KENNEDY, Lenore (née REAY)
Of Hanover, passed away at Hanover Care Centre, on Wednesday, January 26th, 2005. She was 93. Born in Bentinck Township, daughter of the late Joseph and Ida (BROWN) REAY. Lenore worked at the Durham and Hanover Hospitals as an R.N., until retiring and was a member of the Bentinck Women's Fellowship and the Federated Farm Women. Survived by daughters, Doreen and husband, Dean PAGE, of Waterloo, Shirley and husband, Robert HUNSPERGER, of Hanover grandchildren, Nancy and Gary CONWAY, Gwen and Don ROTH, Tracey and Chris SURDYKOWSKI, all of Waterloo, Cathy and Andy HILL, of Orangeville, Kim and Dale BECKER, of Ayton, Randall and Debby HUNSPERGER, of Kitchener, Rob and Wendy HUNSPERGER, of R.R.#3, Hanover; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grand_son. Also survived by brother, Claren and wife, Ada REAY, of Hanover. Predeceased by husband, Walter KENNEDY; great-grand_son, Lucas and brothers, Aylmer and Royden REAY. Visitation will be held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Friday, 2: 00 to 4:00 and 7: 00 to 9:00 p.m., where a Funeral Service will be held, Saturday, January 29th, 2005 at 11: 00 a.m. Pastor Bob LITTLE officiating. Patrick (P.J.) CONWAY a resident of Wallaceburg passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 in his 56th year. Beloved wife and best friend of Carol (SUTHERLAND.) son of the late Hugh CONWAY (1982) and Christine CONWAY (1995.) Brother of Paul of London, Pamela and Tim DUNN of Horseshoe Valley and the late Peter (1969.) Son-in-law of the late Bruce SUTHERLAND (2002) and Josie SUTHERLAND (2002.) Brother-in-law of James and Sheryl MILLER of Waterloo, uncle of Meaghan, Afton, Jackson, Erin, Ian and Tobin. He will be missed by his canine companions, Sasha, Bandit, K.D. and Boots. P.J. was a past Charter Member of the Lions Club and a former Big Brother. He loved all sports, but his true passion was golf. He will be remembered for his good humor and positive attitude during his illness. Friends called at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street (at Elgin), in Wallaceburg from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday. The funeral service was conducted by Fr. Fifty-five years ago, 350 members of the 2nd Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, were en route to Fort Lewis, Washington., and thence to the Korean War when their troop train collided with an eastbound passenger express near Canoe River, British Columbia Twelve soldiers were killed instantly, four died aboard the rescue train, and one died in hospital. They were Arden ATCHISON (Loon Lake, Saskatchewan.), Weldon BARKHOUSE (Wolfville, Nova Scotia), Norman CARROLL (Pennant, Saskatchewan.), Frederick CONWAY (Grand Falls, Newfoundland.), Robert CRAIG (Foam Lake, Saskatchewan.), Austin GEORGE (Eight Island Lake, Newfoundland.), Urbain LÉVESQUE (Ottawa), Robert MANLEY (Niagara Falls, Ontario), Basil McKEOWN (Moscow, Ontario), Albert ORR (Calgary), David OWENS (Granby, Quebec), Leslie SNOW (Saint John's), Albert STROUD (Howley, Newfoundland.), Joseph THISTLE (Conception Bay, Newfoundland.), James WENKERT (Cowansville, Quebec), James WHITE/WHYTE (Placentia Bay, Newfoundland.) and William WRIGHT (Neepawa, Manitoba.) Beloved husband and partner for 62 years of Jean (née CONYARD.) Cherished father of late daughter Nolene and of son Sean (Joyce ROBERTS.) Survived by loving children Marie (Gordon KENNEDY,) Alacoque, Richard (Yvonne DAMBOISE), Christopher, Jane, Brian, Michael, Ellen (Gary LINTON), and Bridget (Bradford BIMM.) Peacefully, at home, with her family and Friends by her side, on Tuesday, November 8, 2005. Beloved wife of the late Jack. Loving mother of Linda STEWARD/STEWART/STUART and Judy (Ken) EVANS. Predeceased by her grand_son Brett Dean STEWARD/STEWART/STUART. Survived by her sister Marilyn (Fred) CLARK, and nieces Donna (Danny) MacDONALD and Glenna CONWAY and their families. Special thanks to Jane (Gary) CAMPBELL and Andrea for their compassion and comfort, and the caregivers Elaine, Dr. L. WOOD, Dr. B. VARTY and Irene. Shirley will be remembered for her strength, courage, and sense of humour. She met her illness with determination and greeted each day with a positive attitude. Shirley was a wonderful mother, wife and friend who made taking care of her a joy and as easy as possible for those she loved. She touched the lives of many and was an inspiration to us all. We will miss her zest for and enjoyment of life and travel. As per Shirley's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of her life at a later date.

Born November 22, 1926 in Dublin, Ireland. Richard passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on January 1, 2005 at William Osler Health Care Centre, Etobicoke Campus. Beloved husband and partner for 62 years of Jean (née CONYARD.) Cherished father of late daughter Nolene and of son Sean (Joyce ROBERTS.) Survived by loving children Marie (Gordon KENNEDY,) Alacoque, Richard (Yvonne DAMBOISE), Christopher, Jane, Brian, Michael, Ellen (Gary LINTON), and Bridget (Bradford BIMM.) Beloved Grandy of Kevin, Tina (Michael STEWARD/STEWART/STUART), Jason, Jennifer, John, Stephen, Matthew, Laura, Rebecca, Brendan, Phil, Katherine, Lisa, Nicolas, Alex, Austin and Claire. Great Grandy of Ethan. Richard immigrated to Canada from Dublin in 1956. Richard was proud to have served 26 years with the Metropolitan Toronto Police Service, retiring in 1991. He was an Honorary lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Richard was an avid fisherman who had an endless supply of wonderful anecdotes and he savoured a good joke.
