Man Dies in Crash
An Owen Sound man who failed to report for his scheduled work
shift was found deceased in his car northeast of Jackson late
in the afternoon of June 25.
Information thus far in the investigation indicates that David
RIELLY, 41 years, of Owen Sound, left a stag party west of Owen
Sound near Jackson alone at about 10 p.m. on June 24. When he
did not report for work at McArthur Tire Service in Owen Sound
there was concern about his whereabouts. Just before 5 p.m. an
acquaintance looking in the area located faint evidence of a
vehicle leaving the roadway where the A Line changes direction
90 degrees to the north to become Side Road 15 in the Keppel
area of Georgian Bluffs. Upon further investigation he located
Mr. RIELLY deceased in a green 1996 Mercury Marquis, which struck
trees after leaving the road. The car was down an embankment
and not visible from the roadway.
It is clear that the car was eastbound on the A Line prior to
leaving the roadway, however few other details, including the
exact time the crash occurred, are clear at this time. Constable
Chuck DICKEY of Grey County O.P.P. is the investigating officer.
