Mrs. M.L. (Lil) BAGOT in Terrace, British Columbia, on Monday, December 20, 2004. Lil (Hope) BAGOT, in her 81st year, dear wife of the late M.D. (Denny) BAGOT. Dearly loved mother of Peggi McCLEARY and her husband Willie of Terrace, British Columbia, and the late Gregory BAGOT of Orangeville. Loved grandmother of Andrew and Alison McCLEARY. Also survived by her two sister, Edythe, and Dorothy, and a brother George, who live in Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Lil was predeceased by three sisters and a brother. Born in Yellow Grass. Saskatchewan, December 14, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John W. HOPE and Florence A. (DOBBYN) HOPE.
Lil moved to Saint Thomas in 1947, and was a Registered Nurse at the Memorial Hospital for a number of years. She then moved to the Saint Thomas Psychiatric Hospital, where she worked for 31 years, and became an Area Supervisor. She retiring in 1980. Cremation took place in British Columbia. A memorial service will be held at Central United Church, 135 Wellington Street. Saint Thomas, Monday, March 28th, 2005, at 11: 30 A.M. Interment will be made in Elmdale Memorial Park. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Memorial Fund at Central United Church would be appreciated by the family, and may be made through the R.E. Allen Funeral Chapel, Saint Thomas, Ontario.

Helen was a graduate of the Public General Hospital (Chatham) School of Nursing (1945) and worked as a registered nurse at the Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital, Petrolia, retiring in 1985 and then served on the board of trustees at the hospital for several years. Helen was predeceased by her husband Ken PARKER (1971.) Helen is survived by many Friends and in particular, Frank and Lynne RIEDL and family, Harry and Clara CURRAN and family, the late Jid and Doris SCOTT family and Marjory (HUDDLESTONE) and Clare BUTLER and family. Peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital in London, on January 31, 2005, in her 59th year. Loving wife and best friend for 40 years of Peter and dear mother of John of London. Sadly missed by sisters Catherine "Kay" DOBEC of Belleville, Joanne SMITH (Paul) of London, and brother Robert "Bob" (Christine) FISHER of Oakville. A long-time federal employee, Mary never saw obstacles, only opportunities. Her community economic development projects ranged from individual entrepreneurs to Chatham's ethanol-from-corn plant. Mary delighted in challenge, was an active, engaged citizen, and a mentor to many. We will miss her guidance and advice. Thanks to those who provided comfort and care during the course of Mary's illness and touched her life in such special ways. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service and celebration will be Wednesday February 9 at 3 pm at Chaucer's Pub, 122 Carling Street, London. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses.

Mum died peacefully on Sunday, May 1st, 2005, at her home in Mansonville, Quebec with her 4 children and her much loved dog Bianca with her. Janet was the beloved wife of the late Chip DRURY, sister to Alfred DOBELL, and loving mother to Sally (McDOUGALL,) Chip, Penny (BALLEM,) Pansy (GAUDREAU,) and Reid. Her grandchildren Todd, John, Reid, Peter, Kate, Alexandra, Jack, Kyrke, Taylor, Kevin, and Baye were devoted to their Jaja and she was sorry not to have more time with her much awaited great-grandchildren Ben and Jane. Jaja was a force to be reckoned with and we all worked hard to keep up with her. She enjoyed many Friends, young and old, and was a tireless volunteer and a generous supporter of many different community organizations. She had a great run and we shall all miss her. In her last few weeks she received wonderful care from the palliative care team at the Mansonville centre local de services communautaires - their kindness was greatly appreciated by all of us.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 6th at St. George's Anglican Church, 1101 Stanley, Montreal, Quebec with a reception to follow at the University Club of Montreal, 2047 Mansfield.

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Peter READ, age 80 of Kelowna, formerly of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Dorval, Quebec. Peacefully surrounded by family, Peter slipped away on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at the Kelowna General Hospital, Kelowna, British Columbia. Peter is survived by his wife Jaye Lynn (GOULD,) formerly of Winnipeg; her mother and father, Ed and Betty of Winnipeg; sister Leslie POWELL and brother Ed. Lovingly remembered by his sons Michael (Ellen DRISCOLL) of New Haven, Prince Edward Island; Russel (Erin KERR) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; daughter Deborah FRAIPONT of Kelowna. Peter will be sadly missed by his sister Diana (Dee Dee) DOBESCH of Dorval, Quebec. Peter leaves behind 8 wonderful grandchildren including, Brodie, Geordon and Tyler (P.E.I.), R.J., Hope and Cara (N.C.) and Courtney and Spencer (Kelowna). Peter was predeceased by his parents, Russell Hope READ and Dorothy Mingay READ. Peter was born on March 19, 1925, a veteran of World War 2, Peter attended Westmont High School, McGill University and Sir George Williams College. He enjoyed a stellar career in the grain brokerage and shipping business with R.H. Read and Company representing Louis Dreyfus Corporation and Continental Grain Company in Montreal. In the early 1970's, Peter moved to Winnipeg, accepted a position heading up Boland and Cornelius representing Algoma Central Railway and Parrish and Heimbecker Inc. until 1987 when he founded North-West Marine Inc., continuing to represent the same two companies. After over 50 years of dedicated service, he retired as a leader in his field. Peter enjoyed sports very much as a very able athlete and coach in his earlier life, and as a spectator in his later life. He spent some time with the Montreal Alouettes of the 'Big Four' in the early 50's. Peter was a devoted Montreal Alouettes and Canadiens fan - forever. During the last decade Peter stared down many life threatening diseases and physical operations. After living in Winnipeg for over 30 years, Peter moved to Kelowna with his wife Jaye and his pal, 'Missy'. He enjoyed his home and his garden. Peter will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him. In memory of Peter donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Larry passed away with family and Friends by his side in Comox, British Columbia, engulfed in love. He was predeceased by an infant nephew, Scott, his grandparents, father-Jarvis, step-father Pete, and three uncles. Surviving and missing him tremendously already are his mother-Mary, brother-Wayne (Linda), wife-Debbie, his four "angels" (as he always referred to his daughters) Tami, (Brad) Schaefer, Jennifer (Scott) McKENNEY, Denice and Kim: a.k.a. "pig-pig" (Jeremie). Granddaughters-Jessica and Spencer and grand_son-Carter, nephew-David (Sandra), niece-Karen (Todd), great nieces-Emma & Allison, great nephew- Zack and mother-in-law Joan.
He was born in London, Ontario and raised on a dairy farm. From a very young age he loved playing hockey. For 40 years Larry was a dedicated and safe truck driver. In 1990 he moved his family to the Comox Valley and loved the mountains, ocean and all of nature's beauty the valley offers. Larry loved life and has always been a funloving, trustworthy man devoted to his family and well respected by all who knew him. His final words of love for his family, asking us to reach deep down inside to stay strong and to move on with life is so typically Larry.
Dad - you have been, by far, truly the most wonderful dad a girl could want. We love and respect you far more than words can say - from your four angels.
Hon, I am honored to have been your wife. We have shared so many of "life's experiences" together, and have stayed best Friends - from your "bride."
God, please give us the strength we need to carry on without this wonderful man on earth with us. Private cremation. Passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2005 at Toronto Hospital - General Division at the age of 72. Beloved husband of Ann. Loving Father of Kathy (Steve COXFORD.) Cherished Grandpa of Peter and Andrew, and a baby expected in the next week. "Les" was born in Hungary in 1933, son of Major Károly PÉTERFY and Dr. Margit DOBOZY, was predeceased by his younger brother Szabolcs and is survived by his sister Katalin who resides in Budapest. He began his engineering studies at the University of Sopron. He left Hungary at the time of the 1956 Revolution and shortly found his way to Canada. He finished his engineering degree at the University of Toronto and began a long career in the construction industry. Les enjoyed his family, the cottage, travelling, skiing, sailing, good food and a glass of wine. Friends may call on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). Police hunt shooter after woman killed

April Lynn DOBSON believed in living for today.
“She was the most happy-go-lucky person you would ever want to meet,” said DOBSON's roommate Kelly KING. “She always said, ‘Life is too short, enjoy it while you can.' I can't for the life of me think of why anyone in this world would want to hurt her.&rdquo
DOBSON was shot to death early Friday on the front porch of a Browning Trail home.
Neighbours were jarred awake by the sound of a gunshot at about 12: 30 a.m. and seconds later found DOBSON, 40, of Barrie, on her back, bleeding to death.
Police are looking for a male, 15 to 18 years old who was seen by one witness racing from the scene on a brown mountain bike.
“He is a person of serious interest,” said Barrie Police Sgt. Dave GOODBRAND as he stood on the street, which was blocked off with yellow tape while police officers climbed on rooftops and combed the area for clues.
“We do believe this was not a random shooting and the public is not in danger,” he said.
A witness, who asked not to be named, said he saw the teen get off of his bike, cut across the yard to where the woman was.
“Then I heard a gunshot and I saw him get on his bike and take off,” he said.
Police say they don't know if the teen was the shooter or a witness to the shooting. One neighbour who tried to revive the woman said he jolted out of bed when he heard the shot. “We wanted to keep her alive, but her eyes were wide open. She had that dead look and we gave up.&rdquo
DOBSON worked as a waitress, but was off with a knee injury.
“She loved to be the life of the party -- she would tell the same old jokes,” said KING with a gentle laugh.
“This just doesn't make sense.&rdquo

Peacefully on September 5, 2005. Born in Montreal in 1916. Survived by his beloved wife, Peggy and children, Ted (Noreen) of Toronto, Donald of Shelburne, Christopher of Oakville, and Margaret of Shelburne. Grandchildren include Ryan, Tamara, David, and Katherine. A graduate of Queen's engineering faculty, Don enjoyed a lifelong interest in mining and metallurgy. He had a creative flair and as part of a team developed several patented processes. He enjoyed travelling the world and applying new learning to complex challenges. He was recognized by the mining industry for achievement. While engineering was his vocation, his passion was sailing. He competed in the 1952 Olympics. He was at various life stages a member of the Royal St. Lawrence, Royal Hamilton, and Royal Canadian Yacht Club. He was a commodore of the Oakville Y S. and. was awarded a lifetime membership. He also embraced the rigours and pleasures of rural life. He was an enthusiastic farm owner in the rolling hills of Mulmer Township. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the excellent care and support of Dr. DOBSON and the nursing staff at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Robert (Bob) DOBSON, at Trillium Mississauga Hospital on Sunday, September 25th, 2005, in his 75th year. His memory will be cherished by Mary, his loving wife, best friend and companion of 55 years, his devoted sons William (Sandrine) DOBSON and Andrew DOBSON, his beloved granddaughters Kassaundra and Zoe Emma DOBSON. Brother to Thomas (Wilma) DOBSON and twin brother William (Donna) DOBSON, and the late Gordon (Elva) DOBSON and the late Edgar (Marion) DOBSON. Dear brother-in-law of Norma ROSS (and the late Douglas ROSS,) Iris HAWE (and the late Andrew HAWE,) Sidney HAWE (and the late Ethel,) the late Jack and Phyllis HAWE, and the late William and Ruth HAWE. Bob will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their children. He was revered and will be greatly missed by his many Friends, neighbours, and associates. Bob was born in Hamilton, Ontario and raised in Dundas, Ontario. Bob started his working career at Avro Aircraft Co. in Malton and was proud to be involved with the Avro Arrow Project. When Avro closed down in 1959, he went on to Massy Ferguson in Toronto where he was involved in implementing a profit planning system; then he joined the Toronto-Dominion Bank to complete the similar system for the Toronto-Dominion Bank. When he was with the Toronto-Dominion Bank he served on the board of the March of Dimes for several years. He acquired his private pilots license in 1970 and as a skilled pilot, his passion for flying and aerobatics was reflected in his continued involvements as treasurer and past president of the Brampton Flying Club. Bob was also past president of Air Transport of Canada, The Canadian Flying Club Association. Upon retiring from the Toronto-Dominion Bank as Vice President of Financial and Business Planning Department, he became a school trustee for the Board of Education of Etobicoke for three years. He was an active board member and past president of the Etobicoke Chamber of Commerce; and by Order in Council he served 3 years on the Toronto District Health Council; he served 6 years on the Council of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario; where he was instrumental in securing funds for their program for testing preschool children. Bob was an active member of the Markland Wood Country Club and was their president in 1992. Among other volunteer work he spent two terms working in Prague of the Czech Republic implementing a branch profit reporting system for one of their major banks. In April 2002 Bob was proud to be a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Award for his exemplary volunteer services. Bob mentored trained and advised clients of the federally funded Self Employment Assistance program, guiding over 175 new business entrepreneurs towards successful business ventures. Bob was an Elder and Sunday school teacher at Graceview Presbyterian Church for over 40 years. His love of music exhibited itself with his participation in the Etobicoke Community Concert Band as a saxophone soloist and also was the bands President; he also played in the Etobicoke Swing Orchestra, the Swansea Band and the Mississauga Swing Orchestra. Beloved wife of the late Ernest Ellis BURGESS, and predeceased by her dearly loved brother and sister, Alex DOBSON and Thelma KEYES and her precious grand_son Kenneth. Passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 3, 2005 at the Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Sciences Centre in Toronto. A proud, retired member of I.A.T.S.E. Local 173, devoted father and friend, he is survived by his wife, Elsie (GOULD) NEAL; daughters Cathy, Bonnie and husband Rex VEINOT, Kim and husband Dave DOBSON; stepchildren Wendy VETTER and Paul WILSON; sister Doris (NEAL) THOMPSON/THOMSON/TOMPSON/TOMSON; brothers Don and his wife Laurene, Len and his wife Sheila; grandchildren Venessa and Ryan VEINOT, Andrew DOBSON and Kevin WEAVER; plus several nieces and nephews. At his request, Jim was cremated and interred directly. The family wishes to thank the caring medical staff of the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Sunnybrook.
