BURGESS,
Anne
Lawrence (née

Anne Lawrence
BURGESS (née

family, Friends and faith. She left it comforted by the same.
Anne died peacefully in Stratford in the early hours of January
26, 2005 of lung cancer, ready to join her Saviour, her husband
of 50 years William James (Bill)

oldest daughter Ruth (1946-1972). Her life will continue to be
celebrated by daughters Jean and Beth; son Bruce; sons-in-law

and grandchildren Taflyn, James and Heather. She will be remembered
always for her love and laughter by great-grandchildren Melina
and Isabel Faith; Liam and Caelym; as well as brother-in-law
Tom and wife Mary and a host of nieces and nephews. Anne felt
blessed to have enjoyed a joyful Christmas with her whole family
and visits with many Friends and relatives in her last few weeks.
Born in 1917, she lived in Toronto, Saskatchewan, Ottawa, Timmins
and Stratford. The oldest of three girls, she was predeceased
by sisters Helen

She spent summers
at the family cottage in Honey Harbour and built a Career as
a private secretary in broadcasting, advertising and for the
Canadian war effort. After World War 2, she and Bill started
their family in Timmins, where they lived for 20 years and made
forever-cherished Friends. They moved to Stratford in 1964 and
built another wonderful life there, filled with bridge clubs,
golf clubs, summers at Lake Simcoe and church. Throughout her
life, Anne was defined by her unwavering Christian faith. She
was a tireless volunteer leader for the Anglican church and stewardship
