Driver who ran red light dies in crash; two injured

Peel Regional Police are deciding whether to press charges in
a crash that left one woman dead, severely injured her son and
another driver.
Around 2: 15 a.m. yesterday, police say, 42-year-old Aguero Mirtha
GALDO of Brampton ran a red light at Torbram Road approaching
the intersection of Bovaird Drive in Brampton. Ms.
GALDO's van
was hit by a Volkswagen Jetta.
Ms. GALDO, who was ejected from the van, was pronounced dead
at the scene. One of her three children was rushed to Sunnybrook
Hospital with serious injuries. The other two were taken to Peel
Memorial hospital and later released. The Jetta driver was also
taken to hospital, where she required spleen surgery.

It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Harry
Arnold GALE, known to everyone as 'Arnie'. With his loving wife
Elizabeth ((Bettenée)
ARNOLD) holding his hand and by his side
he left this world all too young at age sixty. He was born in
Winnipeg and was predeceased by his former wife Maggie, his mother
Muriel (Bobby) and father Harry (Doc). He leaves behind his sister
Melody and brother Mark, nephew Matthew and niece Natalie all
of Winnipeg, also a loving mom-in-law Jessie and brothers-in-law
Thom, Jim and Fred and their respective wives Gerda, Karen and
Jan, his best fishing partner nephew Dave and favourite niece
Lauren all of Whitby and nieces Michelle and Melanie of Barrie.
Arnie managed the local Zurich Insurance claims office until
it was closed and he then worked for Zurich in Toronto. He was
eagerly anticipating retirement with his adoring wife Bette when
the terrible scourge of cancer hit him in February. He fought
bravely but this time cancer won. Please please we must find
a cure for this hateful disease! Arnie also leaves behind many
wonderful Friends and his beloved cat Murray. He was a caring,
funny, generous and loving husband and man and the world is a
better place for him having been here. We never die when we live
in the hearts of those who love us, and love him we did, and
do. Mr. GALE will be resting at the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel

practiced private law in Montreal, then worked at Shawinigan
Water and Power Company. He was Vice President and Secretary
of the Royal Trust Company of Canada. In 1967, he moved to Toronto
as Vice President and General Manager of Victoria and Grey Trust
Company until his retirement. He later spent many years serving
as the Secretary/ Treasurer of The Canadian Club (Toronto). Active
member of the Glenview Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian
Church of Canada (as Elder, Treasurer, member of the Building
Society and director of the Canadian Bible Society); and the
Chartered Institute of Secretaries; a teacher of corporate law
and a governor of Sir George Williams University. Author of several
books, including Canadian Secretarial Practice, 'From Country
Trust to National Trust' (a history of the National Trust Company),
a history of the Canadian Clubs, and 'Who Said That?' (a compilation
of Empire Club speeches). Member of the Donalda Club (Toronto)
and the Hermitage Club (Magog, Quebec). He was also a musician
