It is with peace that the family announces the passing of Stuart GREENHAM. At his residence in London, surrounded by his loving family, the Lord called him home at the age of 78 on Sunday, February 27, 2005. Beloved husband of Vi, dedicated father of eldest son, Greg, daughter, Lori RICHARDSON and youngest deceased son, Gord. He will be fondly remembered by Rosanne REDA and son-in-law, Mark RICHARDSON. His three grandchildren, Caitlin LANGLOIS, Kristen RICHARDSON and Jordan RICHARDSON will miss him immensely. Predeceased by his only brother, George. He is survived by his supportive sister-in-law, Maxine GARDIN, now married to Sebastian, and his six wonderful nephews and one dear niece.
Stuart served in the Canadian Navy during World War 2 and, following the war, committed himself to serving the public in the life insurance business for many years. Visitation is to be held on Wednesday, March 2nd at 2: 30 p.m. at Westmount Presbyterian Church, 521 Village Green Ave., in London. Following the visitation, a service at the church celebrating Stuart's life will commence at 3: 30 p.m. Blessings and sincere thanks to all the deserving doctors, nurses, support staff and kidney dialysis team for such exceptional care over the past two years. Betty Jane (B.J.) THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON passed away peacefully at home in Don Mills, Ontario on April 15, 2005 with her family at her side. She will be sadly missed by her daughters Sandi THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON and Nancy THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON of Toronto and her son David THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON, his wife Lia and granddaughters, Skye and Jamie all of Calgary. Also grieving is her sister Mary (Bunny) WILKINSON- GREENBERG, Bob her husband, and their son Tim Scott (Carry) and his family all of Jackson, New Hampshire. B.J. was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Binnie THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON in 1992. B.J. was born in Toronto on October 29, 1919. Her parents were Bertram Reuben GARDINER, D.D.S., L.D.S. and Mary Livingston GARDINER, D.D.S. (née NICHOLSON,) a remarkable woman who pioneered female dentistry in Canada. As a young girl, B.J. often entertained visitors with recitations from Wordsworth, Tennyson and Longfellow and by dancing the highland fling. B.J. flourished at Scarborough High School and went on to Victoria College at University of Toronto where she was the editor of the Varsity News and wrote for Wayne and Shuster. She married Ralph in 1941; he had graduated in engineering from University of Toronto in 1939 and went on to become an officer in the Canadian Army and served throughout World War 2. For a period during the war B.J. served in Halifax deciphering coded messages in letters from Allied prisoners of war. B.J. raised her family in Toronto and Montreal where she will be remembered as a loyal friend and enthusiastic participant in many activities and groups. She was a Big Sister and active in the University Women's Club and the Garden Club in Toronto. B.J. and Ralph's first love was the many idyllic summers spent with their cherished Friends at Pen Lake in Muskoka. B.J. was a keen golfer and competitive sailor. She was prominent at lake events and she delighted in visiting Friends in her beloved motorboat. She wanted it to be known that the many wonderful Friends she had the good fortune to meet in her life had been a great blessing to her. The family wishes to thank Dr. KENDAL and his team for their committed palliative care. Served in Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve 1940-46 Lieutenant- Commander. Retired Vice-Chairman Royal Bank of Canada. Past Chairman Aon Reed Stenhouse Canada. Served on the boards of several major Canadian companies. National President Boys and Girls Clubs Canada. His kindness and generosity will be remembered by all his family and Friends. Died peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at Mount Sinai Hospital after a brief illness in her 95th year. Born in McKillop Township, Huron County on May 29, 1911. Predeceased by her parents Peter B. and Mary (née HACKWELL) GARDINER and twin brothers Alexander and William. Vera graduated from Seaforth High School and she attended Victoria University after which she was employed by the Ministry of Transportation and Communication for 38 years. Vera was a long time member of Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, where she was a member of the Senior Choir, the Business and Professional Women's Group, the MacLennan Group and she was Junior Choir Mother and the Church Archivist. Vera was also a member of the Soroptomist Club, English Speaking Union and she was a volunteer driver for the Canadian Red Cross for many years. Vera is survived by several cousins in Canada and the United States. Special▼ thanks to Dr. Vince BASILE and the nursing staff of Emergency and 17 South of Mount Sinai Hospital and the nursing staff at Village Park Retirement Home. Veteran of World War 2 and the Korean conflict. Passed away peacefully at Lakeland Village, Lindsay, on Saturday, October 9th, 2005 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Gwendolyn PEEBLES (1997.) Loving father of the late Carol GARDINER (2003.) Much loved grandfather of Suzanne GARRETT (Jeff) and Michele DONALD (Greg). Great-grandfather of Mark, Renee, Kenny, Megan, Liam, Tyler and Amy. Survived by his brother Ken (Barb) and sister-in-law Shirley. Predeceased by his brother Stan. Les will be missed by his many relatives and Friends. GARDINER, Vera▲ May▲
Died peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at Mount Sinai Hospital after a brief illness in her 95th year. Born in McKillop Township, Huron County on May 29, 1911. Predeceased by her parents Peter B. and Mary (née HACKWELL) GARDINER and twin brothers Alexander and William. Vera graduated from Seaforth High School and she attended Victoria University after which she was employed by the Ministry of Transportation and Communication for 38 years. Vera was a long time member of Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, where she was a member of the Senior Choir, the Business and Professional Women's Group, the MacLennan Group and she was Junior Choir Mother and the Church Archivist. Vera was also a member of the Soroptomist Club, English Speaking Union and she was a volunteer driver for the Canadian Red Cross for many years. Vera is survived by several cousins in Canada and the United States. Special▲ thanks to Dr. Vince BASILE and the nursing staff of Emergency and 17 South of Mount Sinai Hospital and the nursing staff at Village Park Retirement Home. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at 11 o'clock at Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, 230 St. Clair Avenue West. Cremation has taken place. Family burial of cremated remains will be held on May 29, 2006 at Brussels Cemetery. Former school secretary with the Toronto Board of Education. Passed away at her home in Sandycove Acres, Innisfil on Wednesday, December 21th, 2005. Irene in her 86th year was the beloved wife of the late Donald GARDINER. Loving Aunt▲ of 10 nieces and nephews. Dear great-aunt and great-grand-aunt to many. Irene is predeceased by her 7 brothers and sisters. Survived by her sister-in-law Nessie FINGARSON. Irene enjoyed a long healthy retirement in Sandycove Acres and will be missed by her many Friends.
