He was a Veteran of World War 2, having served in the Italian
Air Force from 1940-1945. Friends are invited to call at J.J.
Patterson and Sons Funeral Residence, 19 Young Street, Welland,
on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where a Vigil will be conducted
at 3 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday after 12 noon until
proceeding to Saint Mary's Church where the Funeral Mass will be
celebrated at 1: 30 p.m. Rite of Committal at Pleasantview Mausoleum.

Died peacefully in Centre Grey General Hospital, Markdale. Ronald
was born in Wales while his parents were serving in the First
World War. Following the war, they returned to Canada to settle
near Stettler, Alberta. After nine years on the homestead, the
family, now including a brother, William, left the farm and moved
to Calgary where, in 1932, Ron's Mother represented a city riding
in Alberta's first Social Credit Government. Ron completed high
school and college in Calgary, and later completed a business
course in Chicago. He married Jeanette
WINDSOR, in 1941, and
joined the army weeks later. He was stationed in Ottawa and Toronto,
serving as a court reporter. At the end of the war, Ron was the
national Secretary of the Social Credit Party, and subsequently
left that position to start his own newspaper, and lecturing
business, which he continued for fifty-five years. Early years
of this period were spent in Walter's Falls, with a move to Flesherton
in 1952. He was the author of several booklets and was well known
internationally for his

Bob ALLEN passed away quietly on August 20th, 2005 in Toronto
after a long struggle with cancer. Born in Toronto on October
19, 1917 he was a graduate of Trinity College at the University
of Toronto, and served in the communications corps of the Canadian
Forces during World War 2. Bob began his career with the Canadian
Broadcasting Corporation writing and producing radio drama for
Andrew Allan in the late 40's. He was invited to help launch
television drama when Canadian Broadcasting Corporation television
went on air in 1952 and was one of the architects of Canadian
Broadcasting Corporation's 'Golden Age' of drama throughout the
50s and 60s. He finally retired in the late 80s after writing
producing directing and executive producing thousands of hours
of television drama for such shows as Sunshine Schetches Festival,
Folio, Opening Night The Great Detective and Seeing Things. He
contributed enormously through his passion, intelligence, knowledge
and generosity to the development of two generations of talent
in the Canadian film and television industries, always filtered
though his unique sense of humour. He will be greatly missed.
