"Jack" READY (1985.) Dear sister-in-law of Margaret DAYNARD of Seaforth and is sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Born in Allenford, Ontario. 97 yrs ago, daughter of the late Havelock DANARD and the former Irene ORSER. Predeceased by 3 sisters Vida DANARD, Eleanor ALDERSON, Anne DANARD and 3 brothers Reverend Nathan DAYNARD, Rev. Bert DAYNARD and Harry DANARD and 2 sisters-in-law Laura DAYNARD and Irma DANARD. The late Ruth READY will rest at the L.A. Ball Funeral Chapel, 7 Water St. N., Saint Marys on Thursday 7-9 p.m. and on Friday December 16/2005 from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Irene RICHARDSON officiating. BRACKENBURY, Paul Chute
Paul Chute, 69, of Aylmer, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 14, 2005 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Shirley, and his four children, Jeff and wife Margaret of Whitehorse; Denise MUELLER and husband Rick of London; Shaun of London, and Susan BRUNELLE and husband Paul of Aylmer. He also leaves his grandchildren, Julie, Lance and Shaun BRACKENBURY, Sara, Alyssia and Ryan MUELLER and Scott, Trent and Joshua BRUNELLE. Paul is survived by his sister, Dorothy WILSON of Tillsonburg; Betty SCHERER of Tennessee; Barbara CLARKE of Burlington; Mary and Keith DANBROOK of Tillsonburg; Lois and George TAILOR/TAYLOR of Ottawa; Gloria and Paul GIBSON of Hamilton Diana ANDERSON and Bernie HOLDEN of Vienna and Irene BRACKENBURY and Bill VANDENEEKHOUT of Tillsonburg. He is also survived by an aunt, Ruby BRACKENBURY, of Aylmer and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Mabel and Frank BRACKENBURY, and brother Larry.
Paul BRACKENBURY was a long-time educator in Elgin County. He began his career as a teacher at McGregor Public School in 1956, teaching at Straffordville, Port Burwell and Davenport for many years. During this time he also became a vice-principal. After his retirement in 1990 he spent his time playing baseball, poker and guitar, as well as gardening and woodworking. Paul was an active member of the Kinsmen and K-40 Clubs in Alymer. He had a keen interest in local history, and was active in the Bayham Historical Society. He enjoyed contributing articles to the Aylmer Express. He was a great wealth of Knowledge about the Port Burwell, Vienna, Lakeview and Aylmer areas. Most of his stories concerned his beloved Lakeview. His family and Friends are fortunate that Paul compiled detailed family history books for both the BRACKENBURY and Peters families, including many photographs and information that date back to the early 1800's. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Monday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at 1: 30 p.m. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery. Rev. WILSON, Dorothy Tamar (formerly RICHARDSON, née BRACKENBURY)
Dorothy Tamar WILSON, Wednesday, February 2, 2005, Dorothy WILSON of Tillsonburg slipped peacefully into the arms of the Lord and her loving family in Heaven. She was 3 weeks from her 89th birthday. Born and raised in Lakeview, she was the daughter of Frank and Mabel (CHUTE) BRACKENBURY. Dorothy lived a long and fulfilling life. She entered Nurse's Training but was unable to complete due to illness. However, she continued interest in health and medicines and was known for her healing creams which she gave to everyone. She was Post mistress in Thamesford for 20 years. After retiring to Aylmer in 1976 she devoted her time to producing beautiful flowers in her gardens, caring for her mother and traveling with Tom. Like her brother Paul she had a strong interest in her family history. Dorothy was a loyal member of North Broadway Baptist Church, W.M.F. and Plus 50. She was always concerned about the welfare of her Friends and family and was generous to all of them. She loved knitting and gave away baby shawls and many pairs of mittens for children. She will be missed deeply by all her Friends and her surviving family.
She was a wonderful mother to Ken and Ferne RICHARDSON of Merrickville and Marian and Robert SMITH of Tillsonburg and a loving grandmother to Andrew and Karen RICHARDSON, Christine SMITH and Robin VERKUIL. Her surviving sisters are Betty SHERER of Tennessee, Barbara CLARKE of Burlington, Mary DANBROOK and Keith of Tillsonburg, Lois TAILOR/TAYLOR and George of Ottawa, Gloria Gibson and Paul of Hamilton, Diana ANDERSON and Bernie HOLDEN of Vienna, Shirley BRACKENBURY and Irene BRACKENBURY and Bill VANDENEECKHOUT of Tillsonburg and Aunt Ruby BRACKENBURY of Aylmer and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dorothy lost both her brothers, Larry BRACKENBURY (1971) and Paul BRACKENBURY (Jan. 14/05.) She also outlived husbands Norman RICHARDSON (1967,) Doug WILSON (1971) and Thomas DARLISON (1992). It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Morey in his 100th year. Born on July 20th, 1906 in Allandale, (Barrie) Ontario, Morey is remembered by his family and Friends as a kind, gentle, warm, loving man. He was the epitome of a gentleman: a natty dresser, well read, and an extensive traveler. He loved a good joke, a fine cigar, his garden and first and foremost being with his family. Proud of his Canadian and British heritage, Morey served in the Toronto Scottish 48th Highlanders Reserve Regiment during World War 2. Morey will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son Dick and wife Jennifer, his daughter Margot TREVELYAN; grandchildren Sandra TREVELYAN, Ellen▼ and husband Don BURTON, Jeremy BURMAN, Jacquie BURMAN and her partner Greg BONNIE; great-grandchildren Kristen, Emma, Brandon and Gregory. His wife Margaret▼ DANCE, sister Margaret BOULT, and brother Hazen Edge predeceased him. Morey graduated from Trinity College, University of Toronto as a pharmacist in 1934. He had a long career in pharmacy both in dispensing and management. His first retirement was from Simpson's in 1965 where he had established the drug and cosmetic department and served on the Board of Director's for the Robert Simpson Drug Co. His final retirement was from the Queensway Hospital pharmacy in 1981 at age 75. Recently Morey resided at Southbrook Retirement Residence in Brampton where he made many Friends with both residents and staff. Friends may call on Monday, August 8th, from 6-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, August 9th, 2005 at 1 o'clock. Cremation. (formerly of Burlington) - passed peacefully into the Lords hands from home in Virgil, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, on Wednesday, August 10, 2005. Born June 30, 1933 in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, he leaves his loving wife and Querida of 21 years, Karen DANDIE- WALKS (née JACKSON.) He will always be remembered by his children, Lynn (Larry TYSOE,) Lisa (Ron BELLIS,) John (Amanda DYSON,) all of Toronto, Bob (Jo) of Mississauga and Michelle also of Toronto. David is also remembered by his stepchildren, Morgan HANNAH (Gary) of Milton, Jonathan DANDIE of Banff, Alberta and Theron DANDIE (Stacey CHANDLER) of Burlington. David is the very proud Papa of Kyle and Kevin BROWN, Jessica WALKS, Jeremy KURIS, and step Papa of Hunter and Cole DANDIE, Mackenzie CHANDLER and Mathew and Brittany HANNAH.
