Predeceased by his first wife Ida in 1972 and his second wife Sophie in 2000. Loving father of Erwin (Kathleen,) Eunice HOGEVEEN (Jerry,) Kathy EVERETT (Tony) and Eva MARSZEWSKI (Chris PALIERE.) He was a very proud grandfather of Cathy, Mark, Andrea, Andrew, Adam, Alan, Jessica, Jeremy, Zoe, Julia and great-grandfather of Aaron and Regan. His long and hugely blessed life began in August 1913. He lived and ministered as a Lutheran clergy in both Europe and Canada. His last fulltime congregation was Bethel Lutheran Church in Kitchener-Waterloo. Until late 2004 he served St. Paul's Polish Congregation in Toronto. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 18, 2005 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1424 Davenport Rd. (west of Dufferin), immediately followed by a reception in the Church. Passed away peacefully after a brief illness at London Health Sciences Centre Victoria Hospital on October 26, 2005 in her 85th year. Remembered with great love by her husband Reg and her children Christopher, Nicholas, David and Wendy. Christina was a veteran of World War 2 serving throughout the war with the Women's Land Army and Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service. Leaves to mourn his sons Frederick (Dyanne JACK) of Oakville and Wayne (Sharon HANLEY) of Dorval, his grandchildren Stephen (Jana), Jeffrey (Kim), Christine, Elizabeth and David, his great granddaughters, Madison and Kaitlin, and his dear sister Jean. Predeceased by his sisters Claire (Fraser) and Audrey (Morris). A special thank you to the Staff of 13 east at the Montreal General Hospital for their dedicated and compassionate care. Gordon graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering. He spent his career in the Pulp and Paper Industry, working for over 40 years for Consolidated Bathurst, first in Bathurst New Brunswick and then in Montreal. Following his retirement, Gordon and Helen moved to Peterborough where they enjoyed many years together. Gordon returned to Montreal to be near family after Helen's death in 1988. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2005 at 2 pm at Dorval-Strathmore United Church, 310 Brookhaven, Dorval. Interment at a later date in Peterborough. After a 2½ year battle with melanoma, Florio, in his 49th year, passed away as he wished at home, on Tuesday, September 27, 2005. He leaves behind his wife Jayne, his two sons, Marino and Marco, his mother Maria, and his only brother Silvio and sister-in-law Dorothy. Cherished uncle to Olivia and Elizabeth. Son-in-law to Ethel BRANNIGAN. Florio was known for his devotion to his wife Jayne for 25 wonderful years. His strength and determination helped him through this terrible illness. He fought his cancer head on and took every treatment available, even going to the U.S.A. He successfully ran A. Valente and Sons Construction Co. Ltd. for 25 years with his brother and partner Silvio. He was very respected in the business community and was a man of his word. He had a passion for racing and was always shining up his Porsche or Trans-Am. He was blessed with many great Friends and appreciated all the support they gave to him, especially these past few months.
