After a 2½ year battle with melanoma, Florio, in his 49th year, passed away as he wished at home, on Tuesday, September 27, 2005. He leaves behind his wife Jayne, his two sons, Marino and Marco, his mother Maria, and his only brother Silvio and sister-in-law Dorothy. Cherished uncle to Olivia and Elizabeth. Son-in-law to Ethel BRANNIGAN. Florio was known for his devotion to his wife Jayne for 25 wonderful years. His strength and determination helped him through this terrible illness. He fought his cancer head on and took every treatment available, even going to the U.S.A. He successfully ran A. Valente and Sons Construction Co. Ltd. for 25 years with his brother and partner Silvio. He was very respected in the business community and was a man of his word. He had a passion for racing and was always shining up his Porsche or Trans-Am. He was blessed with many great Friends and appreciated all the support they gave to him, especially these past few months. Special thanks to Vivian and Cosimmo, Kathleen and Paul, Lisa and John, Diana and Dominic, Marie and Dino, Bruce and Barb, Gerry and Antonella, Nancy and all the guys at Nino D'aversa. He will be fondly missed by nieces and nephews Julie, Rosie, George, Lily, Cathy and Donna, great-nieces and nephews George, Tommy, Anthony, Nicollette, Dario, Daniela, Silvio, Andrea and Sophie. He will be greatly remembered by his lifelong Friends from work and in his neighbourhood. It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the loss of our dad and grandpa, Joseph HAMPSON on Sunday, November 6th, 2005, at North York General Hospital. Dad lost his long battle with lung disease on his 74th birthday. He is cherished by his children Deborah (Bruno), Joanne (Paul) and his grandchildren Kathryn and Alessandro. Joe is predeceased by his loving wife Shirley HAMPSON (2005) and son-in-law Richard WINSTANLEY. Dad will always be remembered for his devotion to his family. Dad worked for over 30 years as a driver for Toronto Transit Commission and GO Transit and decided to retire when his granddaughter Kathryn was born. Dad was an avid model train collector and spent many weekends at model train shows with his American Flyer collection. Dad was also very active in the activities of Newtonbrook United Church. We would like to thank Dr. KIRSHEN for his kindness and wisdom, Dr. ISCOE, and nurse Elaine for their compassion and understanding and Bev BURNS for her daily visits with dad. Suddenly on May 19, 2005 at the New Horizons Tower Retirement Home. Born in Jamaica, Asley moved to Canada in 1962 and worked in both Port Credit and Calgary in the oil industry as a technician. He was a long-standing member of the Jarvis Street Baptist Church in Toronto. He is survived by his siblings Beryl KIRVEN and Osbourne LOFTERS, sons Harry McINTOSH, Peter LOFTERS, Philip LOFTERS, daughter Sophia LOFTERS- McGUIRE and ex-wife Grace LOFTERS. He will be missed by his grandchildren Adrienne, Calvin, Russell, Richard, Tiffany, Chosen, Renee and Kadian. Mother of Beth JOHNSON and her husband William GENTLES of Toronto, and Bob JOHNSON and his wife Georgena GILBERT of Ottawa. Grandmother of Cassie JOHNSTON and her partner Brent KIRWAN of Ottawa, and Christopher JOHNSTON and his wife Megan COLLINS of Vancouver, British Columbia. Mrs. JOHNSON was the last surviving member of her own immediate family, having been predeceased by sisters, Margaret and Grace Coffey and brothers, Robert E. COFFEY Jr. and Thomas L. COFFEY. Born in Saint Thomas, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. COFFEY Sr. and the late Margaret (LOWERY/LOWREY/LOWRIE/LOWRY) COFFEY. Mrs. JOHNSON was a member of Holy Angels' Roman Catholic Church, Saint Thomas and the Catholic Women's League and a former member of the Saint Thomas Curling Club and Tonti Chapter, Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire Friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington Street, Saint Thomas on Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Angels' Roman Catholic Church, Saint Thomas on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment in Holy Angels' Cemetery. Passed away peacefully in her sleep at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga on December 21st, 2004 after a brief fight with cancer and a long battle with Alzheimer's. Loving mother of John and Ingrid (Ziggy) MacKENZIE, Dan FARSLOW and Nancy KIRWIN and Bob and Kate MacKENZIE, adoring grandmother of Connor and Jennifer MacKENZIE and Taja and Misa FARSLOW and kind friend of Colin and Cecil. She will be missed by all of her Friends in Windsor and all the residents and staff at Amica and will always be remembered for her smiles, laughter and willingness to help everyone.
