Warren died in his 96th year at Kitchener on 4th January 2005. Warren, affectionately called "Sparky" by his many Friends was predeceased by his loving wife Letha Jean SPARKS (née BRUCE) in 1997. Warren was the eldest child of James and Sarah (PELLOW) SPARKS and was born on the family farm in 1909 near Princeton, Ontario. He spent most of his teaching career in Schumacher, Ontario ending it as Principal of Schumacher High School. Warren is survived by his sister Anna ELMES (the late Rupert) and is predeceased by his brothers Lindsay (Isabel SPARKS,) Earl (Jean SPARKS,) Ralph (the late Janet SPARKS) and Allan. As well Warren is predeceased by his daughter Mary (Doug ALEXANDER) of Thunder Bay and is survived by his children Shirley WEISMAN (the late Gustav WEISMAN) of Stouffville, Jim SPARKS (Karen SPARKS) of Erin and Susan HALL (Harry HALL) of Uxbridge. Of Guelph and WahWah Taysee Georgian Bay, in his 75th year. Best friend and beloved husband of Beverley (STRONG) HALE for 51 years. Proud father of Linda HALE (George DAUNT) of Old Orchard Farm, Moffat, Ontario and Dr. Fraser (Sandy) HALE (Monica FORGET) of Fergus Ontario. Adoring Poppa to grandchildren Willy and Marnie HALE and Vanessa Hale DAUNT (Tess,) many nieces and nephews and dozens of farm brats.
Fraser was predeceased by his brother William Homer HALE (1979) and is survived by his sister Pat BOOTHE (Doug) of Hamilton and brother Peter of Marina del Rey, California.
Born in Hamilton, he attended Hillfield School and McMaster University there, St. Andrew's College in Aurora and graduated from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, University of Pennsylvania.
Like his father and grandfather Fraser's working years were dedicated to the Canada Life Assurance Company. For 38 years he worked throughout Canada and the U.S. He wrote two very popular insurance books as well as many articles and text material for the provincial insurance department, the insurance industry and his company.
In his later working years (he retired at 60) he was much in demand as a speaker, particularly in the U.S.
He frequently contributed articles to the Guelph Mercury and Georgian Bay Today.
Fraser was a lifelong supporter of the arts and a volunteer. From the opening day of the River Run Centre, he and Bev were there more than 300 times ushering, bartending, writing training material or whatever needed doing. In recent years he has served on the Advisory Board of Touchmark Theatre, the Board of the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony, the Guelph Chamber Choir and the Guelph Spring Festival (president).
As with two generations before him and three following him the family are all dedicated to their special part of Georgian Bay. Many cousins and neighbours will miss seeing Fraser row his boat through the islands.
Friends will be received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home and Chapel 206 Norfolk Street, Guelph (Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm) A private family service will be held. Cremation Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph.

Suddenly, at his residence, on Friday, December 2, 2005. Beloved husband of the late Marjorie Mae HOWARD (deceased 1997.) Loving step-father of Byran JAY (his wife Kathleen,) Cheryl JAY, Nadine JORDAN and Kevin JAY. Sadly missed by his grandchildren and many Friends. Predeceased by his sister Gladys HALE. A Service will be held in the Chapel of the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Ave. West, Toronto (2 stoplights west of Yonge Street), on Tuesday, December 6 at 1 p.m., with visiting 1 hour prior. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Princess Margaret Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
