Irene
enjoyed two careers, first as a nurse having obtained an R.N.
from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in 1954. Most of her nursing
years were spent as an administrator for the Victorian Order
of Nurses in the Ottawa region. In 1969 she began a new career
as a teacher in the Hamilton Board at secondary school level,
where she remained until retirement. There will be a Service
to honour Irene at Swackhamer, Blachford and Wray Funeral Home,
1341 Main Street West (opposite McMaster), where family will
receive Friends on Saturday, November 12 from 1 until 2 p.m.
when service will take place in the Chapel. Anyone wishing to
make memorial donations may consider the Canadian Cancer Society
or a charity of choice.

WADSWORTH) passed away on Sunday, January
2, 2005 at St. Patrick's Home in Ottawa. Born to Thomas and Mary
(née LONGRIDGE) in Kamloops, on February 17, 1918. Isobel grew
up in the Okanagan Mission, alongside her cousins Kitty and Joyce
HAVERFIELD.
She attended Saint Margaret's in Vernon, the Vancouver
School of Art and the Manchester School of Art in England. At
the outbreak of World War 2 Isobel joined the Canadian Women's
Army Corp and as she said, "...spent the war years making coffee
and tea". When the war ended Isobel and her Canadian Women's
Army

SCOTT along with Geoff
SCOTT set up a
restaurant in the Gatineau. She married Ed
RYAN in 1954 and they
set up house in Old Chelsea. She continued painting and took
a great interest in gardening and Canadian history. Predeceased
by her husband in 2001, Isobel
RYAN is lovingly remembered by
her many nieces and nephews. Her Friends and family will always
remember Lid and Eddy's warm hospitality and the beautiful lake
and gardens in Old Chelsea where they lived so graciously. The

Centre - Peel Campus at the age of 55. Beloved husband to Diane
of 26 years. Loving father to Daniel, Nicole, Marc, and Eric.
Jan was a teacher at Thistletown Collegiate High School where
he taught History and Economics for many years, and was a devoted
member of Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation where
he served as a School Rep. Mr.
LONGRIDGE was also a proud foster
parent and a baseball coach for many children in Brampton as
well as his own children. Friends will be received on Thursday,
May 12, 2005 from 7-9 p.m. at the Andrews Community Funeral Centre,

outlook on life was 'how he could make it a better place to be'.
We should all take his example and grab each day as it comes
to us and live it to the fullest. He was a pivotal force in all
of our lives and will be terribly missed. Cremation has taken
place. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held

Army during World War 2 and in the Middle East as part of the
U.N. Peacekeeping Forces. After retiring from the military he
was employed as Chief of Security at Port Arthur Shipyards. James
