Peacefully at the Exeter Villa, on Sunday, February 13, 2005, Gladys (DEW) SIMS, formerly of Hurondale, in her 100th year. Dear wife of the late William (Bill) SIMS (1959.) Beloved mother of Audrey BENTLEY, and Evan and Edna SIMS, all of Exeter. Predeceased by a daughter Labelle SCHMETZER (2004) of Kitchener. Dearly loved by her grandchildren, Katherine BENTLEY of Exeter; Lori SIMS and her husband, Paul D'AUVERGNE of Oakville, Jane SIMS and her husband, Chris HARVEY of London and Bob SIMS of Exeter and his girlfriend, Brenda SIEMON of Dublin. Also survived by ten great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Glad was also predeceased by her sister, Myra (1996) and her husband, Clarence HEYWOOD (1976;) her sons-in-law, Mervin SCHMETZER (1995) and Walter BENTLEY (2001;) her grandchildren, John SCHMETZER (1994,) Marion (BENTLEY) CARTER (2002,) and Steven SIMS (2002;) and great granddaughter, Tina REBELOS (1999.)
Born Gladsy Alice DEW in Usborne Township, on September 4, 1905, Glad lived for almost a century, always in the Exeter area. She loved gardening, quilt making, sewing and above everything else, her family. She was a long time member of the Hurondale Women's Institute and a faithful member of Trivitt Memorial Anglican Church. She remained strongly independent well into her 90s. His devoted wife Gloria, daughters Mariel, Lisa, Wendy and Debbie, grandchildren, and his beloved dog Annabelle, wish to share with you his sudden yet peaceful passing in San Francisco, Saturday, June 11th, 2005. Born in 1928, Stani was the youngest son of Della Agnes DEWAR and Sydney Joseph STANIFORTH, founder of Staniforth Lumber and Veneer, and brother to Harold, Dorothy, Donald and Joan. He is survived by his wife Gloria STANIFORTH of Green Cove Springs, Florida; his sister Joan Staniforth BONNETT of Wolfville, Nova Scotia; daughters Mariel Staniforth KINGSLEY of San Francisco, California and Lisa Staniforth GOURDON of Versailles, France.
A memorial service will be held in Montreal on Wednesday, August 10th, 2005, the date of Stani's 77th birthday, at 2: 00 p.m., St. Andrews Dominion Douglas Church, 687 Roslyn Avenue-The Boulevard, Westmount, followed by a reception in his honour.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Leon Joseph KEDZIERSKI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2005 in the arms of his beloved wife and best friend Dee (Dorothea) with his loving daughters Andrea and Leann by his side. Leon is predeceased by his father Joseph, April 23, 1990, his mother Maria, June 30, 2002 and his infant brother, 1940 in Poland. Leon is survived by his in-laws Fred and Marion DEWBURY, 2 brothers-in-law, 3 sisters-in-law and their spouses. Leon is an uncle to several nieces and nephews, a Godfather to 4 Goddaughters and "Mr. Leon" to many children cared for in his home. Craig was an accomplished businessman in the steel industry where his driving energy, self confidence and work ethic propelled him into VP positions at JADDCO and Kvaerner Construction Ltd. Craig lived life to the fullest during his short span of retirement and will be remembered for his endless planning, eternal optimism and his generosity to his family and Friends. Dear father of Roger GRIFFIN and Stanley GRIFFIN of Toronto, and the late Glen (2000) and his wife Pat GRIFFIN of Cottam. Beloved grandfather of Carly and Katie. Also survived by a sister Beulah LEFEVRE of Leamington, and a sister-in-law Evelyn GRIFFIN of Cottam. Ivan was born and raised on the very same farmland that is known as 'Home' to the Griffin Family today. Along with his wife and children, farming became a way of life that he enjoyed very much. He was a member of the Albuna United Church and most recently Cottam United Church. He was a member of the O.F.A., the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge, and the Leamington-Mersea Historical Society. Ivan could be found at the Pleasant Valley Community Center enjoying a game of cards with Friends or ten pin bowling at the Thunder Bowl in North Ridge. DISLEY, Elizabeth Johanna (née DEWIT)
After a lengthy illness, Elizabeth Johanna DISLEY went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, June 18, 2005. Born March 17, 1962, she is the beloved wife of John DISLEY and loving mother of Emily, Graeme and Hannah DISLEY. She is the daughter of Pieter and the late Sientje DEWIT of Dorchester. Beloved sister of Gerry and Nell DEWIT of Dorchester, Frank and Liz DEWIT of Thamesford, Anne and Henry BOOY of Wyoming and Dick and Elizabeth DEWIT of Ethel. Predeceased by sister Rita DEWIT, she is the loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed by her many colleagues at London Health Sciences Centre and her many Friends. Friends may call on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the James A. Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond, London. The funeral service will be conducted at North Park Community Church, 1510 Fanshawe Park Road East, London, on Tuesday, June 21 at 2: 30 p.m. Interment at Siloam Cemetery. Passed away, on July 13, 2005, at the Centenary Hospital, with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Gordon and long time companion of Tony ROBASCO. Loving mother of Cora-Lee BUGDEN. Cherished nana of Cathy (John DEWIT,) Jeff (Vanessa BUGDEN,) and great-grandmother of Jesse, Lukas and James. Dear sister of Basil and Lucy, predeceased by her sisters Bessie and Frances.
