Peacefully, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Monday, June 27th, 2005, Florence (BERTLING) LEATHONG of Tillsonburg in her 86th year. Born in Middleton Twshp., April 7th, 1920 daughter of the late Francis (Frank) Leo BERTLING and the late former Myrtle (BARHAM) BERTLING.
(Member of the Saint John's Anglican Church, Tillsonburg and A.C.W., former member of the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, Past President of Tillsonburg Golf and Country Club (Ladies Division). "Many will remember Florence for her warm and friendly personality with her nice welcoming smile". She was a dedicated Avon Salesperson who was recognized by Avon Canada.
Predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years James A. LEATHONG (July 10, 2002). Much loved mother and mother-in-law of: Thomas LEATHONG and his wife Nancy of Burlington, Richard LEATHONG and his wife Lyn of Tillsonburg and Barbara and her husband Paul MUTTER of Brussels. Proud grandmother of: Jaime and Sean LEATHONG, Kristine ROMYN, Mehgan and Stacy LEATHONG and Curtis and Kevin Mutter. Survived by a sister Joan ADAM/ADAMS of Delhi, and two sisters-in-law Lois COOKE of Penticton, British Columbia, Marilyn PENNINGTON of London. Predeceased by two brothers: Max BERTLING and Ray BERTLING. Friends and relatives are welcome to meet with the family and share memories on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Verhoeve Funeral Home, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg (519) 842-4238. Susie Mary of Marian Villa, London and formerly of Saint Thomas, on Sunday, March 27, 2005, at the L.H.S.C. (University Campus), in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late James Dennis COLLINS and dearly loved mother of Dennis and his wife Terry COLLINS of Saint Thomas. Loved grandmother of Jim COLLINS and his wife Dina QUIGG and Tanya and her husband Ryan RUSSELL. Loved greatgrandmother of Kieran COLLINS and Cali and Natalie RUSSELL. Predeceased by a brother Albert LEATHORN.
Susie was born in London on September 9, 1907, the daughter of the late Richard and Ida (REMER) LEATHORN. She has lived in London and Saint Thomas area all her life. Susie worked for London Life and then Robertson, Ade and Dunbar Insurance. She was a member of Holy Angel's Church, the Catholic Women's League and was former member of the Marian Society. She volunteered at the Pixie Shop at the Saint Thomas Psychiatric Hospital and also at Marian Villa. Resting at William Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas until Wednesday morning and then to Holy Angel's Church for Mass of the Christian Burial at 10: 00 a.m. Visitation Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 7: 00 p.m. Private family interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Holy Angel's Church Restoration Fund.

Cherished grandmother of Wesley, Michael, Joanna, Jacquelin and Steven. Dear sister of Margaret DOMBROSKIE of Barry's Bay, Annie YANTHA, and Agnes PAKOLAK of Renfrew, and sister-in-law of Barbara MURACK of Barry's Bay.
