Passed away tragically in a helicopter accident in Duncan, British Columbia. Beloved husband and best friend of Reta (née MANSVELT) adored father of Melissa (22), Stephanie (19) and Gregory (17), mother, Valda HONOUR of Peterborough, and brother, Terry HONOUR of Belleville. Predeceased by his father Robert Francis HONOUR. Son-in-law to Nick and Mary MANSVELT of Grand Lake, Nova Scotia brother-in-law to Deirdre, Chris, Carolyn, David, Jeannie, Brenda, Johnny, Wendy and their spouses. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Bob later moved to Peterborough, Ontario. He attended Royal Military College and graduated with an engineering degree. After serving with the Royal Canadian Navy he pursued his M.B.A. at Dalhousie University. His business career began in banking in Nova Scotia and Ontario. He entered the Canadian Tire Corporation in 1992 as a Dealer, beginning with a store in Ontario, and subsequent stores in Newfoundland, New Brunswick, and British Columbia. He was a devoted father and a role model to his children, instilling strong work ethics and values. He set an example for his children that with hard work and perseverance, they could achieve their goals. Bob cherished family vacations and time spent at the cottage. He will be remembered for his generosity, spirit of adventure, and sense of humour. Bob had a special place in his heart for Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and was also actively involved in The Rotary Club. Bob's passion for flying began as a private pilot at the age of 21 and continued throughout his life. He was a member of the Duncan and Nanaimo Flying Clubs, Canadian Owners and Pilots Association and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. May was a member of Avondale Zion United Church in Tillsonburg and a past auxiliary member of the Port Burwell Royal Canadian Legion. The family will receive Friends and family at Ostrander's Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (842-5221) on Monday evening April 11, 2005 from 7-9 p.m., and again Tuesday, April 12, 2005 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services for May will be held in Ostrander's Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday morning April 13, 2005 at 11 a.m. Reverend Margaret MURRAY of Avondale Zion United Church officiating. Of Harriston. At Royal Terrace, Palmerston on Saturday, June 18, 2005 in her 99th year. Wife of the late Harry E. ROBB and mother of Connie BILINSKI of Harriston, Eleanor WILSON of Oakville and Harry 'Duke' ROBB Jr. of Owen Sound. Grandmother of Michael, Peter and Leslie BILINSKI, Wendy BARRIE, Nancy and Dave WILSON, Jennifer WIERNIKOWSKI and Susan ROBB and great-grandmother of Alexander, Elizabeth and Mark WIERNIKOWSKI, Jenna, Jay and William BARRIE. Predeceased by her brothers Wilfred, Lyle and Arnott 'Sam' WHALEY and by her parents Samuel and Annie (MOHR) WHALEY. Reta lived most of her life in the Clifford and Harriston area. A graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music, she was an accomplished musician and served as organist at Knox-Calvin Presbyterian Church for many years. Reta was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by many. Thanks to Mary and Don RIVERS (cousin) and Donna HONSINGER (niece,) all from the London area who visited mom frequently at the nursing home. The family is grateful for the care given to mother at Royal Terrace. To all the caregivers there, management and staff and the many visits by Reverend Calvin LEWIS, the family offers our heartfelt gratitude. Peacefully at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Friday, February 18th, 2005, Ruby RILEY of R.R.#1 Muncey, in her 76th year. Predeceased by her husband Arthur (1974). Dear mother of Linda (Ron) HONYUST of R.R.#2 Southwold, Wendy ELLIOT/ELLIOTT of Burnaby, British Columbia, Heather BAAYEN of Bowmanville, and Richard Nicholas of R.R.#1 Muncey. Loving grandmother of Ashley, Kerri, Kyle, Alison, Samantha, and great-grandmother of Ashton. Survived by sisters Valeria (Harold) WAYLAND of Thorold and Rita DAWSON of Windsor as well as several nieces and nephews. Will be sadly missed by special friend Wilma and family.
