Died peacefully at Riverside Glen Long Term Care in Guelph on Saturday, February 5, 2005. Predeceased by her first husband, Harold William MOGG, her second husband Rodman Perry FISHER, and her brothers Clair, Bob and Ross MARTIN. Loved Mother of David, Cheryl and Penny and their spouses Lindy MARCHUK, Brian FAYLE and Bill DOLAN. Beloved by grandchildren Peter (Stephanie,) Karen, Dave, Michele (Steve James) and their daughter Madeline Robert, Kyla and Patrick. Remembered fondly by the Fisher family. Betty lived her life in Galt (Cambridge) and was a lifelong member of Central Presbyterian Church. She took an active role in the social and volunteer life of the community serving on the board of the Young Women's Christian Association, chairperson of the United Way and was an honorary member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Betty was well known and loved for her smile, enjoyment of others and for sharing her enthusiam of life with family and Friends. The family will always cherish memories of times at her cottage on Georgian Bay where she also had a wonderful circle of Friends. Heartfelt thanks go to all the people who cared for Betty. Funeral service will be held at Central Presbyterian Church (Galt) on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at 2 p.m. A reception will follow at the Galt Country Club from 3-5. No flowers. Survived by his brother Eldon (Jean) TIMLIN of Cobourg, as well as their children Carol TIMLIN (Gilles CHARBONEAU), Don (Tammy) TIMLIN, Susan (John) DOLAN and their families. Also survived by his brother-in-law Stafford Quinlin (Barb MONK) of Cobourg. Passed away peacefully in Cambridge, Ontario, on March 23, 2005, in her 92nd year. She was predeceased by her parents Samuel DOLE and Louisa DOLE (née KAISER,) sisters Delphine and Dorothy and her beloved husband Judge Edward McLeod SHORTT. She leaves behind three devoted children; Samuel (Maria), James and Janet. She will be dearly missed by two grand_sons, Michael and Charles, her sister-in-law Mary and friend Barbara WEST.
Born and raised in Toronto, Willa was a graduate of the University of Toronto in Honours English and History and of the College of Education. She taught a Harbord Collegiate in Toronto and during the Second War was employed by the British Admiralty in Ottawa. She and her family relocated to London, Ontario where she taught at Sir. Adam Beck and London South Collegiates. She was a longtime member of the May Court Club in London and the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour with whom she exhibited on a number of occasions. In 1964, the family moved to Perth, Ontario where she continued to paint and became a noted antique collector. She played a leading role in founding both the Perth Day Care Centre and the Firehall Gallery and sat on the Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee. He was born in Guyana, came to Canada in 1969 and graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. She was predeceased by her husband Lee MALLORY and her brother Hubert DOLLAR and his wife Pat. She is survived by her former husband Albert P. OSBORNE, her daughter Ann Louise (OSBORNE) PEACOCK and her husband Paul of Lake Forest, California, Robin Elaine (OSBORNE) HALUS and her husband Dr. Steve HALUS of Florence, South Carolina. Ruth's six grandchildren; Gregory, Thomas and Joseph PEACOCK and Andrew, Paulina and Jack HALUS will miss their much loved "Nonnie". Upon his retirement he was appointed Secretary Emeritus of the Manitoba Law Society. He was Secretary Treasurer of the Conference of Governing Bodies of the Legal Profession in Canada, 1960-1972. Also was a Bencher of the Law Society of Manitoba, Lecturer at Manitoba Law School, President of the Manitoba Bar Association 1957-1958. Appointed to Queens Council in January 1953. He served in the Second World War with the Royal Canadian Air Force 1941 to 1945 as pilot and flying officer.
