In her 69th year, on October 31st, 2005, Marion passed away peacefully
in the comfort of her home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Marion will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband
Brian of 48 years, her children Garth and Jason (Charlene); grandchildren
Alex and Samantha; sister's Elsie, Erna (Ian), Dorothy, Barbara
(Buck); brothers Glenn (Darlene), Ed (Judy). She was predeceased
by her parents, Edward and Katherine

Marion▲▼ was born in
Emerson, Manitoba and then spent her childhood years in Morris,
Manitoba after which she moved to Winnipeg with her sisters Erna
and Elsie. Marion left Winnipeg with Brian in the mid 1960's
spending time in Calgary, North Vancouver, Montreal, and then
Mississauga. Shortly after her diagnosis with cancer they travelled
back to the west coast settling in White Rock, British Columbia.
Despite the frequent moves Marion took great pride in establishing
the new family home. Decorating, entertaining and cooking were
amongst her favourite pastimes. Festive occasions often found
her preparing exquisite dinners attended by family and Friends.
Gardening was another of Marion's passions culminating with their
yard in White Rock, an often admired display of colourful and
fragrant rhododendrons. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt
thanks to the healthcare professionals who aided Marion during
her battle with cancer, notably, the staff at the Fraser Valley
Cancer Centre and the team from the Peace Arch Palliative Care
Centre. A memorial service will be held at Victory Memorial Park
Funeral Centre, 14831 28th Avenue, Surrey, on Saturday, November
12 at 11: 30 a.m. with the Reverend Albert Josephson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer
Society in Marion's memory.

1948. He served on the Hall-Dennis Commission on Education in
1968. He was appointed to the Council of Ontario College and

Services and was nominated for the Order of Canada. George served
on the Ontario Human Rights Commission, was named Distinguished
Educator of Ontario Institute for Studies in Education / University
of Toronto in 1997 and authored many university publications.
