Passed peacefully on March 8th, 2005 at Lions Gate Hospital. Born in Toronto on July 7th, 1930, Al opened his heart to everyone and brought much love and happiness to all who knew him. His family was his life and his memory and courageous example will influence them always. He was a wonderful, kind, interesting man and will be deeply missed by Margery, his loving wife of 44 years, his children Victoria (David) GOODE, John (Jennifer,) and Peter (Ruthie) and by his adored grandchildren Zoe, Lauren, Tyler and Charlotte. Dad has joined his 1st child, Elizabeth, who left him young and never left his heart. He led an adventurous life and enjoyed it to the full. Passed away peacefully in his 87th year on Friday, April 15, 2005 in the arms of his family at Trillium Hospital. Gerry was lovingly cared for by his wife Betty since his earlier stroke in 1998 and they would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. Gerry's humour and concern for others will be sadly missed by those who knew him. He loved seeing his grandchildren Emma and Scott LEON, Kent and Meghan SCHULTZ, and Leah HILL. He was a wonderful papa. Beloved father of Maxine and her husband Eric, Clark and Sue SIMPSON and her daughter Martha, Mary Anne and her husband Robin. Predeceased by his daughter Valerie and his sisters Pat GORDON, Ruth GOODE and Jess FALLIS. Best friend to his brother Dr. Max SCHULTZ and sister Dorothy McDONALD. Brother-in-law and dear friend of Elsie and Dave HOLMES (deceased,) Ginny and John ROSS, Hugh and Francis ROSS (both deceased.) After graduating from Queen's University, Gerry served in World War 2 with the 1st Division of the Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineers in Sicily, Italy, Belgium, France, Holland and Germany. He was still close Friends with the VAN OORLE family of Belgium, who invited the young officer to live in their home while stationed nearby. Gerry was born in Thessalon and loved Northern Ontario. He worked for many years in the lumber industry as had his father Charles SCHULTZ before him, spending 3 years as a logging superintendent for Abitibi. Three dams that he built on the Mississaugi River are still in operation. His family also ran Schultz Hardware in Thessalon. Upon moving to Toronto, he worked until his retirement as Manager of Technical Services at Goodyear Canada in New Toronto. Mr. SCHULTZ is resting at the funeral home of Skinner and Middlebrook Ltd., 128 Lakeshore Rd. E. Kingston, Ontario -- Donald TYTLER, who sailed for Canada in two Olympic regattas, has died at Kingston, Ontario He was 81.
In 1952, Mr. TYTLER joined skipper Bill GOODERHAM and other crewmen aboard the six-metre Canadian yacht Trickson VI in the waters off Finland's Harmaja lighthouse. The crew finished seventh overall in an event won by Americans aboard Llanoria. The Canadians' best result came with a second-place finish, three minutes behind Llanoria, on the fourth of seven race days. It was a day of gentle but constantly changing winds that demanded immediate decisions about sails.
Mr. TYTLER returned to Olympic competition in 1956, joining helmsman Dave HOWARD and his brother Cliff HOWARD on Tomahawk III. The Dragon-class racing sloop was sailed from Toronto to Montreal, where it travelled to Australia as deck cargo on a freighter. The journey lasted seven weeks.
Racing in the open waters of Port Phillip Bay, outside Melbourne, the Canadian crew finished eighth in the Dragon competition.
While his crews were competitive if not victorious at the Olympics, Mr. TYTLER could claim a share of the North American six-metre championship in 1954. He joined a Royal Canadian Yacht Club crew skippered by Mr. GOODERHAM aboard Buzzy II, which defeated 12 other crafts in three days of racing on Lake Ontario. The sailors were awarded The Globe and Mail Trophy by the newspaper's publisher.
Donald Milne TYTLER was born in Toronto on March 8, 1925. During the Second World War, he served in the navy. In 1949, he graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in mechanical engineering and worked for the Toronto school board for 20 years. He died at Kingston General Hospital on November 15.

Peacefully, at her home in Owen Sound, on Friday, June 17th, 2005. Eira Ivy HART (née JAMES) of Owen Sound, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late David HART. Loving mother of Brenda SHURETY and her husband, Michael, of Owen Sound, Gerald HART and his wife, Jane, Jackie GOODES and her husband, Peter, and Derek HART and his wife, Julie, all of the United Kingdom. Proud grandmother of Samantha SHURETY, Christopher SHURETY, Georgina HART, Tim HART, Kaye BUSTIN and her husband, Tim, Jonathon GOODES and his wife, Emma, Scott HART and Jodi HART; and great-grandmother of Ella BUSTIN and Mark GOODES. Predeceased by her parents, Ivy and May JAMES. Eira HART was a lady of high energy and strong will. She raised four babies and young children in London, England by herself during the bombing blitz of the 1939-45 war, as her husband was away fighting. He was wounded during the Italy Landings and lost an eye. After the war, Eira and her husband, David, ran several retail businesses. Eira's strong character and will ensured that the businesses prospered. After retirement, she immigrated to Canada to live with her eldest daughter, Brenda SHURETY and her family. She became the much loved matriarch of the family and will be missed terribly. She was a grand old lady of great willpower and had an even greater generosity of heart. A Funeral Service for Eira HART will be held in the Chapel of the Brian E. GOODEVE, Arthur George
Suddenly on December 21, 2005 at the age of 83. George was born in Ottawa on April 10, 1922. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy at the outbreak of World War 2 and rose from Midshipman to Lieutenant Commander, surviving the sinking of his ship, the Levis, in 1941. He has lived in every region and most major cities in Canada, working in financial roles in various capacities particularly in the mining industry. He retired in 1982 and moved to Victoria, British Columbia. George is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alice; beloved father of Philip GOODEVE, Susan (David) MARTIN, Anne (Ron) YUNGWIRTH and Victoria (Ian) NOBLE. He is also survived by 11 loving grandchildren.
A celebration of George's life will be held at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1155 Fort Street, on Wednesday, December 28 at 2: 00 p.m. with a reception to follow in the Holly Room. If desired, donations in George's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Our dear mother and friend passed away quickly and peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2005 in Burlington. She was 87 and had been suffering from debilitating strokes for several months. Her life was marked by commitment and devotion - to us, her loving daughters Donna (GOODFELLOW) and Bonnie (MORGAN;) to her devoted sons-in-law Fred GOODFELLOW and John DUNCAN; to her cherished grandchildren, Ryan and his wife Joanna and Lindsay and her husband Danny BROWN; to our late father Tommy (BROWN) and our late stepfather Maurice. A long time and loyal employee of Campbell's Soup Company, as private Secretary to nine presidents. She leaves with fond memory, her brothers Don DALY and Carl DALY, her sisters Elma COCHRANE and Velma ORR, and their families in Timmins; her dear Friends Dene MALOTT, Connie MORRIS, Roz MAGUIRE and so many others that she touched in her sweet way. We have been truly blessed to have had her in our lives to show us what quiet, gentle strength is.
