After a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease, Wiera passed away on May 25, 2005. She joins her beloved husband Michael, who predeceased her in November 2004. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Luba LINOK- KALIMIN, Nadia, and Michael, her sons-in-law Michael KALIMIN and Pedro PEREYRA, and her grandchildren: Michael, Nicholas, and Mark KALIMIN, and Adrian and Alexandra Pereyra LINOK. Wiera lived most of her life in Montreal; the latter two years in Toronto. Wiera was devoted to her family and church. She will forever be remembered for her generous heart and gentle ways. Her caring hands readily provided comfort, created magic in the kitchen and in the garden. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. Beloved wife of the late Henry Edward " Harry" BANKS and dearly loved mother of Carol and her husband Robert HELMER of Sparta, Marilyn and her husband Leonard KALIN of Woodstock and John and his wife Sharyn BANKS of Toronto. Dear sister of Agnes CHALK of Aylmer and Ruth NEWLAND of Tillsonburg. Sadly missed by 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Mary was born in Calton on December 2, 1915, the daughter of the late Norman and Florence (LIDDLE) CHALK. She has lived in Saint Thomas since 1989 and formerly of London for over 60 years. She was a retired Registered Nurse at Vicitoria Hospital. She was of the Baptist Faith. A private family service will be held at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, Saint Thomas on Tuesday. Interment to follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. No public visitation. Paul died peacefully at his home in Bucharest after a year long illness on February 20, 2005 in his eighty-first year. Paul, born in Bucharest on June 18, 1924, was the only son of Radu and Mariette LAPTEV. He is survived by his son and daughter Cotty and Maria LAPTEV, their spouses Stasia LAPTEV (née DYBKA,) Andreas KALMAR, and their mother Elizabeth LAPTEV. Paul became a grandfather to Carolina LAPTEV on December 3, 2000, and was well enough to enjoy her, briefly, prior to his illness. A memorial gathering will take place in Bucharest today, followed by a cremation. Please no flowers.

Peacefully on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at the White Eagle Nursing Home, at the age of 98. Predeceased by her husband Bartlomiej. Loving mother of Leszek and his wife Victoria and Danuta BEDNARZ and her husband Bruno. Cherished Babcia to seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Jozefa will be dearly missed by her many family and Friends in Poland and Canada. Loving father of Jacqueline KALYN, Theresa (Louis) VERDONI, Michael (Liisa), Jean (Jack) MacDONALD, and John (Donna). Cherished grandfather of eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
