Loved son of the late George and Beatrice (LONG) PRIESTLEY. Loving father to Sharon (Henry) KLEPACH of Mundare, Alberta; Brenda (Gene) LAMIRANTE, of Chalk River; Marlene (Don) HUTCHINSON/HUTCHISON; Donna (Dennis) RICE; Wanda (Keith) VAMPLEW; Terry (Karalee) PRIESTLEY and Lisa (Terry) GREEN, all of Clarksburg. Best Grandpa of seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and sadly missed by his sister, Hazel HOLLINGSHEAD, of Collingwood. Predeceased by a sister Blanche GARDNER of Clarksburg and remembered by several nieces and nephews and their families. Dear brother-in-law of Muriel and Bob ANGEL, Doreen McGREGOR (late John) and Harold WOOD, Isobelle WELDRICK (late Clifford,) and Marjorie and Dennis WILLIAMS. In keeping with Ed's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be conducted at the Ferguson Funeral Home "The Valley Chapel" in Thornbury to whom arrangements have been entrusted. A celebration and remembrances of Ed's life will be conducted at a later date. Was General Manager of the London Humane Society - worked for Standard Life Assurance Co. He enjoyed coaching hockey and baseball, especially with 4 sons involved. He was a charter member of Maple Lions Club, a member of Walmer Road Baptist Church, Toronto and Wortley Baptist and First Baptist Churches in London. Suddenly at his residence on Saturday September 17, 2005. Dennis Lee EDLINGTON of Nesbitt Cres., Woodstock in his 54th year. Beloved husband of Joanne Marie EDLINGTON (née SMITH.) Beloved son of Helen WILSDON (Gerald) of London. Cherished father of Terri EDLINGTON (Andrew) and Robert EDLINGTON all of Woodstock. Loved brother of Joanne SIMPSON and her husband Wayne of Kintore. Dear son-in-law of Jewel and Gordon SMITH of Fort Erie and brother-in-law of Gail HOLLINGSHEAD and her husband John of Waterloo. Special uncle of Travis and Ben WINDLING and Kimberley and Brian HOLLINGSHEAD. Dennis was employed with the O.P.P. for over 31 years, retiring in 2003 as Staff Sargeant. He worked in various detachments including, Tillsonburg, Woodstock, Orillia, Minden, Waterdown and Simcoe and currently was employed with the Township of Zorra and South West Oxford as a bylaw officer. Dennis was a longtime member of Lions Club International and was currently President of the Lions Club of Woodstock and a volunteer with the United Way of Oxford. Passed away peacefully at the Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital on November 15, 2005, following a brief illness. Marg was predeceased by her first husband, Ralph LOUCKS, and her second husband, George WILLIAMS, as well as one son John LOUCKS and by three siblings John MEYER, Ruth McGENN and Helen COLL. She is survived by seven children, Jim (Vee) LOUCKS, Bill (Pam) LOUCKS, Mike (Colleen) LOUCKS, Peter (Heather) LOUCKS, Rob LOUCKS, David (Vicki) LOUCKS, Liz (Bernie) HOLLINGSHEAD; also survived by fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was born April 17, 1918, and raised in Port Burwell; she lived most of her life in St. Thomas. She was a staunch supporter of the Royal Canadian Legion and an avid Cottager who loved being near the water. Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia on July 27, 1928, he was the son of the late Earl Thomas and Marjorie INGRAHAM) RUDDERHAM. He was the beloved husband of 53 years to his wife, Lorraine (MOULAND;) loving father to Allan of Waterloo and Gail (HOLLINGSHEAD) of Ottawa; dear brother to Marjorie LOUNDER of Ottawa; wonderful grandfather to Julia, Derek and Brett. He was predeceased by his brother William. Retired Dean of Business at Georgian College after 25 years as a respected College professor. He was a lifetime member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. His favourite pastime was golf. He greatly enjoyed his church community and his Parkinson Society Support Group. He was a proud Cape Bretoner. The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of The Resurrection, 3191 Riverside Drive, Ottawa, on Monday, July 11, 2005 at 10 a.m. There will be no visitation. He was founding member of the First Christian Reformed Church and a founding member of the Ebenezer Christian School. He was born and raised in Brockville, Ontario, graduated from Queen's University and saw service in the Royal Canadian Air Force. After the war, he graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1948. He practiced law with the Honourable R.J.H. STANBURY and The Honourable Robert STANBURY, and served one term as a Member of Parliament. He continued the practice of law and 22 years later was appointed a county court Judge in 1972. In 1977 he was transferred to the Supreme Court of Ontario until his retirement in 1997. He leaves a devoted family, his wife Veronica and two daughters, Michelle and husband Curtis BASLER of Calgary and Roxanne HOLLINGWORTH of Toronto. Cremation - Private. A champion for 'little people'
Al HOLLINGWORTH 'gave himself to everybody else'
Lawyer, judge, politician a caring representative

It's not too often that a lawyer has a client walk into the office brandishing a handgun.
But, Allan HOLLINGWORTH was faced with that very scenario, according to long-time friend and colleague, retired senator Richard STANBURY.
The upset gunman strolled into HOLLINGWORTH's office where the two remained for 15 minutes. They walked out together, with HOLLINGWORTH consoling the gunman, arms around his shoulders.
Allan Henry HOLLINGWORTH, who went from being an intelligence officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force to the judicial bench, with stops as a lawyer and a parliamentarian, died August 16. He was 86.
"He always saw himself as the spokesman for the 'little people,'" said STANBURY. "No wonder he had Friends in every walk of life."
Born and raised in Brockville, HOLLINGWORTH earned bachelor of commerce and bachelor of arts degrees at Queen's University in four years. After leaving the air force, he graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1948 and opened his law practice on Avenue Rd. in North York.
HOLLINGWORTH was soon elected to the school board and a year later was voted into township council. In 1953, HOLLINGWORTH was sent to Ottawa as Liberal member of Parliament for York Centre.
HOLLINGWORTH earned a reputation as a caring and effective representative for his constituents. STANBURY recalled the time when people were flocking to new subdivisions in York Centre, but with no mail delivery they had to travel miles to fetch their letters from the post office.
"Al HOLLINGWORTH tried to persuade the post office to extend house-to-house mail delivery to these new homes," but to no avail, said STANBURY.
But, HOLLINGWORTH wouldn't give up. "He got the personal phone number of the postmaster general and called him every morning at 9 o'clock until he finally got house-to-house delivery established."
HOLLINGWORTH cared equally about national and international issues. He was one of the first to speak in the Commons about the need for Canada to have its own flag and he promoted Canada's foreign policy. But in 1957, HOLLINGWORTH fell victim to the "Diefenbaker Sweep" that saw the Liberal government replaced by the Conservatives under John Diefenbaker.
"It took Al six months to accept that... his constituents were not really disappointed in him," said STANBURY.
Despite his preoccupation with his career, HOLLINGWORTH was a devoted family man who loved life, said daughter Roxanne, 54.
"He would always be there and have time for me no matter what. He was just a loving, gentle, sweet man who gave up himself selflessly to his family and to everybody else."
In 1973, HOLLINGWORTH was appointed to Peel County court and four years later was promoted to the then-Supreme Court of Ontario. He remained on the bench until 1997.
HOLLINGWORTH was fluent in French, thanks in part to his French-Canadian wife Veronica, and was assigned to French-speaking cases.
He was also proficient in German, Spanish, and Italian, languages he mainly picked up by hearing interpreters in his courtroom and then studying the language at home.
But he didn't stop there, according to Roxanne. HOLLINGWORTH would attempt to speak "whatever language he could to whomever he could."
At age 80, HOLLINGWORTH was introduced to the Internet and spent hours listening to Spanish radio stations online to perfect his command of the language.
According to STANBURY, HOLLINGWORTH's English was "wonderful" and he was always trying to find unusual yet expressive words for his discourses in Parliament and in the courts.
"They were masterpieces of English and were almost always upheld in appeal," recalled HOLLINGWORTH's former law partner. "He was very proud of that."
HOLLINGWORTH's interest in and tolerance for other cultures was exemplary, said Roxanne.
"He just accepted everybody and just wanted to know so much more about everybody. He just thought the world was a place where everybody should get along and everybody should learn about each other, because when you start to learn about people, you realize that we're all the same."
HOLLINGWORTH was very active physically, working out for 1 1/2 hours every morning until three years ago. He played tennis as long as his heath allowed it, and he also skied and swam.

With▼ great sorrow, we announce the passing of Dorothy HAMILTON, in her 69th year on September 14, 2005 at the Carpenter Hospice. Beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, nana and friend. Surrounded by her family, Dorothy faced death with calm bravery. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Joseph, her love of 48 years, her son Martin and his wife Laurie; her daughter Susan and her husband Paul; her sisters Mary HOLLIS (Bobby▼) and Catherine WALLER (Peter;▼) her brothers Teddy MARTIN (Margo,) George and Geoffrey; her brother-in-law Bill JAMES; her grandchildren Kevan, Craig, Rachel and MaryClare; her many nieces, nephews and Friends. Predeceased by her parents, her dear sister Sylvia JAMES and her grand_son Finlay. Dorothy's family are deeply grateful for the compassionate care of the extraordinary volunteers and staff at the Carpenter Hospice and the nurses and staff of 2c at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Suddenly at home on Monday, June 13, 2005 at the age of 62. Beloved husband of Margaret (Rita). Loving father of Andrea and her husband John ANDERSON. Jim will be missed by Hugh and Anne QUEENEN, Eileen and Keith MIDDLETON , and Bill and Jean JAPP. He will be remembered by all of his Friends at C.S.A. Canada. Resting at the Newediuk Funeral Home, Kipling Chapel, 2104 Kipling Ave., Etobicoke (two blocks north of Rexdale Blvd.), Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10: 30 a.m. from Transfiguration of Our Lord Church, 45 Ludstone Drive. Peacefully at the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital on Thursday, August 11, 2005 in her 72nd year. Beloved wife of Bill JAMES of Bath. Loving mother of Stephen (Dorothy DOWLING) of Scottsdale, Arizona; Derek (Lucy) of Oakville and Deborah O'REILLY (Sean) of Mississauga. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Christopher, Andrew, Phillip and Meagan.
