Passed away in Clearwater, Florida on Thursday, November 10th, 2005 at the age of 64. Cherished husband of Dori. Beloved step-father of Robert and Michael LUCANO, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Tammy HENDERSON, of El Paso, Texas. He is lovingly remembered by his former wife, Bonnie CHOW and her husband Michael, of Kitchener his children, Roberta FARIA and her husband Bruce, of Kitchener, Rebecca KNISLEY, of Owen Sound, Jeffrey KNISLEY and his wife Julie, of Cambridge and Steven KNISLEY, of Waterloo; his grandchildren, Mary Catherine, Tristan, Christopher, Benjamin, Molly, Grace, Daniel, and Paige and his sister, Agnes WALLACE, of Owen Sound. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Ida and Alex KNISLEY; his brother, Robert and his daughter Angela, in infancy. Also by his brother-in-law, Gordon WALACE and his former wife Theresa HOLLAND. George was an avid volunteer with Kitchener Minor Sports, representing the Kitchener Green Shirts as coach for many years, with many championship teams. He was also involved in coaching the Waterloo Siskins Hockey Club and the Kitchener Braves Lacrosse Club. George was a mentor to many fine, young men. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 621 King St. W., Kitchener on Monday, Novemeber 14th, 2005 at 1: 00 p.m. with Reverand Jim LINK, C.R. officiating. Passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at Victoria Residence, Chatham. She leaves her daughter Hélène (John GUZA) of Calgary; grandchildren Michele (John AUDIA) of Mississauga, Susan and Stephen of Calgary; great-grandchildren Catherine and Nadia AUDIA; and son Stanley MATKO. She is also survived by her sisters Anna CIKATRICIS of Ridgetown. Mary (Louis KNIZET) of Winnipeg, Cecile (Ed TOOLE) of Kelowna, and Petranella PLEVZA, brother Stanley (Joan) of Milk River, Alberta; and many nieces and nephews. Josephine was predeceased by her parents Stanley and Stephanie PLEVZA, and by her husband Steve (1980) and sister Frances KOROL (1996.) She was born in Zavar, Slovakia on June 10, 1920. Her family immigrated to Canada in 1938. Throughout her life, Josephine lived in Winnipeg, Hamilton and Ridgetown. Her family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caregivers, nurses and staff at Victoria Residence for their excellent care especially during her last days. Josephine will be remembered for her love of life, family and special outings to the mountains with her grandchildren in Alberta.
