HAWTHORNE, Nila Elizabeth Caroline (née STEPHENSON)
Passed away peacefully, in her sleep, in Golden Dawn Senior Citizen's Centre, in Lion's Head, on Friday, May 6th, at the age of 82. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Douglas. Much loved as mother to Carolyn (Bob) SING of Hawaii, Neil of Miller Lake and Louise of Toronto. Sadly missed by her grandchildren, Buster, Bertram, Stacee, Keli'ikai and Kanoelani of Hawaii and Christopher of Toronto; also by her great-grandchildren in Hawaii: Kawika, Loreen, Ke'ala'oku'ualoha and Kana'i. Nila is survived by her sisters, Gwen STEPHENSON and Vera CLAYTON, of Burlington, and her many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at Saint Margaret's Chapel, Lion's Head, on Sunday, May 15th at 4: 00 p.m., followed by a celebration of her life in her home. For more information, call 519-795-7825. Second Memorial Service will be held at the Grace Anglican Church, in Waterdown, at 1: 00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18th. Refreshments to follow at Kitching, Steepe and Ludwig Funeral Home. Rick was a former owner of Rickert Shoes of Stratford and Chez Ami Café of London. He is survived by a special friend and partner, Don SEABROOK of London. Dear father of Shelley ALBERS (Barry) of Saint Mary's, Tracy SALMON (Brent) of Kitchener and Brad RICKERT of Stratford. Loving grandfather of Trevor and Kelsey SALMON. Broadcaster, Writer, Teacher, Gardener, World War 2 Veteran, Father, Grandfather and Husband died at Trenton Memorial Hospital, on February, 17, 2005, age 82 years. He was enlisted in the Royal Canadian Artillery, a member of Queen's Own Regiment, and served in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. Predeceased by his sister, Marjorie June, 1990. son of the late Marjorie (TIMLECK) HAWTHORNE and the late Reginal HAWTHORNE. Loving husband of Erla, for 27 years. Peacefully "Mich" passed away in his home. He is survived by his sister Jessie BIRCHALL, niece Pat HAWTHORNE and nephew Brian BIRCHALL of Toronto. Served in World War 2, "Mich" later joined Air Canada and retired after 33 years as an Aircraft Mechanic. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunted, fished, enjoyed his cottage and lived a full life.
