Evelyn touched many lives. In 1959, she took over the family
business, Northern Transport, which she managed successfully
through the sixties and into the seventies. Her true joy, however,
was doing volunteer work in the community. She was an active
member of St. George's Anglican Church in Owen Sound and particularly
enjoyed being on the Chancel Guild. In the community, she took
great pleasure in serving Meals On Wheels and was a proud member
of the local Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire. She
was a dedicated mother and a truly admired and cherished Aunt
Ev. She will be remembered for her courage and dignity, her sense
of humour, her generous smile, and her remarkable memory for
people, places and cards (mostly at the bridge table). Evelyn

Victoria August 13, 1943, where he received his education at
Sir James Douglas, Central and Vic High Schools. Predeceased
by his brother Steve and his father Bill. He will be lovingly
remembered by his mother Win, his sisters Joan, Jean and Cathy,
Aunty Marge, nephews and nieces and former long-time companion
Shirley BELL. He moved to Toronto in 1967 to pursue his teaching
career at the University of Toronto, City of York (Vaughan Road
Collegiate, Adult Day School, and Weston Collegiate Institute).
He was on the executive of the Retired Teachers of Ontario Mid-Island
Branch, 2000 to 2003. Bob retired back to Vancouver Island in
1999, living in Qualicum Beach, Nanaimo and most recently Victoria.
He volunteered at Milner Gardens and Woodland in Qualicum Beach.
Along with his love of gardening, he enjoyed entertaining with
good food, and fine wine, travel, music and his dogs. In lieu
of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.

Businessman born in Toronto in 1921.
After a spell in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World
War, he joined the family construction business. With his brothers
George, James and Frank, he helped found Crothers Ltd., a Concord,
Ontario-based company that sold Caterpillar construction and
earth-moving equipment throughout Ontario. He worked with his
brothers to establish a business that branched out into building
hotels and supplying power in the Caribbean. In the early 1970s,

for Argentina and much of the Caribbean. In 1993, the family
sold Crothers Ltd. to Toromont Industries Ltd. for $60-million.
