BOYD, Marjorie Winnifred " Johnnie" (née HAWKYARD)
(June 24, 1915 to September 20, 2005)
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marjorie Winnifred (Johnnie) Boyd (née HAWKYARD) on September 20th, 2005. She was in her 91st year when she passed away peacefully at her residence at Crescent Gardens, White Rock, British Columbia, with her daughter, Judy; son-in-law, Gerry; and grand_son, David at her side. She will be greatly missed by her family and Friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Tommy in 1982; sisters, Shirley and Kay; brother Frank; beloved daughter, Ann in 1986; and daughters-in-law, Kirsten in 1992 and Susan in 1995. She is survived by her daughter, Judy of Tsawwassen, British Columbia and son, Robert (Bob), his spouse, Julia of Ayr, Ontario; her sister, Poppy; brothers, Harry and Bill; grandchildren, Kevin, Karen, Fred, Judy, Adam, Andrew, Kathy and David; great-grandchildren, Hayley, Dawn, Alex and Aiden; and numerous nieces and nephews especially nephew, Harry NOLAN, as well as the many Friends whose lives she touched. Her zest for life was incredible and she was an inspiration to others even though she was in a wheelchair for the last 25 years... A special thank you goes to the wonderful and caring staff at Crescent Gardens who took such loving care of Johnnie for the last four and a half years. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 72 Main St. in Toronto. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Tommy, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens on another date. Peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, January 28, 2005 at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, Barbara Joan HUGHES- HAWLEY, of Tillsonburg, in her 64th year. Born in Tillsonburg, Ontario, on June 8, 1941. Dear daughter of the late James McGILLIGAN and the late former Kathleen VINCE. Barbara was a lifelong resident of the Tillsonburg area, member of St. Charles Anglican Church, member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br.#153, Tillsonburg Auxiliary, weekly volunteer of Victorian Order of Nurses Oxford Wellness Day Program and Porter Volunteer at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital.
Much loved wife of William G. HAWLEY. Dear mother and mother-in-law of: Diana Lynn and Paul MABEE, Brownsville; Larry Douglas and Shelley HUGHES, Brownville; Shelly Arlene HUGHES and dear friend Randy VAN LOUWE, Tillsonburg; Trevor Bert HAWLEY and Lisa, Tillsonburg. Predeceased by her first husband (Joe) David Earl HUGHES (1975.) SAUNDERS, William James, B. Comm., F.S.A., F.C.I.A. (1924-2005)
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 4, 2005, age 80 years.
Jim was the beloved husband of Theda (née BURNETT.) Loving father of Susan BELLINGHAM, Nancy and her husband Ted MAITLAND and dear grandfather of John, Elizabeth and Sarah. Also survived by his sister Joyce and her husband Harold BARBER of Winnipeg, and their children Brian, Darryl and Beverly. He was predeceased by his father, William SAUNDERS, his mother, Mary Ellen LITTLE, his stepmother, Elizabeth Ann LITTLE and a sister Janet in infancy.
Jim was born in MacGregor, Manitoba. He took his early schooling there before joining the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve in 1943, where he served as a Signalman on H.M.C.S. Middlesex doing convoy duty in the North Atlantic. Following his discharge from the Navy in 1945, he returned to school, graduating from the University of Manitoba with a B.Comm. (Hons). In 1950, he joined Dominion Life in Waterloo, retiring in 1985 as Vice President, Individual Operations. Jim was a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and served on a number of industry committees including Council Member of the Canadian Home Office Life Underwriters Association and President from 1973-1974; Canadian Life Assurance Association Committee on Privacy as well as the Committee on Actuaries (1966-1967). Jim was an ardent curler and played in both Senior and Masters competitions at the Provincial level. He was President of Men's Curling and Mixed Curling Committees at the K-W Granite Club. Over the years, he was a Chairman of several committees organizing national curling competitions held in K-W such as two Canadian Mixed events, the World Junior and the 1986 Brier. In 1991, he was honoured to be named a Life Member of the K-W Granite Club. Jim had a marvellous 20 years of busy retired life. He volunteered his time as a Loaned Representative to the United Way in 1985 and 1986 and also as Account Executive in 1987 and 1988. He enjoyed his family immensely and the time and vacations they spent together.
Visitation will be held at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Wednesday (today) from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home Thursday, October 6, 2005, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Rick HAWLEY officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jim's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association and can be arranged through the funeral home.

Mary was a dedicated member of Southport Golf Club, an avid Blue Jay fan, a great bridge player, and a wonderful quilter and needlepoint artist. It is with great sadness that the family announces that "Frank" passed away on Tuesday, December 20th, 2005 at Aurora Resthaven Nursing Home, in his 80th year. Frank is predeceased by his beloved wife Myrtle. Cherished father of Gerry (Heather), Phillip (Cindy) and David (Mavis). Loving grandfather of Wade, Rhonda, Sheryl, Russ, Graham and Katie. Proud great-grandfather of Aurora, Braden, Isabella and Clara. Remembered by his brothers Al, Don and Gord. Friends will be received at the Graham A.
