmonton, church groups and Goodwill in Toronto. Her greatest energies over the years were always focused on her family.
She is survived and mourned by her children, Dennis and Kate CHALMERS, Frances (Lassie) and Howie WILSON, Barb and Joe IZZIO her grandchildren, Heather and Glen KELLY, Holly CHALMERS, Gordon CHALMERS, Patricia WILSON and Christopher MALLORY, Stewart WILSON and Shannon FYNN, Andrew WILSON and Céline NADREAU, Peter and Sally IZZIO, Carol IZZIO and Glen ROWLAND, and Siobhan IZZIO sixteen great-grandchildren; her sister Norah GOOD; brother-in-law Bob BAXTER; sisters-in-law Dorothy CHALMERS and Win CHALMERS cousins Karen and Don OGSTON; special Friends Lorne LEIGHTON, Elinor MURPHY, and Paul and Christine CLARK.

MALLOVY, John Vladimir (né Vladimir Joseph MALIJOVSKY)
John Vladimir MALLOVY of Toronto, Ontario, born and raised Vladimir Joseph MALIJOVSKY of Borohradek and Prague, Czech Republic died peacefully Sunday, September 4 at Sunnybrook Hospital of heart failure and complications. He was diagnosed with an inoperable heart condition and was determined to live the balance of his life as well as possible. He spent the last five weeks enjoying life at the cottage with family before being admitted to hospital in early August. Born in 1921, he had a privileged upbringing that was cut short by the Nazi occupation of World War 2. Following a brief period of peace after the war, the Communist takeover of his homeland forced him to flee. He left his parents and the 400 year old, family owned, sawmill business and spent a year as a refugee in Germany. In 1950, he boarded a ship in Holland bound for Canada with other displaced relatives. He was only able to emigrate to Canada by agreeing to work on a farm for a year. He then found work in the lumber business and soon after started his own wholesale lumber business that he ran for the next 45 years. He loved his adopted country passionately. This charming European swept a sixth generation Canadian, Naomi BRISTOL, off her feet and they married soon after. He was a devoted father, a keen tennis player, loved skiing, canoeing, fishing and cottage life at Wah Wash Kesh. He leaves his wife Naomi of 51 years, his children Hugh (Erica VALENTINE,) Helen Mallovy HICKS (Bob HICKS) and John (Maureen HOLLOWAY) and grandchildren Maddy and Jacquie HICKS and Aidan and Ronan MALLOVY. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 8 at St. Pauls Anglican Cathedral at 227 Bloor Street East at 3 p.m., followed by a reception at the home of Helen Mallovy HICKS. Albert A. ROSSIGNOL a resident of Thamesview Lodge has gone to see the Lord on February 28, 2005 at the age of 74. Born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick on August 24, 1930, he was the son of the late Alexander (1971) and the late Emily (PARENT) ROSSIGNOL (1986.) He married the late Edwina DESROSIERS (1990) on June 30, 1952, moved his family to Ontario in 1969. He was employed at North American Plastics and Libbey St. Clair, better known as the Glass Factory in Wallaceburg. He retired from the Glass Factory on August 1, 1992. His sister Suzanne (Tony) MALLOY (London), Judith (Martin) FLOOD (the Limits) and Catherine (Ian) STEWARD/STEWART/STUART (Nassau) and Janie's family who claimed him as their own. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Maudella.
Paul received his medical degree from the University of Ottawa in 1973. Following his residency training in Saskatoon and Toronto, Paul practiced ear, nose, throat and allergy medicine in El Paso, Texas from January 1978 to November 1996. In El Paso, Paul developed his passion for cycling. With his family and Friends, he would ride 200-300 miles per week. The Friends made during this time are lasting and true. In November 1996, Paul relocated to Watertown, South Dakota. Again, as was his way, close Friendship were established. Paul retired July 31, 2004. Paul has touched many lives during his brief stay. He was a dedicated and caring physician, who loved that he was able to help people. Paul served as president of the Bicycle Advisory Board. He was the editor of the El Paso Medical Society Journal, he served as director of Continuing Medical Education at Vista Hills Hospital in El Paso and was also Chief of Medical Staff at Vista Hills. As well, he served on numerous hospital committees in El Paso and Watertown, South Dakota. He was on the executive committee of Lions Club in Watertown. Paul was the vice president of the Pan American Allergy Society. He enjoyed teaching and presented numerous speeches in El Paso, Watertown and elsewhere. Paul's hobbies and interests were playing cards (Rummy being the game of choice), and bird watching (in Watertown, he was the proud landlord of a flourishing purple marten colony). But, by far, his pet passion was his totally restored 1965 VW Transporter, fondly referred to as "the Troka". Paul will be greatly missed. He touched and made a difference in the lives of everyone he met. Special thanks to his regular group of Friends in Watertown. You were pivotal in his life. A heartfelt thanks to the physicians and nurses in the Emergency Department and the Intensive Care Unit at Victoria General Hospital. Your professionalism and understanding made this step of transition as comfortable as the situation allowed.

VOGEL, Cedric Anton
Cedric Anton, born October 16, 1914 in Vancouver, son of Hans Broder VOGEL and Annie (HUNTER) VOGEL, passed away peacefully at home on June 12, 2005. Loved and missed by his wife, Dorothy (MacLELLAN,) children Peter and Jan VOGEL, Chris VOGEL and Richard NORTH, and by his grandchildren, Christopher and Jamie VOGEL and Jason VAN DE VELDE. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ced received a B.A. and B.Ed. from the University of Saskatchewan and taught in a one room schoolhouse in Saskatchewan until enlisting in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He served as a navigator with bomber command, being shot down and held in the Stalag Luft III prison camp until the end of the war. In 1946 he began his career with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Regina, then administering Deer Lodge Hospital in Winnipeg and Westminster Hospital in London. Special thanks to home care workers Elizabeth DIVER, Irene AMARAL, Lisa MALLOY, and Doris DIVER for their loving care. Ced will be interred in the family plot in Arcola, Saskatchewan. Martin, Chris, Tim, Kate, Tanya and Rowen announce, with sorrow, the peaceful passing of Mom at the Pembroke Regional Hospital. Mom is loved and missed by all of us. Our beloved friend has passed away-we will miss her greatly. Each of us has come from a part of her and this connection we will never forget. Raised as a child in Quyon, P.Q., she raised her children in Manotick, where she was active with the local Fringe Festival. Jude spent her last few years living on the Ottawa River at Sheenboro (the fort) with our Dad. She will forever be remembered for her zest for life, charismatic spirit, a great sense of humour and a flare for style. This former Beauty Queen was an artist and a loving mother. Her hobbies included collecting eclectic treasures, as well as painting all that is beautiful in nature and in life. Mom left a promising career at the House of Commons in order to devote her time to her family-for that we are thankful. Her greatest achievement was in raising her three proud and accomplished children.
Mom leaves behind her beloved husband Martin Patrick FLOOD, her much loved children Chris, his wife Tanya and daughter Rowen of Campbell River, British Columbia, Tim of Ottawa and Kate of Toronto. Mom will forever hold a special place in her heart for her best friend Mary Ann. The wake will take place at the family residence, 1 Tripp Road, Sheenboro, P.Q. on Wednesday evening August 10 from 6 to 9 p.m and at St. Mary's Church Quyon after 10 a.m. Thursday. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning August 11 at 11 o'clock in Saint Mary's Church, Quyon, P.Q. followed by the interment of her Cremated Remains in Saint Mary's Cemetery. 78, Truro, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2005, at home, surrounded by family. Born in Halifax, Yvonne was the daughter of the late Earl and Mabel (DICKSON/DIXON) MALLOY. Yvonne graduated from the Halifax Children's Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. Following graduation, Yvonne worked with the Dalhousie Public Health Clinic in tuberculosis research and also served as a private duty nurse for paediatric and adult patients. Yvonne was a dedicated Reach to Recovery Volunteer, Canadian Cancer Society, for over 25 years. Yvonne was a member of First United Church, Truro, a United Church Women member and assisted with the youth choir in the 1970's. A gracious, selfless and compassionate woman, Yvonne devoted herself to her family and her community. Passed away peacefully in his 99th year at Mount Hope in London, Ontario. Beloved father of Susan WARING of London. Dear step-father to Roly (Joy) HARMON of Gravenhurst, Ontario and Arlene HARMON of Peterborough, Ontario. Pre-deceased by his wife Wilhelmina (Billie) STEWARD/STEWART/STUART (1992) and his second wife Ila HARMON (2001.) "Grampa" will be missed by his grandchildren Winona (Bryan MALLOY) of Toronto, John (Caroline) of Ottawa and Jennifer (Justin LEUSHNER) and great-grand-daughter Madeline all of London. Peter lived his life with dignity, courage, wisdom, wit, and compassion and enriched the lives of all who knew him.
