On Thursday, August 18, 2005. After a courageous battle with cancer. Theodorus (Ted) VAN EYK of Strathroy in his 73rd year. Ted was born in the Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1952. He farmed in Lambton County until retirement in 1976. He will be missed by his children John and Mary Elizabeth VAN EYK, Marianne▼ and Frank KENNES, Sue▼ VAN EYK and their mother Anne. He was Opa to Derek and Darren VAN EYK, Jeff▼ and Ben KENNES. Ted is survived by 7 brothers and sisters in the Netherlands and brothers Bill in Watford and Harry in British Columbia and many nieces and nephews. Ted is predeceased by a grand_son Eric VAN EYK (1992,) brother Matthew and sister Nellie in the Netherlands. On November 29, 2005 my cherished and beloved husband Bob (Bobby) left us for a Higher Order. We lived a full and happy, but shortened, life together. His suffering was brief. Bob was born in New Jersey on the 24th of May, 1946, the son of Angelo and Genevieve DEMARCO who live in Florida. He is also survived by his sisters, Marjorie and Genevieve; nephews Joe, Matt, Dan; niece Lisa; and several great nephews and nieces. Bob spent more than twenty-five years as a valued member of the reinsurance industry. He is remembered by his colleagues, not only as an extremely knowledgeable associate, but more so as a kind, generous and happy fellow. Erich was born in Germany to August and Marie (MAYER) ZILLIGES. He immigrated to Canada with his family in the early 50's, and worked as a mason in Sarnia most of his life. Erich and Friedhilde retired to the home they built at Colpoy's Bay. Their last years were spent near family in the Sarnia area. We continue to treasure the wonderful memories we all share. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. Cremation to follow. 83, died peacefully in Minto, New Brunswick, July 30, 2005.
Born in rural Saskatchewan, he was challenged early by polio, later by Alzheimers. Undaunted, he pursued his education (B.Sc., Mount Allison University; B.D., Pine Hill Divinity College; M.Th., University of Toronto; Honorary Doctor of Divinity, Huron College of the Anglican Church). He served God and others in a life of selfless devotion as a United Church Minister (pastorates in the Nashawaak, Stanley, Minto, New Brunswick; New Glasgow, Nova Scotia), as General Secretary of the Student Christian Movement of Canada, Associate Secretary of the Board of Colleges of the United Church of Canada and President of Maritime Conference. He worked with the Moravian Church in Jamaica, and ran in a Federal By-election, representing the New Democratic Party in 1983.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Edna (WARD,) 4 children, Peter (Jean BURGESS), Taymouth, New Brunswick, John, P.E.I., Barbara, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Helen (Maury MILOFF), Bangladesh, 12 grandchildren, his sister Helen BLOCK (Peter,) Toronto, his brother Gordon (Delma), Saskatchewan.
He was predeceased by his parents Grace (TUTTLE) and Peter DEMARSH, his sister Kathleen, his brother Kent.

Born September 16, 1937 in Montreal. Died February 3, 2005, North York, after a four month illness. Retired Partner Grant Thornton LLP
Longstanding active and contributing member of the Kiwanis Clubs of Toronto and Montreal.
Only child of Edgar John (Jack) and Gertrude Irene (née LOVETT) who predeceased him by some years.
John was educated in Montreal and practiced there as a C.A. for two decades before moving to Toronto in 1983. He was noted for his technical expertise in assurance and a passion for working with companies in the mines and minerals sector. He loved mentoring junior members of the accounting profession and cultivating their skills. In retirement he found a new professional niche in chairing an audit committee for a public company and remained engrossed in this work throughout his illness.
He gave back to the community as a Kiwanian, as Treasurer of the Toronto Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club and as Treasurer of his Condo Board where he is remembered for his gruffly delivered wit, Friendship and sense of humour.
Leaves to mourn, his partner in life, Andrea DEMCHUK and her son Severn MOZER who wish they'd had much more time with John. He was a quick study as step-father, knowing how to make life fun while providing much-appreciated guidance. For years to come, episodes of Star Trek and JAG will bring tears to our eyes, as will CNN, British Broadcasting Corporation world, takeout pizza and trips to Radio Shack, Canadian Tire and Costco. Nobody could talk things through like John. He brought meaning to life.
First cousin Marilyn YOUNG and her grown daughter (and John's much beloved Goddaughter) Lindsey YOUNG of Leaside.
Former wife Janice Morrison RIEHL of Houston, Texas and her husband Bernard. And too numerous to list here, all of John's wonderful Friends from his business and community work who took the time to call, or drop by the hospital or the local Keg. Andrea is especially grateful to all of you and to her Friends and family.
And John wanted all of the health professionals who provided care these past months to know how very highly he valued their work.

At his home in Mississauga on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 in his 63rd year. Surrounded by his loving family, Gene went Home; having faced his illness with great courage and dignity. Born on February 2, 1942 in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, the eldest son of the late Charles and Elizabeth HAWKINS of Pennfield, New Brunswick. Gene leaves his loving wife and best friend of 37 years, Diana (née LEE,) daughter Jennifer CLARKE of Mississauga and son Gregory of Ottawa; son-in-law Derek CLARKE, grand_son Connor, daughter-in-law Michelle and grand_sons Alexandre and David of Ottawa; brother Stephen D. HAWKINS of Glens Falls, New York nieces Janet LAUDY and (Mark) of San Francisco, California and Julie HAWKINS of Saratoga Springs, New York, dearest Friends Linda and Paul DESLAURIERS, Burlington, Vermont; sister-in-law Joanna and the late Donald S. HOGAN of Halifax, Nova Scotia, and nieces Stephanie HO and (Lawrence) of Hong Kong, Deirdre HOGAN, Toronto, and Christie Pratt and (Mark) of Sacramento, California; brother-in-law John S. LEE and Karen of Mississauga and niece Gillian DEMELO and (Victor) of Hong Kong and nephew Robert S. LEE and (Julie) of Ottawa, Ontario. For 33 years Gene served with distinction in the Canadian Military Engineering Corp. in various Canadian locations and in Germany. Upon leaving the military in 1992, Gene joined the City of Mississauga as Manager of Facility Services, retiring in 1997 to spend more time at his beloved summer home on Kennisis Lake, Haliburton, Ontario. His wisdom, generous spirit and delightful sense of humour will be sadly missed by all his family and many Friends. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and thanks for the caring and compassionate support of Dr. David CLARKSON and the team of Doctors and Staff at the Credit Valley Oncology Department. Friends will be received at the Neweduk Funeral Home - "Mississauga Chapel", 1981 Dundas St. W. (1 block east of Erin Mills Parkway), on Saturday, March 19, 2005 from 10-11 a.m. The family will celebrate Gene's life at a Memorial Service to be held on March 19, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the Carlo Fidani Peel Regional Cancer Centre at Credit Valley Hospital or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
