DELLAI, Dedena (née MORELLO) (June 16, 1907-May 19, 2005)
To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die. Dedena lived a long wonderfully adventurous life. Sshe began singing with the Rosslino Opera Co. in the 1940's as well as acting. Her career on radio started with CHUM, then in Hamilton, followed with Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Television on Wojak, with John Vernon. In her 85th year Dedena worked for various provincial courts as an interpreter. She learned to drive near age 63; after a car repair, officers would warn each other "watch out guys, Ma's on the road again." So many talented and dedicated people shared her days. Dedena enjoyed a loving working and social relationship with her dear friend Ontario SARRICINI. They shared hard work and humour, and I'm afraid pranks on and off radio were sometimes the order of the day. A Friendship that tugs at the heart as the memories linger, she will always be remembered with fondness by Ontario and his wife Anna, and their children Christina and Anthony. Predeceased by her dear husband Giovanni, precious daughter Maria, son John, deeply loved sister Pierina, brothers Aldo and Ezio. Dedena leaves her adored broken-hearted family, daughter Joan, darling grandchildren Leah, Christina, Andrea, John and Tom. She dearly loved her David (Barba Rosa) Gordon and son-in-law Paul. Great-grandmother to dear Tarra, Alex, Michael and the late Barbara. Dedena's true and deep love for her sister Ida FAZZARI was unfailing in its devotion; she held her close to her heart to keep always and forever, "Ia vita mia legato a te." She purely loved her nephews and nieces, dearest Maria, Ida, "picola" Lucille, Les, Joanne, Naldie, and the late Lolita and Anne. Her babies Nikki and Clementine were a constant joy for her, as well as little Coco who screeches "Ma" all day. Many thanks to St. Elizabeth's staff, and their caregivers Ida and Elizabeth, with special love to dear Shirley and Nadine, whose loyalty and skill were exceptional. Thanks to dear nurse Renata, and loved nurse Ganine JACKS, for their constant skill and devotion, "bella, non te scordar di me." In lieu of flowers, a prayer for families listed here today and for those who have loved ones in hospitals would be appreciated. Cremation. A celebration of Dedena's life will take place this summer. Sleep warm darling mother. Gather a star for each of us and their light shall show the strength in what remains behind.

BLAKE, Beatrice May
At the age of 95 and in complete peace, May BLAKE passed away on October 19, 2005. May was care-giver extraordinaire to many children who remember her fondly and with love throughout their adulthood. She was trained as a nanny in England and joined her first family as a caregiver as a young teenager, no older than 15. She emigrated to Canada about 1932. Throughout her early years as a nanny in Canada, May befriended and looked out for other British nannies who would come to Toronto on two-year visas to care for the children of Canadian families. May brought them into the community of other nannies, made sure that they became acquainted with Toronto and sent them home again at the end of two years with farewell parties.
The adults for whom she cared as children and that she called "her charges" owe their values of honesty, integrity, generosity towards others and good humour to her teachings as they grew from infancy through childhood into eventual maturity. May was always proud of the achievements of "her charges" and followed their successes in life, sending congratulations their way and still providing advice as they made their path through life.
May has been a staunch supporter of Saint Margaret's Anglican Church for more than 70 years. Up until two years ago, she was a regular supporter of Saint Margaret's annual Christmas bazaar and rummage sales. She was a frequent visitor to the sick and shut-ins of her congregation. May BLAKE's life was a happy and fulfilled one.
May will be fondly remembered by her many Friends at her Church, including Muriel CAESAR, Len and Jean SOUTH, Trevor and Muriel McCONNELL and Jean FRASER.
She will also be lovingly remembered by "her charges" currently living in Canada, Edward BULMAN and his sister Elizabeth, Nadine, Jon and Paul LEVIN, Sean and Kalen McCOWAN, Denise DELLIO, and Alexandra and Laura ROBINSON. Jean SHAWN, George LEVIN, Anna JOHNSTON (formerly McCOWAN), Perry and Rae DELLIO, Michael ROBINSON and Dr. Gail ROBINSON, and all remember the fine and loving care May BLAKE provided for their children and the tremendous contribution she made to their family life.
Those who wish to celebrate May BLAKE's life may join together at Saint Margaret's Anglican Church, 53 Burnaby Boulevard, Toronto on Monday, October 24, 2005 at 1 p.m. May loved children all of her life and donations in her memory to Save the Children Canada, 300-4141 Yonge Street, Toronto M2P 2A8, would be greatly appreciated.

Two found dead near Cornwall
Canadian Press
Cornwall, Ontario -- The discovery of two bodies over the weekend near Cornwall is being treated as a double homicide.
The bodies of Peter and Jade BENEDICT, aged 31 and 27, were found Saturday morning by a customer in the front yard of an auto shop in West St. Andrews, a village about 10 kilometres north of Cornwall.
In a news release, police called the deaths "suspicious," but gave no details on the conditions of the bodies or information on possible suspects.
An autopsy was to be conducted to determine the cause of death.
The two men were from the Akwesasne Mohawk Territory, which straddles the borders of Quebec, Ontario and the United States.
Officers were also called after a motorist discovered a beaten and bloodied man who crawled out of an abandoned farmhouse around 8 a.m. Saturday.
Police would not comment on any possible connection between the beating and the discovery of the bodies.
The garage where the bodies were found was run by a man who also lived next door to the abandoned farmhouse where the beaten man was found.
The beating victim was in hospital as of Saturday night, but his condition was not released.
Ontario Provincial Police were investigating the farmhouse, which is out of the jurisdiction of Cornwall police.
Residents near the garage where the bodies were found said they heard blasts that sounded like gunshots.
Pat and Raymond DELORMES were relaxing with Friends on their porch when they heard what sounded like three shots just after midnight.
"It was loud, man, it was like a stick of dynamite," Pat DELORMES told the Ottawa Citizen Saturday.
"I was a hunter for 25 years. I know the difference between a shotgun, a rifle, a.32 special, whatever. It was shots we heard last night."
