Tuesday, March 1st, 2005 at Toronto Western Hospital surrounded
by his loved ones who sang him to sleep in his beloved Yiddish.
Dear friend, loyal khaver, Motel survived the Holocaust and built
a new, rich, culturally vibrant, and committed life in Canada
with his much-loved Sara. Motel was larger than life. He had
enthusiasm, passion, love, and song in his soul. He enriched
the lives of all he knew and left his magic in our hearts. He
was a secular Jew, secure and confident in his origins, and in
who he was. It permitted him to be open, accepting, questioning
and embracing of everything that life had to offer. His Friends
were drawn to him because they found nourishment and sustenance
in his presence. We will miss you. We love you very, very much.

Two die in Hwy. 26 crash

A funeral mass was held Tuesday morning at St. Patrick's Roman
Catholic
Church in Stayner for John
GOORTS, 46, who died in a
fiery accident on Hwy. 26 Friday.
Also dead was Stephen
WILKINSON, 48, of Barrie.
The mishap took place just before 5: 30 p.m., when the road was
busy with weekend traffic.
Huronia West Ontario Provincial Police said that an Oldsmobile
Alero, driven by
WILKINSON, was eastbound when it struck a westbound
Oldsmobile Intrigue.
According to police, after hitting the Intrigue the Alero continued
eastbound and collided with a westbound Volkswagen Jetta, driven
by GOORTS.
The two men were transported by ambulance to Collingwood General
& Marine Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Donations to a trust fund for
GOORTS' daughters, Leah, 14 and
twins Jenna and Kara, 12 are being accepted at the Stayner branch
of Toronto-Dominion Canada Trust.

Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus, the Homewood Health Centre
in Guelph, with the Victorian Order of Nurses and as a private
duty nurse. Friends will be received at the Thomson and Collins
Funeral Home, 160 St. David Street North, Fergus, on Tuesday
from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service in the Chapel on Wednesday,
October 19, 2005 at 11: 30 a.m., with Reverend David
WHITECROSS officiating.
Following a service of committal at Belsyde Cemetery, a reception
will be held at the Fergus Legion. For those who wish, memorial
donations to Groves Hospital Building Fund or Sleep/Wake Disorders
