Driver who ran red light dies in crash; two injured

Peel Regional Police are deciding whether to press charges in a crash that left one woman dead, severely injured her son and another driver.
Around 2: 15 a.m. yesterday, police say, 42-year-old Aguero Mirtha GALDO of Brampton ran a red light at Torbram Road approaching the intersection of Bovaird Drive in Brampton. Ms. GALDO's van was hit by a Volkswagen Jetta.
Ms. GALDO, who was ejected from the van, was pronounced dead at the scene. One of her three children was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital with serious injuries. The other two were taken to Peel Memorial hospital and later released. The Jetta driver was also taken to hospital, where she required spleen surgery.

With hearts saddened by loss but overflowing with beautiful memories, the family of Doris Jean McNAUGHTON announces her peaceful passing at Saint Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, March 24, 2005. Born in Belmont, Ontario May 31, 1922, Doris resided near Lawrence Station until 1977 and since then in Saint Thomas. Supportive and loving mother of Ann CARR, Sarnia, and Jeannie (David GALE,) Oakville; proud grandmother of Shauna CARR, Sarnia, Heather CARR, Toronto, and Katie GALE, Oakville. Doris was predeceased by best friend and husband of 53 years, John McNAUGHTON (Nov. 1998,) sister Lois OLDHAM (2002,) parents Andrew (1951) and Elsie (1986) IMLAY, and son-in-law Keith CARR (1982.) The last of the ADAM/ADAMS twins and long time employee of Hobart Canada - Kitchen-Aid Division passed away at Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Sciences Centre on June 30, 2005, in her 73rd year, after a valiant and painful struggle. Evelyn was the daughter of the late Thomas ADAM/ADAMS and the late Effie Jean BROWN. She was predeceased by her loving twin, Florence GALE, and former husband John Edward (Jack) CALLEN. She is survived by her husband John, and older sister Jean KIRBY. Evelyn was the mother of sons Guy and John CALLEN and daughter Lynn AVIDAN (Ron) as well as stepmother to Brenda BRUGOS, Karen WOOD and Sherri BLATT (Brian). She was a loving "Nanny" to Jessica, Tyler, T.J., Kyla Rose, Nicole, Jake, Bayley, Seth and a "Special Nanny" to Danielle and Julia GALE. GALE, Harry Arnold (April 1, 1945-September 9, 2005)
It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Harry Arnold GALE, known to everyone as 'Arnie'. With his loving wife Elizabeth ((Bettenée) ARNOLD) holding his hand and by his side he left this world all too young at age sixty. He was born in Winnipeg and was predeceased by his former wife Maggie, his mother Muriel (Bobby) and father Harry (Doc). He leaves behind his sister Melody and brother Mark, nephew Matthew and niece Natalie all of Winnipeg, also a loving mom-in-law Jessie and brothers-in-law Thom, Jim and Fred and their respective wives Gerda, Karen and Jan, his best fishing partner nephew Dave and favourite niece Lauren all of Whitby and nieces Michelle and Melanie of Barrie. Arnie managed the local Zurich Insurance claims office until it was closed and he then worked for Zurich in Toronto. He was eagerly anticipating retirement with his adoring wife Bette when the terrible scourge of cancer hit him in February. He fought bravely but this time cancer won. Please please we must find a cure for this hateful disease! Arnie also leaves behind many wonderful Friends and his beloved cat Murray. He was a caring, funny, generous and loving husband and man and the world is a better place for him having been here. We never die when we live in the hearts of those who love us, and love him we did, and do. Mr. GALE will be resting at the W.C. Anne WRIGHT passed away December 6, 2005 at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital, Cranbrook, British Columbia. She was born on February 5, 1912, in Toronto, Ontario, to Jonathan and Mary HAWKINS (née WARHURST.) Anne married Edward Alexander WRIGHT on March 28, 1942 at the Church of the Resurrection in Toronto. Anne is survived by her only son Kenneth Edward WRIGHT (Jaime née GALE) of Cranbrook, British Columbia, her grand_son Alexander Kenneth WRIGHT, who is a student at the College of the Rockies, two granddaughters Emmie GRAHAM (Steve) née Emiline Anne WRIGHT of Kingston, Nova Scotia, and their two daughters, Mackenzie Anne and Olivia Catherine, and Erin BRISSON (Richard) née Erin Catherine WRIGHT of Beaumont, Alberta and their two sons, Eric Rene and Carson Robert. Anne was predeceased by her parents Jonathan and Mary, and by her husband Edward. A short tribute honouring Anne's life will be incorporated in an Advent Communion Service at Joseph Creek Estates, 1901 Willowbrook Dr., Cranbrook, British Columbia, at 3: 00 p.m. Thursday, December 8th, 2005. Loving wife of the late Walter WOODS and predeceased by brothers Cecil, and Russell Fox, sister Verna STRATTO and son-in-law Bruce WRIGHT. Dear mother of Sharon (Ancaster) and special Grannie to Shayna and Emma. Sister to Hazel GALES and Vel HUNT of London, Ontario and Betty of Arizona. Survived by many nieces and nephews in London and surrounding areas. Edna was a long time and active member of Saint Mary's Anglican Church, Bartonville; Lifetime member of A.C.W.; Member of Anglican Business Women and Hamilton East P.C. She dedicated her life to others (behind the scenes activities) and was well known for her catering at the church, choir mother duties and alter guild. She was a extraordinary volunteer. Loving and supportive wife of the late Ladislav (Leslie) RADA (1977.) She will be sadly missed by her children Otto P. RADA (Margaret) of Toronto and Sonia RADA of Port Perry three loving grandchildren Steven, Mark and Melissa as well as many Friends in Canada and Slovakia. She was born in Slovakia on April 29th, 1916 to Jan HUDAK and Anna HUDAKOVA (SIPOSOVA,) both deceased. She will be lovingly remembered for her generosity by her surviving sister Margita GALGANKOVA (Ferdinand) and her brother Vojtech HUDAK (Libena - deceased) as well as her many nieces and nephews in Slovakia. Her endless generosity, kindness and charity will also be fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law Greta MARES (Eugene MARES - deceased) and Ann ROSENZWEIG (William ROSENZWEIG - deceased) as well as their children and grandchildren in the United States. Born in Chatham, Ontario on June 11th, 1916, the son of Russell Stanley and Alice Maude (STEVENS) MERIFIELD. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Helen (KYDD;) his children, Russell, Elizabeth (Dario GALINDO) and Thomas (Linda;) his grandchildren, Marion and Simon; his sister, Jeanne (Robin) BECK; his sister-in-law, Betty SHARPE; and many nieces and nephews. Graduate of McGill University B.A. (1938) and B.C.L. (1941), where he was President of the Student Society and played on the 1938 Championship Rugby Team. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War 2, Lieutenant, Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve. He initially practiced private law in Montreal, then worked at Shawinigan Water and Power Company. He was Vice President and Secretary of the Royal Trust Company of Canada. In 1967, he moved to Toronto as Vice President and General Manager of Victoria and Grey Trust Company until his retirement. He later spent many years serving as the Secretary/ Treasurer of The Canadian Club (Toronto). Active member of the Glenview Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Church of Canada (as Elder, Treasurer, member of the Building Society and director of the Canadian Bible Society); and the Chartered Institute of Secretaries; a teacher of corporate law and a governor of Sir George Williams University. Author of several books, including Canadian Secretarial Practice, 'From Country Trust to National Trust' (a history of the National Trust Company), a history of the Canadian Clubs, and 'Who Said That?' (a compilation of Empire Club speeches). Member of the Donalda Club (Toronto) and the Hermitage Club (Magog, Quebec). He was also a musician and long-time volunteer pianist for the veterans at Sunnybrook Hospital.
