Ben lived a full and profound
life, living in all the provinces of Canada. He proudly served
in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a radio officer during the
Korean War. He served as a member of the Board of Directors for
the "By-gone Days" Farm Museum. He was also on the Board of Directors
for the Alzheimer's Society and was the producer of the television
show "Grandparents' Memories". Ben was an unwavering volunteer
at Sunset Manor Nursing Home, as well as numerous other groups.
Interment will be in the spring at Wasaga Beach Cemetery.

Although Jack was a history specialist for 39 years, his first
love was always music. Having been taught percussion by his beloved
father, Jack played drums in a combo at King Edward Public School
when the students marched into school. He then went on to play
in the Harmony Orchestra walking along Bloor Street on Sunday
mornings with his friend Vic
FELBRILL, drum and violin in hand.
Jack also played in the Harbord Orchestra and sang in early television,
choir and grandstand shows. Jack was a member of the Initial
Festival Singers at the Stratford Festival Inauguration. Throughout
his career, he conducted numerous school and community choirs
and book shows, ending with seventeen years in Florida with a
choir of thirty retirees.

Despite being diagnosed with a brain tumor almost year ago, Naomi
continued to live her life to the fullest. She continued to have

Agency and the Palliative Care Ward at Vancouver General Hospital

Naomi lived a full, but short life. She studied at Vancouver
Talmud Torah and Magee High School. At 16 she traveled to France
to attend school there. Her university education was at McGill
(B.A., 1990), Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1989) and University
of Toronto (M.B.A., 1998) where she was her class president.
From 1994 to 1996 she worked, first as a volunteer, and then
as a manager, at The United Way of Greater Vancouver. From 1988
to 2001 she worked as a management consultant with AT Kearney,
dividing her time between her home with Daniel in Toronto and
cities across North America, including New York where she and
Daniel lived from 2000 to 2002. In 2002 Naomi and Daniel returned
to Vancouver, where Naomi worked with Arts Umbrella where she
was instrumental in the establishment of the endowment fund in
honor of Carol Henriquez.
Naomi was also active in the community, as a board member of
the Jewish Family Service Agency of Vancouver and co-chair of
its 'Innovators Lunch' held in April 2004, and co-chair of the
Ben Gurion Society and of the Family Day of the Jewish Federation
of Greater Vancouver.
Family and Friends were central to Naomi's life. She had the
ability to touch each of them all of the time. Her children bear
the indelible stamp of her love. She will be missed and remembered
by many.
Funeral services will be held at Temple Sholom in Vancouver at
7190 Oak Street on Sunday, June 26, 2005 at 10: 00 a.m. with the
burial to follow at Temple Sholom's Cemetery in White Rock. (Shiva
arrangements will be announced at the funeral.)
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to
the Naomi Fund at the Jewish Family Service Agency. The Naomi
Fund will support families and individuals facing medical crisis
in our community who are not fortunate enough to have a group
of family and Friends such as those who were available to provide

J. passed away on January 13, 2005 in Henderson,
Nevada. Daniel was born on August 19, 1919 in Manchester, New
Hampshire to the late Emilia and Jacob
SWIST. He graduated the
University of Alabama where he earned a B. S. degree in Business
Administration and Accounting. His entire Business School senior
class enlisted in the military after Pearl Harbor and he served
in the combat infantry in France, Germany and Holland, receiving
several commendations. Later, he graduated from the Boston University
Law School and began a career in government. He worked in Washington,
D.C. for the State Department, the Department of Labor and the
Treasury Department's Internal Revenue Service. Daniel married
the love of his life, Wilda Ethel
GALLOWAY on November 27, 1963.
In 1976, he and Wilda retired to Clearwater, Florida and later
moved to Phoenix, Arizona. His beloved wife Wilda died on September
1, 1998 and the light went out of his life. He is also predeceased
by his sister, Wanda

at his side on July 6, 2005 after a long struggle recovering
from heart surgery. He was in his 79th year.

in June 2005. His life and marriage remain an inspiration.
David leaves behind a world enriched by his efforts in business,

COLBERT and Helen. Bob retired from his position at Dofasco as
Sr. Vice-President, Corporate Administration in 1997 after 39
years of service. Bob was sitting on the board of the St. Lawrence
Seaway Management Corporation (Chairman 1998-2004) at the time
of his death. Bob had also served as President of Algoma Steel
Corp. (1990-1991) and had served on the boards of the Hamilton
Port Authority, Sorevco Inc., Gallatin Steel, Prudential Steel
Ltd. Ontario Labour Relations Board, Hamilton Civic Hospitals,
Hamilton-Wentworth Police Citizens Advisory Board and Participation
House. Bob was a member of the Hamilton Golf and Country Club,
Hamilton Chamber of Commerce (President 1997-98, Chairman 1998-99),
International Iron and Steel Institute, Conference Board of Canada
and the Council of Human Resource Executives. At Bob's request,
cremation has taken place, his family will receive Friends at
the M.A. Clark and Sons Funeral Home, 567 Upper Wellington Street,
Hamilton, Saturday 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral
celebration to be held at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, 70
James Street South (at Jackson), Hamilton, on Monday, November
21 at 3: 00 p.m. Reception to follow at Hamilton Golf and Country
Club, Ancaster. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart
and Stroke Foundation, St. Paul's Presbyterian Church or the
