It is with great sorrow that our family announces the passing of our father on January 17, 2005, in his 74th year. Cherished husband of Constance Lillian PICH (née HATHEWAY.) Beloved father of Cheryl, Gorden, Jeffrey, and Penni. Grandfather to Sara, Amy, Jamie, Josh Jessica, Erica, Erin, Emma, and Lillian. He will be sadly missed by brothers Lavern PICH, Bobby PICH and sisters Yvonne BALL and Juanita ALLEN. Ben lived a full and profound life, living in all the provinces of Canada. He proudly served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a radio officer during the Korean War. He served as a member of the Board of Directors for the "By-gone Days" Farm Museum. He was also on the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer's Society and was the producer of the television show "Grandparents' Memories". Ben was an unwavering volunteer at Sunset Manor Nursing Home, as well as numerous other groups. Interment will be in the spring at Wasaga Beach Cemetery.

Although Jack was a history specialist for 39 years, his first love was always music. Having been taught percussion by his beloved father, Jack played drums in a combo at King Edward Public School when the students marched into school. He then went on to play in the Harmony Orchestra walking along Bloor Street on Sunday mornings with his friend Vic FELBRILL, drum and violin in hand. Jack also played in the Harbord Orchestra and sang in early television, choir and grandstand shows. Jack was a member of the Initial Festival Singers at the Stratford Festival Inauguration. Throughout his career, he conducted numerous school and community choirs and book shows, ending with seventeen years in Florida with a choir of thirty retirees.

Born October 3, 1970 passed away peacefully on June 23, 2005 surrounded by her family.
Despite being diagnosed with a brain tumor almost year ago, Naomi continued to live her life to the fullest. She continued to have hope, and continued to give to, and draw strength from, an enormous group of family and Friends.
Naomi is survived by her husband, Daniel STEINER, her four year old son Benjamin and one year old daughter, Bella, her parents Arlene GLADSTONE and Hamish CAMERON and Mitchell and Lynne GROPPER, her grandmother, Zoe GROPPER, brother Daniel GROPPER (Tamara) Aaron GROPPER, Ross CAMERON, Hamish CAMERON (Patricia), Grant CAMERON and Dory CAMERON (Gordon) and Daniel's parents, Norma and George STEINER, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family thanks Doctors Brian THIESSEN, Michael McKENZIE, Warren MASON, Beverly SPRING, Keith HATLELID and Lori MacFARLANE, as well as the caring nurses and staff of the British Columbia Cancer Agency and the Palliative Care Ward at Vancouver General Hospital for their support and guidance.
Naomi lived a full, but short life. She studied at Vancouver Talmud Torah and Magee High School. At 16 she traveled to France to attend school there. Her university education was at McGill (B.A., 1990), Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1989) and University of Toronto (M.B.A., 1998) where she was her class president. From 1994 to 1996 she worked, first as a volunteer, and then as a manager, at The United Way of Greater Vancouver. From 1988 to 2001 she worked as a management consultant with AT Kearney, dividing her time between her home with Daniel in Toronto and cities across North America, including New York where she and Daniel lived from 2000 to 2002. In 2002 Naomi and Daniel returned to Vancouver, where Naomi worked with Arts Umbrella where she was instrumental in the establishment of the endowment fund in honor of Carol Henriquez.
Naomi was also active in the community, as a board member of the Jewish Family Service Agency of Vancouver and co-chair of its 'Innovators Lunch' held in April 2004, and co-chair of the Ben Gurion Society and of the Family Day of the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver.
Family and Friends were central to Naomi's life. She had the ability to touch each of them all of the time. Her children bear the indelible stamp of her love. She will be missed and remembered by many.
Funeral services will be held at Temple Sholom in Vancouver at 7190 Oak Street on Sunday, June 26, 2005 at 10: 00 a.m. with the burial to follow at Temple Sholom's Cemetery in White Rock. (Shiva arrangements will be announced at the funeral.)
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Naomi Fund at the Jewish Family Service Agency. The Naomi Fund will support families and individuals facing medical crisis in our community who are not fortunate enough to have a group of family and Friends such as those who were available to provide strength to Naomi. It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Eleanor DEISLEY (née HANSON,) wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, at the age of 71. Survived by best friend and husband William (Bill) DEISLEY; 6 children, Ellen, Terry, Cindy DEISLEY (Tim,) David (Heather) all of London, Bill (Janet) of Ingersoll, and Jim (Denise) of Mount Brydges; 9 grandchildren, Penny, Darryl, Christina, Jason, Carson, Timothy, Melissa, Matthew, Tyler and Emily, and one great-grandchild Noah. Also survived by her sisters Mary MARTIN (Ted) of Oakville, and Beatrice BANKS (Jack) of Norwich. Beloved sister-in-law of Carol ROGERS and Joyce STRICKER (deceased.) Eleanor will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her grand_son James DEISLEY, and by her sister Jean McCONNEL. SWIST, Daniel J. passed away on January 13, 2005 in Henderson, Nevada. Daniel was born on August 19, 1919 in Manchester, New Hampshire to the late Emilia and Jacob SWIST. He graduated the University of Alabama where he earned a B. S. degree in Business Administration and Accounting. His entire Business School senior class enlisted in the military after Pearl Harbor and he served in the combat infantry in France, Germany and Holland, receiving several commendations. Later, he graduated from the Boston University Law School and began a career in government. He worked in Washington, D.C. for the State Department, the Department of Labor and the Treasury Department's Internal Revenue Service. Daniel married the love of his life, Wilda Ethel GALLOWAY on November 27, 1963. In 1976, he and Wilda retired to Clearwater, Florida and later moved to Phoenix, Arizona. His beloved wife Wilda died on September 1, 1998 and the light went out of his life. He is also predeceased by his sister, Wanda PIEKOS. He is survived by a host of nieces: Sonia-Kay KEIRSTEAD of Tallahassee, Florida; Janie M. RAY of Lowell, Massachusetts; Sheila HATT, Helen SAWCHUK, Edith GALLOWAY, Virginia WYLDE, Wilda MARDLIN, June EDWARDS, Mary Lou DOUGLAS/DOUGLASS, Cathy GALLOWAY, and Dr. Susan Burgess NESBITT, all of Canada, and two nephews also of Canada, Charles BURGESS and Thomas GALLOWAY. A military and memorial service will take place for both Daniel and Wilda SWIST at the National Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona on March 10, 2005 at 1: 00 p.m.

Treasured husband of Valerie HATTEN, cherished son of Lilla and the late Julian D'OLIVEIRA, precious brother of Denise (Francis) and David, beloved uncle of Chike, Adom and Asha JEFFERS. Fondly remembered by aunts, uncles, cousins and Friends. Derek passed away on September 19, 2005 in Houston, Texas, at the age of 53 after a brief but devastating illness. He was born in Guyana, came to Canada in 1969 and graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. For many years, he has been an Associate and Counsel with the firm of Swanick and Associates. Because of Derek's lifelong love of reading and libraries, Friends are invited to make donations in his name to the Toronto Public Library Foundation. LEAKER, David Thomas (September 11, 1926-July 6, 2005)
David Thomas LEAKER of Edmonton passed away peacefully with family at his side on July 6, 2005 after a long struggle recovering from heart surgery. He was in his 79th year.
Beloved husband, partner, soul mate and best friend of Shirley LEAKER (née BAILLIE,) they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June 2005. His life and marriage remain an inspiration.
David leaves behind a world enriched by his efforts in business, in Friendship, in community service and most especially in his love and dedication to his family.
Left behind not merely to grieve in sadness but to celebrate and cherish a life well lived are daughter Cathy LEAKER and her partner Amy PHILLIPS of Great Neck, Long Island, U.S.A.; son Richard LEAKER and his wife Sandra FOY of Edmonton and son Michael LEAKER and his wife Karen FRUETEL and his three beloved grandchildren, Sarah, Ben and Hannah, all of London, Ontario. He taught us the true meaning of generosity, commitment and honesty.
He is survived by his sister Gwen HATTER, and brother John LEAKER, and will also be missed by his sisters-in-law Elsie LEAKER and Joan FINDLAY and brother-in-law Gerald HATCH; together with many nieces and nephews.
Too numerous to mention, David touched so many people through work, volunteerism, family and Friendship. His retirement years were given over to extensive community service and he was proud of his work with The Sir Winston Churchill Society (Edmonton) the Heritage Sites committee, Edmonton historical board and the Edmonton Advisory Board of the Salvation Army, to list but a few.
A private cremation and family gathering are planned. A memorial celebration for family and Friends, to be held in London, Ontario, will be announced at a later date.

Bob retired from his position at Dofasco as Sr. Vice-President, Corporate Administration in 1997 after 39 years of service. Bob was sitting on the board of the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation (Chairman 1998-2004) at the time of his death. Bob had also served as President of Algoma Steel Corp. (1990-1991) and had served on the boards of the Hamilton Port Authority, Sorevco Inc., Gallatin Steel, Prudential Steel Ltd.
