Of Greenwood Court, Stratford, died peacefully at her residence on Friday, September 16, 2005, at the age of 101. She was born near Cookstown on January 27, 1904, the daughter of the late Watson HODGSON and the former Emily McKELVEY. She was the wife of the late Wilfred KNEESHAW who died in 1965. She is survived by daughters Noreen PETRO (George), Waterloo; Jean JACKSON (George), Thornhill; Margaret DINGMAN (Charles), Stratford; and Dr. Muriel KNEESHAW, New York; grandchildren David PETRO (Anita GATTI), Waterloo; Ronald PETRO (Isabel), Kitchener; Susan TIFFIN (Mark), Maple; Catharine MARTIN (Kenneth), Toronto; Janet JACKSON, Newmarket Barbara HERTZMAN (Norman), Toronto; Carolyn DINGMAN (Bradley BRAEKEVELT), Stratford; Robert DINGMAN (Jennifer McTAVISH), Kitchener Brian DINGMAN (Dawn,) Stratford; great-grandchildren Adam and Michael PETRO; Claire, Corinna and Luke PETRO; Andrew, Stephanie and Jacqueline TIFFIN; James, Sean and Nicola MARTIN; and Cameron DINGMAN. She was predeceased by brothers Matthew, Herbert (Bobbie,) Harold and her sister Glenna QUINN (Wilfrid.) Amanda was a graduate of Toronto Normal School and taught elementary school in the Bradford area and Thornhill for 10 years prior to her marriage in 1933. She and her husband farmed on Highway 11 north of Bradford until his death when she moved to Bradford where she served as assistant librarian at the Bradford Public Library. She and her husband were devoted to their family, their church and their community. She moved to Stratford in 1998. Angus died suddenly in Thornhill, Ontario on Sunday, August 14, 2005. Born in Thunder Bay on February 19, 1974 Adam was the only son of Lee ANGUS (Ed DALE) of Thornhill and Iain ANGUS (Marlene LINDSAY) of Thunder Bay. He is survived by a sister, Susan DEGRAZIA (Mike) and their children Ashley, Kelsey and Nicholas of Thunder Bay. He was predeceased by a sister Rebecca Lee ANGUS in 1973. Also surviving are grandparents Tom and Evelyn TOWNS of Thunder Bay, Uncle and Aunt Calvin and Maureen TOWNS and their daughters (Sherwood Park, Alberta,) Uncle Murray ANGUS and his daughters (Ottawa,) his step-grandfather Owen LINDSAY (Atikokan,) step-sister Laura GATTO (Peter) and their three children (Guelph) and a step-brother Adrian DALE (Toronto.) Adam is also survived by lifetime family Friends Allan, Roz, Alison (Mark,) Aaron and Samantha COX (Rob.) Numerous other relatives also survive. In Thunder Bay Adam attended Queen Elizabeth and Agnew Johnston Elementary schools and Churchill High School. He graduated from Confederation College with a diploma in General Arts and Science. As a youngster he was a member of the Thunderbolts Swim Club and later competed in ski jumping events such as the national junior competition at Calgary Olympic Park. Adam spent most of his adult life working for the New Democratic Party as a volunteer and as a staff member. He worked in numerous elections across the country, served as campaign manager in one by-election and was co-ordinator of the Fort Frances campaign of Ontario New Democratic Party Leader Howard Hampton, Member of Provincial Parliament. He also spent significant time conducting membership drives across Ontario. For two years he worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Hon. Lorne Nystrom, New Democratic Party Member of Parliament in his Ottawa office and provided initial co-ordination on the member's of Parliament last leadership campaign. He had been involved in the labour movement as a member and activist in United Food and Commercial Workers Canada, C.E.P. and most recently International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, where he was pursuing an electrical apprenticeship. He was also active with The Friends of Chippewa Park. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Adam ANGUS will be held on Friday, August 19 at 11: 00 a.m. at Jenkens Funeral Home, 226 S. Syndicate Avenue, Thunder Bay. A private family interment will occur at a later time. A tree will be planted in Adam's memory at Chippewa Park. Patrick, Jaclyn and Michael, his sister Lillian (Tony GATWARD) of Hobert, Tasmania and his longtime friend Mike WAITE. Predeceased by his brother Denis (2005) (Shirley) of Leicester, England. Arthur was a veteran of the British Merchant Navy. As per his wishes, Arthur has been cremated and a Private Family Service has taken place.
