A resident of Chatham, Mary (GLAS) HAZENBERG, died peacefully at Victoria Residence, Chatham. She went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 8, 2005 at the age of 83. Born in Holland, daughter of the late Hendrik and Geertje (WAGENAAR) GLAS. Loving mother of Trudy RAES and her companion Clarence RYLETT of Chatham and Leonard HAZENBERG and his wife Sylvia of London. Beloved Oma of Ryan, Rena, Vanessa, Colin, Matthew, Jordan, Nicholas and Joshua. Great-grandmother of Cody, Chasitie, Triston and Briana. Sister of Geer DEGROOT and Trien and Marten ZWAAN all of the Netherlands. Sister-in-law of Truus WAGENAAR; Ina HAZENBERG all of the Netherlands, Anie and George DERUITER, Chatham, Co and Markus KRYGER, British Columbia. Predeceased by three brothers, one sister and four brothers-in-law. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mary came to Canada in 1952 taking up residence in Orangeville and later Acton and then to Chatham. She was a member of Grace Christian Reformed Church and the Ladies Society of the Church. Dear father of Ronald DERUSH, Richard (Susan) DERUSH and Cheryl (Dan) MOORE, all of Sarnia. Brother of Peter SKUCE of London. Much loved grandfather "Gramps" to Jennifer, Robert, Kevin and Mark. Special uncle of Allen, Mary Ellen and Karen. Al will be sadly missed by many Friends and his beloved dog and walking companion Bailey. Suddenly in Sarnia on Saturday, December 17, 2005 Betty Lorraine TOULOUSE of Sarnia. Beloved mother of Lorraine DERUSH (Jim CAMPBELL,) Leslie (Richard HELBIN,) Jane (Bob RIDENOUR) and Bud (Rhonda McPHAIL.) Loving grandmother of Lauren, Vicki, Lisa, David, Meghan and great-grandmother to Cody and Kali. She will be missed by her extended family Sharon, Cindy, Shirley, Sandra, Brenda and Tim. Predeceased by her husband, Maurice TOULOUSE, and her dear friend Pius GUITARD. A great friend to Del, Diane and countless others from her time at Pinehurst, Paradise Valley and Green Haven parks, "Betty Boop" and the love of her life Megan the Cat at her side, touched all that met her with her humour, kindness and warmth. An independent woman with a zest for all that life presented, Betty will be missed by all those who were blessed to have known her. Born and raised in London, Ontario, Betty is predeceased by her brothers Bob, Edward and Murray McCOMB. With dignity and courage after a valiant battle with cancer, E.J. passed away at her home surrounded by her family. Eleanor's life modelled selflessness and love. She had a deep empathy for all and her wisdom and kindness profoundly touched her many Friends and family. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her husband Carlton, her daughters Susan and Rosemary, her grandchildren Thomas and Hailey, her brothers Andrew, Michael and Stanley, and her many relatives and Friends.
