MAIR, Dr. Bruce S., D.V.M.
Dr. Bruce S. MAIR, D.V.M., passed away February 19, age 82. Beloved husband of Helen, loving father to Amy, Rebecca, Ian, Stuart, Bruce and Matt. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren all of Michigan. Also survived by his mother Jean MAIR and sister Joanne FORDHAM of London, Ontario. Predeceased by his father Rev. William MAIR his brother Stuart MAIR and sister Elizabeth CANN. Dr. MAIR served in the Canadian Royal Navy during World War 2, graduated from Guelph University of Veterinary Medicine in 1948, immigrated to the United States to practice Veterinary Medicine and continued to do so, until his death. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., St. Valentine's Church, Redford, Michigan, February 24, 2005.

Peacefully at her daughter's home in London, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, April 19th, 2005, Jean Davis MAIR in her 100th year. Survived by much loved daughter, Joanne FORDHAM, sadly missed by granddaughters Mary-Anne SMITH, Cathy TEEGARDEN (John), Nancy BURTON (Fred), Kim HANKINSON (Steve), Lisa COUTTS (Ian). Also survived by nine grandchildren, 23 greatgrandchildren and three great-greatgrandchildren. Predeceased by husband Rev. William MAIR, daughter, Elizabeth Anne CANN, sons Stuart and Dr. Bruce MAIR, son-in-law Wayne FORDHAM, sisters Myrtle, Marjorie and Mildred, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Jean taught school for many years with the Huron County and London School Boards, and following retirement volunteered for 31 years at the London Health Sciences Centre - University Campus. Friends will be received at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Friday from 2: 00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Mount Zion United Church, 471 Ridgewood Crescent, on Saturday, April 23rd, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m. Reverend Chris KRAATZ and niece Reverend Jean BRUCE will officiate. Reception to follow. Followed by interment at Schomberg Cemetery, Schomberg, Ontario on Saturday at 4: 30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jean are asked to consider the Mount Zion United Church or Thames Road Elimville United Church, or a charity of their choice. In the presence of her family, Barbara Ann BAUER- MAISON made the transition to new life on August 31, 2005, in her 53rd year. We thank Dr. Sean BLAINE, and the many nurses who cared for her at home. Barbara very much appreciated the support of her family and Friends throughout her illness with breast cancer. Particularly, she treasured the support of Hope Springs Centre in Waterloo and L'Arche Stratford.
She was the daughter of Patricia (SCHNURR) and Raymond BAUER. She was married on August 6th, 1988, to Marc MAISON of Fontenay-Sous-Bois, France. She was the loving mother of three adopted daughters from China: Naomi 11, Elisha 9, and Natasha 7. A special daughter-in-law to Claudine and René MAISON of Fontenay-Sous-bois, France.
She is survived by her sister Brenda and her husband Pat MURPHY of Toronto, Carol and her husband Neil PALMER of St. George, Maureen and her husband David McGAHEY of Perth, Ray BAUER and his wife Renée (UFFELMAN) of Kitchener, Marianne and her husband Brian HIFF of Cambridge, Lisa and her husband Frank LEAHY of Waterloo, E.J. of Detroit, Michigan, Peter and his wife Kathleen (FITZPATRICK) of Waterloo, and Brian and his wife Holly (HAUSER) of Hawkesville. Her brother and sisters-in-law in France are, Denis and Elizabeth MAISON of Briançon, Hugues and Thérèse MAISON of Bussy-St.-George, and Laure and Benoit DUMAS of Orsay. She will be missed by over forty nieces and nephews in Canada and France.

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 4, 2005, age 80 years.
Jim was the beloved husband of Theda (née BURNETT.) Loving father of Susan BELLINGHAM, Nancy and her husband Ted MAITLAND and dear grandfather of John, Elizabeth and Sarah. Also survived by his sister Joyce and her husband Harold BARBER of Winnipeg, and their children Brian, Darryl and Beverly. He was predeceased by his father, William SAUNDERS, his mother, Mary Ellen LITTLE, his stepmother, Elizabeth Ann LITTLE and a sister Janet in infancy.
Jim was born in MacGregor, Manitoba. He took his early schooling there before joining the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve in 1943, where he served as a Signalman on H.M.C.S. Middlesex doing convoy duty in the North Atlantic. Following his discharge from the Navy in 1945, he returned to school, graduating from the University of Manitoba with a B.Comm. (Hons). In 1950, he joined Dominion Life in Waterloo, retiring in 1985 as Vice President, Individual Operations. Jim was a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and served on a number of industry committees including Council Member of the Canadian Home Office Life Underwriters Association and President from 1973-1974; Canadian Life Assurance Association Committee on Privacy as well as the Committee on Actuaries (1966-1967). Jim was an ardent curler and played in both Senior and Masters competitions at the Provincial level. He was President of Men's Curling and Mixed Curling Committees at the K-W Granite Club. Over the years, he was a Chairman of several committees organizing national curling competitions held in K-W such as two Canadian Mixed events, the World Junior and the 1986 Brier. In 1991, he was honoured to be named a Life Member of the K-W Granite Club. Jim had a marvellous 20 years of busy retired life. He volunteered his time as a Loaned Representative to the United Way in 1985 and 1986 and also as Account Executive in 1987 and 1988. He enjoyed his family immensely and the time and vacations they spent together.
Visitation will be held at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Wednesday (today) from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home Thursday, October 6, 2005, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Rick HAWLEY officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.

(May 13th, 2005). Beloved father to James, Susan, and Torn and husband to Maureen (née VASSELLA,) is finally at rest after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is lovingly remembered for his generous spirit and remarkable leadership as the longest serving high school principal in the former Scarborough Board of Education and as an active member of the executive of several professional colleges (during his "retirement") including the College of Denturists, the College of Chartered Accountants and as past president of the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists. Despite his busy career life, Del found time to actively serve his community as a founding member of the Unionville Lions' Club and as a member of the Board of Directors for Community Living York South. His role in the lives of those who knew and loved him may best be summarized as devoted husband, father, teacher, poet, mentor and friend.
